Seen a couple of bits that I kinda like, but really can't decide if it's generally hippy frumpsville or not!

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 22/09/2013 18:40

Kids stuff is great. Blokes stuff is great (for a middle aged fella)

I have a couple of surfy dresses and a white cotton blouse that is fab. I like the summer jewelry and bits like funky slippers

The women's trousers are frumpy though

dexter73 · 22/09/2013 19:27

Like any shop, some stuff is nice and some isn't.

talkingnonsense · 22/09/2013 19:32

Generally better quality than white stuff ime, washes well, some nice kids stuff.

yomellamoHelly · 22/09/2013 20:04

Like their stuff. But the quality of the stuff I've bought has been rubbish and it hasn't lasted so haven't bought anything in a while.

Selks · 22/09/2013 20:22

It's all a bit droopy looking.

snowlie · 22/09/2013 20:23

Dull, frumptastic, stuck in a style rut.

SignoraStronza · 22/09/2013 20:26

I used to like it when it first started out. Did some great combats and really hard wearing stuff. They don't seem to do any non sludge colours now and certainly nothing in shades of black (try looking for a basic black item of clothing in there).

Wouldn't buy from there now. Way too overpriced and bland.

duckyfuzz · 22/09/2013 20:28

Love the pjs, kids jeans are good

freddiefrog · 22/09/2013 22:11

I've got some stuff, mostly summer clothes - flip flops, cut off shorts and a hoodie. They're alright, nothing special but nothing frumpy either

Round here it's worn by sailing/surfing/water sports/seaside-y people, but then where I live is sailing/surfing/etc obsessed

Mosschops30 · 22/09/2013 22:29

Pyjamas are expensive but lovely.

Love the chinos and wish I could afford a pair in every colour

Tops are poor quality, I've taken two back that have developed holes quickly.

Some of it is very mumsy and would make Naomi Campbell look like she's got saggy tits and a muffin top

Kids stuff is nice

lemonteaplease · 11/05/2015 13:19

I actually love their stuff! Very good quality, and very classic looking. Perfect work attire! Smile

Damnautocorrect · 11/05/2015 13:43

I like the odd bit but on the whole the cut and colours seem a bit frumpy
The kids tops are ok but the boys bottoms are massive on the waist

TakeMeUpNorthMountain · 11/05/2015 13:46

Cannot get past the name. Terrible.

NorbertDentressangle · 11/05/2015 13:51

The quality varies massively and the sizing is way out (even size 10 jeans on size 12 me are huge!)

The jeans do seem to last well though as does a hoodie I have from there. Tshirts always seem massively overpriced for the 'nothing special' quality of them.

I have to admit I only ever buy the odd thing from there in the sale.

NinjaPanda34 · 11/05/2015 13:51

I love their jeans, but the button seems to rip holes in every top I own :(

flowery · 11/05/2015 13:51

They have the most irritating jumpy website in the history of the universe.

spiderlight · 11/05/2015 13:52

Half my wardrobe's from Fat Face, but then I'm all of the above - classic worn-out muted mumsy hippy outdoorsy 40-something! Grin

Chrisalice · 11/05/2015 13:52

I think its ideal for adults who have never got the idea of smarter post-student dressing... Jeans stretch horribly after a couple of hours wear unfortunately.

Branleuse · 11/05/2015 13:59

It washes well. Better quality than whitestuff. I like their summer dresses as theyre a good length. Not frumpy, and not teenagery.

A lot of their tops etc are cut for people without boobs, but the dresses are good. the menswear and kidswear is also good quality.

For similar, I like mantaray

CadiM · 11/05/2015 14:03

I've bought a few things from there and I like their jackets but I've just been into one of the shops and nothing appealed, lots of overpriced and shapeless tops. And I agree with flowery, terrible website.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 11/05/2015 14:18

Odd thread to be resurrected...wonder if the resurrecter works for them?

Frumpsville I'd say. And lump them in with White Stuff and Monsoon and a fair bit of Per Una.

Maybe not uncoincidentally, all 3 are sold in my local factory shop along with bits of Boden so am guessing they are all made by the same people.

The vanity sizing is ridiculous. I am a busty 12 and a 10 buries me.

Runningupthathill82 · 11/05/2015 14:55

Really frumpy. Hideous prints. Mad vanity sizing. Overpriced.... much like joules and white stuff, really.

ouryve · 11/05/2015 14:56

I quite like it, but it's cut completely wrong for my narrow shoulders and lack of waist

Oly4 · 11/05/2015 15:23

Quality is good, my
Basics tshirts and hoodies from there last forever. I like the fact they do loads of cotton.
I'm just very careful about what I pick so I don't stray into mother-of-two territory.
Don't care if this thread has been dug up from the past

NorbertDentressangle · 11/05/2015 16:20

Never noticed it was an old resurrected thread when I posted.

Strange.
