Continuing on from here
A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail. Lurkers...... you know you want to..........

Hello all,
Been quiet as dd and I were u well with tonsilitis. Improving slowly, horrible dose. That s the 3 rd time she has had tonsilitis recently - gp talking about sending for ENT referral.

Enjoyed catching up on all the lovely links, have felt a bit too 'bleurgh ' to post. Pinned my birthday present for opinions ... What do you think ?

Had to miss getting my hair done - restyle and highlights are so overdue - but i m rocking a very seasonal zombie look I suppose - can get away with it for another week! Ds has to dress up for school tomorrow - I ve nothing organised for him.

Shop hope the house sells quickly. How do you find the parka? (I can live vicariously.....)
dry and queen lovely jewellery links.
Marsha and mig - I find Sheridan and droma bed linen super - we have a very deep mattress and similar probs with sheets pinging if we get any other brands. I love piubelle for duvet covers and fretted for ultimate luxury (have only one set but it s divine and washed and lasted so well)

The quest for dark grey jeans possibly [http://m.avenue32.com/h5/hub?id=%2Fclothing%2Fdenim%2Fardenes-anja-skinny-jeans-46201.html these] and coated black 'leather look 'still continues. Currently dissatisfied with wardrobe as feel I need a few pieces to bring it together.
Grey and black crew neck knits also needed.
Black or ivory or copper 'silky' top or t (for sequinned skirt) and lace pencil skirts
Have ordered 2 maison scotch shirts - one with lips and one sweater with stars - iPad not letting me link these for some reason.

Ok gonna get dressed now - black baxters, chambray shirt, new hat
Dune jalouse a likes (narrower fit much better) and h and m biker knight thingy.

Oh and can we talk nail varnish? Currently not loving any of mine - saw a pal with the most delectable pale grey, must ask her what shade and where she got it. I m wearing an opi crimson on feet and nothing on hands but will rectify that tomorrow after work.

MarshaBrady · 24/10/2013 12:04

Turq thanks for recs I am yet to really splash out on linen. I'd love something lovely one day. I'll let the more knowledgable do polish .

Linus love the navy bag. I say for for it with the slippers.

Had a good run, weather is perfect today - fresh, sunny and crisp. Definitely my favourite.

foxysocks · 24/10/2013 12:11

thanks Marsha - have succumbed and used my voucher! also had free del code and TWC on quidco so truly bargainous

all our linen is white. either JL or king of cotton, the latter are my fave, great CS.

yep also loving the navy bag linus. have my eye on an outnet special but unfortunately still out of budget for this month at least. might send DH the link as a birthday hint but even he might baulk at it unfortunately. my mum might be a better bet actually. ooo I love it when birthdays are on the horizon! the out of reach becomes within reach Grin

queenc yy to wine. i had a small glass last night, my first in two weeks due to all the heavy drugs have been taking. not even needed paracetamol today. i can 'feel' it but wouldn't describe it as pain. am seeing fab body worker again tomorrow, i will probs float out. she did this great jaw manipulation last week, I have a lot of tension there, needs to come out somehow. wine not always answer, rotfl. sometimes wine AND cake works though

foxysocks · 24/10/2013 12:13

by 'it' I mean my shoulder obv!

DH now leaving on 7th Nov. so vino after that. xx

Decameron · 24/10/2013 12:36

Thanks Shop, that's very kind of you. I like White Co for house stuff, girls' clothes and the odd top for myself.

Turquoise, get well soon. I've just received these grey jeans which are a great fit, maybe too pale a grey for you though?

Sleepwhenidie · 24/10/2013 13:09

Hi everyone. Glad to gear your shoulder is getting better Foxy - any poncho news Grin? Just dashing in to say hi, I have lots of lectures to listen to so that I can relax with the dc's next week. This studying business, whilst expensive in itself, is definitely saving us some money, I don't have time to shop! Grin. Still sat in my kickboxing kit, definitely not very Vogue Smile.

We have extra deep mattress too - white co extra deep fitted sheets just about do the job. I have a linen duvet cover on at the moment which is charcoal grey on top and 'natural' beige colour on the underside. Gorgeous, heavy texture. I alternate this with white white co duvet cover with silver grey border. Deep pink Clarissa Hulse throw over the end and also a big, thick camel/cream White Co cashmere blanket when it gets colder...it is divine to snuggle up in.

Its such a beautiful day isn't it? Our garden looks stunning, the trees across the back have all turned the most amazing shade of yellow, it looks lit up today Smile. Perfect running weather Marsha.

Shop - how are you coping so far without your juice and cereal Grin? Quinoa usually near the lentils and stuff Smile.

Dry - sorry for delay, DH dug his turbo trainer out of the shed this morning, it is Elite Inertia model. He seems very happy with it.

OneLittleLady · 24/10/2013 13:33

sleep I'm just finishing off a weeks food diary so will Pm you when complete so it can be sent to you.

Sleepwhenidie · 24/10/2013 13:54

Great One, looking forward to it Smile. If there are any specific things you want me to think about for you, such as any energy your health complaints then let me know that too.

MarshaBrady · 24/10/2013 14:33

Just a quicky. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a magazine one month out of date? Dazed and Confused Oct edition in particular.

MarshaBrady · 24/10/2013 14:35

Love those grey jeans Decam, very much.

Sleep sounds gorgeous. I get soppy about beautiful trees. We have some lovely ones on our street atm. And since so many of us exercise, do yoga, run I say gym kit is right in there with the Vogue look!

MarshaBrady · 24/10/2013 14:38

I should say printed Oct ed not digital. Worth a tweet I suppose.

shopafrolic · 24/10/2013 15:24

Tweet them Marsha @DazedMagazine xx

Also sometimes worth an ask at your local newsagent.....

Drywhiteplease · 24/10/2013 15:37

Sleep thanks! that's the make my spinning teacher recommended....will have a look.
Linus the valorise are lovely......soooooo tempted by the gold
Shop I'm not sure that shape jean would flatter the shorter ones amongst us but! long legged ladies might get away with it! I love the look of a wide legged jean synched in at the waist with a chunky belt and fitted top! just not on my!

So....I've done a Novice. Went to TK Maxx for some Calvin Klein pants for DS and came out with a lot of cleaning equipment......one of these which I'm beyond excited about saddo will waft around my new wooden floors for hours! And one of these how have I ever lived without one Shock Wink....then I trundled staggered to Lakeland for some very boring things which were on the top floor, I had so many bags and poles etc that the kind lady buzzed them and they put my stuff in the lift so I didn't have to hike up stair and impale and elderly ladies !!!!!!

Is the silence about my new boots because you agree with dd that they're "a bit granny" .....I may take some outfit shots for honest opinion. Out of my classic boring comfort zone but could be useful, or am I being seduced by the reasonable price?

Drywhiteplease · 24/10/2013 15:39

Agree Sleep it's walking in the country weather....not manic Impromptu Christmas shopping weather!Grin

MarshaBrady · 24/10/2013 15:40

Nooo Dry they're not granny at all! They are on my list of possibles too. They look good.

Thanks Shop. Found the mag! Ordered it, gotta love the internet.

shopafrolic · 24/10/2013 15:41

Sorry Dry - missed those. Take some outfit shots. They don't look tough / worn enough for me. But I prefer a chunkier sole on a biker........
Sleep This week I'm finishing up cereal, drinking juice etc to finish everything up (can't bin food.......)
Next week my body will be a temple Hmm and I've managed to get a place back on my old Pilates class finally (had to give up when DH got made redundant and then couldn't get back in for ages) so things are looking hopeful.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 24/10/2013 15:42

Shop that's great news. Are you kicking cereal and juice? They are two of the big healthy but not type things.

MarshaBrady · 24/10/2013 15:44

For me I should add!

Turquoiseblue · 24/10/2013 16:14

Oh I give in! Apologies for the crazy links not working.

Dry I like those boots, depend on how you style them- skinnies or straight leg would work well, have seen them working with tartan and knit too for a toughened look.

Am leafing through grazia and that Gianni coat is here again (p 75) was it shop who wanted it ? I think it s going to be a pattern that subliminally grows on one....

Decameron · 24/10/2013 17:01

Sorry Dry, I missed your boots, I don't think they are grannyish at all.

Oh dear, I love a bowl of Alpen in the morning (sugar free blue one), is that bad too?

shopafrolic · 24/10/2013 17:19

Apparently muesli not great either Decam :(
YY juice and cereal amongst other things.
Yes Turquoise the Ganni is my virtual coat. [[ double brackets for your links should work.....
