its squidgy (welshboris you cow ) mine used to be flat and toned but i've been lazy since having dd, as i want another baby in the not so distant future i keep thinking is it really worth doing any exercises or not eating that fudge doughnut thats downstairs with my name on it

Marne · 24/06/2006 20:49

I hate mine, 3 years ago i was a size 10 now after 2 kids i am a size 14, my tummy looks floppy and yuk, i can't look in the mirror, i hate looking at my horrid tummy. I will get back to a size 10

foxinsocks · 24/06/2006 20:50

I have stretch marks and it is saggy where I lost the extra squillions of kilos I put on when deciding to eat constantly through two pregnancies (with v little gap in between)

however, it is smaller than dh's tummy and as long as it stays that way, I can live with it!

Every now and then I do sit ups so now I have uber strong stomach muscles with a saggy bag of skin on top (lovely)!

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2006 20:56

Boris I think age helps. Your skin is more elastic.

My stomach is more or less flat from the belly button down but has this weird roll of fat effect just above it. Also a nice crepey stretch mark thing going on.

I am pleased to learn from this thread that I am not the only one who does 'standing in front of the mirror with arms up to look at your stomach' type activities. I look bloody marvellous like that

Xena · 24/06/2006 20:59

I hate mine, In the summer i'm constantly pulling my top down to cover it. It reminds me of my own mothers- hers should have stopped me coping her with 4 children of my own

FlameBoo · 24/06/2006 21:11

Hate it - need to get some sort of muscles. I am slimming down, and the lumpy muffiny bits at my sides are going, but the front is still as big and saggy as ever, with a collapsed line down the middle

i'm too lazy to do sit ups though, so I just sit and whinge about it

Whizzz · 24/06/2006 21:14

What we need is a Sit Up thread !
Log in when you have done your allocated amount

TooTicky · 24/06/2006 21:16

Mine used to be concave! 4 babies later and it has some pretty stretchy-stripes and a certain amount of sagginess. I hate hipster trousers/short tops with a passion and people who wear them are just show-offs.

Tommy · 24/06/2006 21:19

mine is just awful
I'm not overweight but my tummy is covered in stretchmarks and just flobs around. My tummy button is horrible - it looks like someone has poked their finger into a bowl of dough....

sorry - TMI - I'm sure you didn't want to hear that

FlameBoo · 24/06/2006 21:37

Ooooh Whizzzzzzzzzzz - we could have it like the pelvic floors "Do your pelvic floors and x amount of sit ups now, and then bump the thread"

Whizzz · 24/06/2006 21:45

but would we do them?

Its worth a go! I will start a thread then!

I've been thinking of starting a situps thread for a while (says it all really...) Has anyone done it? Link please

schneebly · 25/06/2006 07:33

I am 26 and have the flabby, saggy, wrikled belly of an 80 year old who used to be fatter than she is now. I have only had 2 kids but got terrible stretch marks and my weight has yo-yoed dramatically over the last few years which doesn't help. I am currently losing weight and the more I lose the worse it looks! YUCK!

FrannyandZooey · 25/06/2006 07:37

Pruni, let's just walk around everywhere in a balletic style with our arms up. Go on, if we both do it it will start to catch on, and then everyone will say "Oh Pruni, you mean Pruni with the fantastic tits?"

Mines flat(ish) but I work at it.. a good way of toning is when you're walking round try and remember to pull your peclvic floor up and suck your stomach in.. you won't be able to hold it for very long to start with but it, helps your stomach and your pelvic floor as well as improving your posture!

Other than that.. sit ups, planks and squats

Jasnem · 25/06/2006 08:12

Mine is not great ...it used to be but 3 kids later its saggy. I try not to look in mirrors at all, but if I lie on my back and look,it's fine. When I lie on my side it sort of pours over onto the bed (really not a good look)

FrannyandZooey · 25/06/2006 08:13

Pruni, if we share out your arse, we will both have one normal sized bottom each. I have a similar arrangement with a very well endowed friend over breasts.

sowoffended · 25/06/2006 09:14

My boobs look fine when I've got my arms in the air, lol.

I don't want a fabulous flat toned taut tummy (well yes I do but I'm realistic) but I'd like a tummy that is smaller than my bust and bum.

Whizzz · 25/06/2006 10:25

Here you go

Sit UP thread !

No excuses !

stitch · 25/06/2006 10:41

mine is like a massive deflated balloon.

pregnangt tummy, with the baby removed, and nothign else in their. folds at the sides. stretch marks all over.
yucht.

and i go to the gym loads. and do loads of situyps. and friend who is superfit, gym 7 days a week type person was teaching me how to do some other situps last week, and she said i had super strong abdominal mucscles.
ppity about the flab.

pre baby, i had a fantastic, concave tummy. i was four months pregnant before it expanded to flat.!

littlerach · 25/06/2006 11:09

Mine has that crepey thing going on too.

Thing is, I am pretty much back to pre preg weight and size, a large 10 or small 12. But still floppy bit.

I've bought a size larger bikini bottom to cover it. Hopefully this will work.

Or I shall resign myself to walking around the beach with arms lifted.

bunny3 · 25/06/2006 11:11

it's my worst bit. I hate it. It is like a fat blokes beer gut at the moment and as the rest of me is normal size it really accentuates it's bigness. It is also doughy and sags. I plan a tummy tuck when my child bearing days are done.

bunny3 · 25/06/2006 11:12

i have to say a really good, control swimming suit takes inches off and is really flattering. Couldnt even consider a bikini, I'd be repellant.
