A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.

Evening All, thank you for the warm welcome and the follows on pinterest.

To introduce myself properly I have not long a year or so ago turned 30 and am a mother to two wonderful little girls. As many of you have noticed I have an addiction to handbags, (was so tempted to get involved in the infamous bag thread but sat on my hands!) and lack a lot of confidence with my clothes so feel a great handbag can lift even the plainest of outfits.

I lost my way a little after having my girls so close together and sidlining my career in retail management (prizes available for those that guess my employer) to stay at home. I had my colours done by CMB last year which has helped me a lot and I am actually going again to see a HoC consultant with a friend this week. I wasn't convinced by my previous consultant and having done research on here feel HoC is a better option, the whole experience has really sparked an interest in me about the "science" behind colour analysis and the impact it can have on individuals. I was previulously diagnosed as a spring or light, soft and warm

I'm loving all the coat links as jackets and coats are probably my favourite items of clothing. Also just in the process of buying a house which needs a lot of work so am enjoying seeing your kitchen ideas, although I'm about to embark on a serious spending ban so had to get one last bag in sharpish!

I would love to be able to contribute to the thread but will probably end up staying as a lurker as I feel if I can't commit and contribute properly i'd rather not at all if you know what I mean.

shopafrolic · 23/09/2013 21:46

Drywhiteplease · 23/09/2013 21:47

Ahem MrsSleepiness it's not all fashion talk on here....do stay! even if you're not spending you can still lust .

MarshaBrady · 23/09/2013 21:48

MrsSheep Selfridges?

Annianni · 23/09/2013 21:50

MrsSheep haven't you been on here before?
I'm already following you on pin from ages ago.

Drywhiteplease · 23/09/2013 21:50

Thanks Anni ......and meant to say Mig although I'm a bit dim and stress at little things, I'm pretty calm in A and E situations or when DH decides to do some crazy life threatening stunt!

MrsSleepiness I used to be a fashion retail manager in my former life bCs

MrsSheepiness · 23/09/2013 21:50

I get very excited when you link from their terrible website and have to hide the many threads on here slating us, although I do agree with some of it, and feed it back into the business any idea yet Shop?

MrsSheepiness · 23/09/2013 21:52

I wish Marsha although did turn them down when headhunted to stay with my employer, have asked myself why on many occasions, thinking of the money I'd have saved on my bags!

shopafrolic · 23/09/2013 21:53

Cos or M&S?

OP posts:
MrsSheepiness · 23/09/2013 21:56

Yes Anni I delurked briefly around the time of the bargain arty rings in the NaP sale but went into hiding again shortly after. I do catch up with the thread every day and look forward to seeing the links, please don't think I'm odd, lurking is a wierd concept really though, I'm not a voyeur in real life!

Drywhiteplease · 23/09/2013 21:57

M and S!!!!

MarshaBrady · 23/09/2013 21:58

Headhunted that's good! I applied for a job at Selfridges once, I have zero retail experience. But that employee discount looked nice.

Annianni · 23/09/2013 21:59

I thought so.

Ditto what everyone else has said MrsSheep... Gorgeous bags Envy

Sleepwhenidie · 23/09/2013 22:00

He's just about to get on the plane home Dry. I am very pleased about that Smile. Today was fine, Mondays always busy here, all DC's have after school activities, so exhausted by the time they come home. I also had nanny back so that makes a world of difference Smile. Relative calm in the sleep household Smile.

shopafrolic · 23/09/2013 22:02

Nice one Sleep well done you

MrsSheepiness · 23/09/2013 22:03

Spot on Dry!

MrsSheepiness · 23/09/2013 22:04

Don't know if I would have liked working for them Marsha but the discount would have helped ease that enormously!

Drywhiteplease · 23/09/2013 22:05

I'm really pleased with my animal print slippers MrsS fab! sold out, lots of comments.

shopafrolic · 23/09/2013 22:08

Nice one MrsS you'll have to feedback all the good stuff about their beauty dept too though. I was v impressed. Lots of my old colleagues headed for M&S. Have you left work completely now to be a SAHM? I left my role and can definitely identify with you saying about losing your way.....

OP posts:
MrsSheepiness · 23/09/2013 22:09

Good, I'm glad you like them Dry I do love it when I see a link. I might not do my job any more but I still love the company, it's the kind of place that I think gets right under your skin and I desperately want them to do well.

Drywhiteplease · 23/09/2013 22:11

Is it true MrsS that if your waters broke in M and S they gave you gift vouchers......spent ages in there when I was over due Grin

MarshaBrady · 23/09/2013 22:11

They really are on the right track with the new designer.. that press link I saw on here anyway. More of that type of stuff. With cheaper and middle prices. People do want them to do well, so I think they can with a bit of that leopard shoe focus.

santamarianovella · 23/09/2013 22:12

mrssheep do stay, and join the chat,as you must have read,we talk about everything on this thread,im really intrigued about the retailer ,
marsha i actually know someone who works at selfridges, its very hard work, and the discount doesnt even make up to how hard they employees work.
