Seen a couple of bits that I kinda like, but really can't decide if it's generally hippy frumpsville or not!

I think it's become a clone of White Stuff lately.
I didn't used to like FF at all- yet when I looked online last week I thought it was WS!
I don't buy (yet) but that's because I still remember how they used to be- and I hate the name and the horrid changing rooms.

NotAnotherPackedLunch · 22/09/2013 17:58

Some of their stuff is good and not frumpy, but you'll need to try on clothes that are labelled at least one size smaller than your actual size.

GirlWithTheDirtyShirt · 22/09/2013 18:02

I've a couple of nice cardigans from there. They're definitely big sizing though.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/09/2013 18:03

I don't like it at all, sorry. It looks like toddler clothing in adult sizes.

JollySleepyGiant · 22/09/2013 18:05

It's for people who used to be 'alternative' but have grown up now.

MedusaIsHavingaBadHairday · 22/09/2013 18:11

I like the tunic tops and stripey basics:) I can't wear their boots or shoes..they just don't fit me for some reason.

Then again I'm not toooo fussy .. DD2 has a weekend job there and a great discount so I'll wear most of their stuff!

peachypips · 22/09/2013 18:12

I am 35 and consider it a bit 'old' and safe for me. Lots of the yr 6 mums seem to be wearing it!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/09/2013 18:14

Alternative? Really? Surely it's far too colourful?! Wink

NotQuiteCockney · 22/09/2013 18:14

It's odd, it's clearly for the 30s and 40s market, but it pretends to be for people in their 20s. (and yes, the sizing is delusional)

That being said, their clothes are reasonably well-made and seem to stand up well.

2cats2many · 22/09/2013 18:15

Definitely frumpy.

Kamchatka · 22/09/2013 18:16

Bits are ok, quality varies.
They don't half rely on crustily-printed jersey though.
(I never buy crustily-printed jersey, it's just wrong.)

NickyNackyNooNoo · 22/09/2013 18:16

Their sizing is bonkers, vanity sizing gone mad! I have a pair of size 12 jeans (I'm a size 12, oddly enough Wink ) and I can actually take them off without undoing them Hmm

SofaCanary · 22/09/2013 18:18

Their pyjamas are long and wash well, I like 'em a lot.

Not been tempted by anything else though.

milkwasabadchoice · 22/09/2013 18:20

It is deliberately designed for people in their 30s and 40s who have a decent amount of money to spend but who want to feel like they are still a surfer dude young at heart outdoors type even though they wear a suit all week and have two kids and a mortgage.

I used to write about the company when it was bought by a private equity firm. So I know.

So I just can't like it even though I always buy my sister clothes from there for her birthday and she always looks lovely.

noisytoys · 22/09/2013 18:21

DM loves Fat Face she's in her late 40's. she thinks they are cool and trendy Grin

AmberDextrous · 22/09/2013 18:24

Great for jeans & the best pair of cords I've ever bought are from FF
Not keen on their tops/ dresses though

YellowbelliedSapsucker · 22/09/2013 18:24

Hippy frumpsville is a good description. But it's miles from my style so I'm bound to be biased against it. Everything in the window looks so floppy and muted and kind of worn out already.

MelanieCheeks · 22/09/2013 18:26

I've bought some pieces that I like. But a lot of it makes me shudder - their colours this summer were gharishly bright.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 22/09/2013 18:28

Their jeans are great for apples.

boodles · 22/09/2013 18:28

Love their pjs and own quite a few pairs. I have a couple of their cardis and a few hoodies (all bought in the sale). I do think that their bottoms are made more for hour glass figures (I am apple shape and so can get flappy bits of material on the hips). I do think their bottoms are sized large but not so much on their tops. I am v slim (bmi 18) and I am an 8 in their tops, I prob could squeeze into a 6. So this is on a par with most shops for me.

MarianForrester · 22/09/2013 18:29

Frumpy. And don't want Fat Face written on me, thanks all the same

ThePorpoiseOfStupidity · 22/09/2013 18:30

I like some bits and have a top and cardigan from there.

usualsuspect · 22/09/2013 18:30

I think its over priced.

Hamwidgeandcheps · 22/09/2013 18:33

It's very middle of the road. I bought two tops there with gift vouchers that make me want to kill myself thru make me look so frumpy. Otoh I bought exh blokes clothes in there that still look great -3/4 shorts etc

anythingforaquietnight · 22/09/2013 18:36

I like FatFace, but then I'm late 40's, surf, used to be alternative and generally floppy and muted and kind of worn out already Sad
