Ok I haven't been out with the girls since ds was born 9 months ago, it's all I can do to get to the cinema with dh!

Am 34 size 10, average height, 5' 6"

What do you think of this dress for our annual Christmas dinner and dancing night?

Want to look decent!

It's the sort of thing I'd like to try but would never pick up.
I really liked it until I saw the zip at the back which stands out a bit too much for my taste, but otherwise its nice.

rainbowfeet · 12/11/2013 19:35

Gorgeous buy it! Grin

HyvaPaiva · 12/11/2013 19:40

Love it!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/11/2013 19:41

I like the style but not the pattern. It's also perhaps a bit 'workish' for going out dancing imho.

Valdeeves · 12/11/2013 19:43

Link not working for me?

BunnyLebowski · 12/11/2013 19:43

It's a bit staid and boring for a girl's night out.

Definitely more a work dress.

LostMarbles99 · 12/11/2013 19:47

Work dress, really? The other women are all office people but I'm a primary teacher and would definitely wear something like this to work.

Any alternatives?

I do like it though!

This if you can wear black?

WipsGlitter · 12/11/2013 20:07

Someone I work with wears this to work!

HavingAnOffDAy · 12/11/2013 20:19

I love the dress that Remus linked to. There's 20% off it at Debenhams at the moment too Smile

elliegoulding · 12/11/2013 20:22

I'd be more likely to wear the black one to work and the red one out on t'razz. I like it Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/11/2013 20:26

I'd wear the black one too work too, but it could be made more 'night time' than the original one, I think - it looks shorter too.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/11/2013 20:40

to work, not too

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 12/11/2013 20:46

I wouldn't wear either for a night out tbh

No suggestions atm but I'd go for something a little more 'interesting'

sherbetpips · 12/11/2013 20:52

Both are too work for me, how about something a bit younger/funkier? www.coast-stores.com/tribeca-dress/dresses/coast/fcp-product/2224833298

HandragsNGladbags · 12/11/2013 21:11

Love it!

SilverLining · 12/11/2013 21:15

Mine arrived yesterday!!! It's really really lovely & I wouldn't imagine wearing it for work - it's quite slinky (well on me slightly larger size....Wink)

blondiep14 · 12/11/2013 21:22

French Connection have some nice dresses in at the moment

JuneauWhoIAm · 12/11/2013 21:23

I'm 35.
I wouldn't wear any of those for a night out TBH.

ProtectiveMother · 12/11/2013 21:39

The original Rivi dress by OP def the nicest here. I agree you should buy it. Will look great on your size & height.

ProtectiveMother · 12/11/2013 21:42

I hate short dresses personally. Especially for nights out. Has to be knee length or longer ;-)

ShreddedHoops · 12/11/2013 21:54

I really like the first dress but maybe for a wedding or something? Not because it's Coast, I think it's the sleeves, it's just a bit grown-up and groomed for a raucous or even semi raucous night out. What about going sleeveless if your arms are up to it? Hang on I'll google...

LostMarbles99 · 12/11/2013 21:56

A bit of a split in opinion!

I really want to look good, Confused

Financeprincess · 12/11/2013 22:34

I think the first dress is a bit work-ish, but nice. The frock sherbetpips recommended is the nicest. Looks young & funky bug still chic.

Financeprincess · 12/11/2013 22:35

BUT, not bug...
