I bought one for myself as a bit of a secret xmas present to me. Didn't need it (I thought) but just fancied something just for me.

I used it this morning for the first time. it is absolutely amazing!

I have very wavy, very thick, very strong & sometimes very frizzy shoulder length hair cut into layers. It has turned my frankly fugly bed head mop into a lovely smooth, neat and flicky do. It looks fab and it took all of about 3 minutes and I didn't even really know what I was doing.

Wish I had of bought one ages ago!

Got mine in Asda £28, love it!

EntWife · 27/12/2013 20:20

oooh, i have never had a thread take off before. Sorry to have abandoned it.

mine is a 42mm one and i have used it every day since my xmas day revelation. i tried using it to dry my hair but it was too fiddly and took too long. better to blast it with the hair dryer and then finish with the BBH. when my hair is dry though it literally takes all of 3 minutes to have lovely hair. I have 3 children under 4, one of which is 4 months old. 3 minutes is about all i have. It is so nice to look "put together" instead of "dragged through a hedge backward". i cant do anything about the bags under my eyes or the jelly belly but the hair is sorted!

"dragged through a hedge backward" Grin

randomAXEofkindness · 27/12/2013 20:39

Nerf, you git! I bet you got the last one, I've just been on and they've sold out Envy

holycowwhatnow · 27/12/2013 20:44

Going to get one tomorrow. I'm totally inspired. I tried my SIL's one today because I wasn't sure if they would cope with my very very thick hair but 3 mins on my dry hair made it look better. Can't wait to try it out properly tomorrow.

It's so annoying that in Boots here in Ireland, they're €60 for what is £40 in the UK. I'm so sick of their £1=€1.50 exchange rate on everything. I'll buy it elsewhere on principle.

BananaNotPeelingWell · 27/12/2013 22:13

Just wondering which size to get. (Chin length bob, fine hair.) There doesnt seem much difference in the sizesConfused

LamaDrama · 27/12/2013 22:31

Ive got the smaller one.

Fine, shoulder length hair with a few layers.

Nerfmother · 27/12/2013 22:31

Sorry random.
I have consumed a vast amount of sherry and Pinot though, so I may just think ice ordered it. It's prob a giant inflatable Santa.

BananaNotPeelingWell · 27/12/2013 22:40

Thanks LlamaSmile, I thought that size would be ok. Just measured the brush I usually use and its the same size as the smaller BBH.

LamaDrama · 27/12/2013 22:50

I now look like this Grin

TheArticFunky · 28/12/2013 13:29

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but my hair is just the same. I'm rubbish at doing hair Sad

BananaNotPeelingWell · 30/12/2013 18:06

Just out of interest, did anyone who ordered from the £28 styler on offer from Asda actually get it? I ordered one, had my order confirmed and received a reminder email to collect it. When I went to pick it up after the better part of an hour shuffling between customer service desks and people looking Confused it transpired my order had been cancelledHmm. I phoned the customer service dept when I got home who said the payment hadn't gone through and they'd cancelled it (never mentioned any of this to me) despite having sent me the emails confirming the order. There was absolutely more than enough funds in my account to make the payment, I've used my card since with no problem and the bank haven't said any attempt was made to collect a payment from Asda. Now it's back to the full price and I've missed the offer. I'm really annoyed with them and have emailed to complain but have had no reply.

Roshbegosh · 30/12/2013 18:36

That's the kind of thing said about Asda all the time on MN. I would be upset about that.

Nerfmother · 30/12/2013 18:47

Well I will let you know tomorrow! I just went to my Asda orders to add something and then realised the price had changed to 44 from 28 so stopped amending and left it. Meant to be delivered pm tues.

BananaNotPeelingWell · 30/12/2013 18:51

Yes you're right Rosh I suppose I shouldnt be too surprised. When I rang them up they were even cheeky enough to ask if I'd like to re-order again anyway at the full price. I said that was terribly nice of them to offer Hmm but I could buy it anywhere for that price. And probably would.

BananaNotPeelingWell · 30/12/2013 18:54

I hope you get yours Nerf at the right price.

Nerfmother · 30/12/2013 19:05

So do I! Asda seem to be the bad guys on mumsnet - I've already had a thread about payments!

shesaidgleeba · 30/12/2013 19:09

do you think a different brand would do the same job? i'm feeling the pinch a bit after christmas and the tresemme one is £19 with free delivery on amazon

Alwayscheerful · 30/12/2013 19:09

Anyone tried the similar one by John Frieda?

MikeChristmasTreeIsLit · 30/12/2013 20:11

she said does the tresemme one turn?

shesaidgleeba · 30/12/2013 20:33

Mike, thank you for asking as it made me check and it says 'non-rotating Hmm. I would've been really disappointed, thank you. So now to decide whether I can justify more money on me so soon after Christmas!

Nerfmother · 31/12/2013 17:28

No, delivered and charged 44.96!
Am tempted to start a thread about how crap Asda are. Shock

DipMeInChocolate · 31/12/2013 18:46

Mine died yesterday Sad. Its only 9m old. It'll be going back to Tesco on Thursday for replacement.

handcream · 31/12/2013 18:47

I have to say - sorry, I dont rate it. I have fine slippery hair and it didnt do anything for me at all.
