It's 115 days to Christmas Eve!

You can use this thread exactly like you were using the previous thread to keep track of what you're doing, have lists, ask advice etc. As its about renovation rather than strictly beauty, nothing is off limits so beauty, clothes, exercise, healthy eating.

So here we go!

Lucysmam which quick dry spray do you use?

Morning routine done, makeup on. Wearing new green skinnies and coordinating top. Need to put earrings in but Dd1 is currently doing my hair...

bigkidsdidit · 24/09/2013 11:05

What top coat do you all use? I've tried seche vite which people rave about but it comes off my nails in sheets Hmm

JemimaPuddle · 24/09/2013 11:26

I use Seche vite but don't find it peels at all. Nails inc caviar top coat is quite good but not quite as fast drying as Seche.

lucysmam · 24/09/2013 11:29

Jemima its from Poundworld (the green one...not sure if it is poundworld) only bought it on the off chance it did work but didnt expect it to. It's in a pink tin, called Pretty Perfect Nail Drying Spray.

Morning routine all done, no earrings in though because I forgot to get them out last night...just for a change.

Am thinking I might venture back to Primark tomorrow depending how much cash is in the bank & see if I can find a new outfit. And pick up some hoop earrings I spied (and possibly four nail polishes for two quid to play with).....need to get onesies for Christmas for the kids too. Dd1's room is not going as well as dd2's yesterday, dd2 is much more snuggly when poorly ...dd1 just wants to be left to mope most of the time Confused

JemimaMuddledUp · 24/09/2013 12:48

I'm currently using Rimmel Top Coat. I like their big brushes, it makes it really easy to apply and I find it looks smoother. I used to use a Virgin Vie 2in1 base and top coat, but that often went bubbly.

Karbea · 24/09/2013 13:17

I use seche when I don't have gels, varnish does seem to shrink a bit with it tho.

ControlGeek · 24/09/2013 13:57

I use Max Factor 7 day gloss top coat, it really is glossy but the tips tend to chip after a day or two, and if you apply it too quickly it can dissolve and thin the nail varnish underneath which makes it look a bit patchy. It dries very quickly though.

Well, I've gone and done it - blown £100 on a set of GHD V plums. That's me spent up until the end of next month then! DP has agreed to get me my chosen set of heated rollers for my birthday, too, so that should be me completely sorted.

HelgatheHairy · 24/09/2013 14:13

lucysmam I get the Penny's (Primark) nail varnish every now and again and it's actually really good! All the ones I have tried have been anyway. I have a few gorgeous metallic ones including a fab rose gold one.

Ta Da
Went for a mid afternoon run.

Now do I brave the school run looking like a sweaty mess in my running kit, or risk being late by grabbing a shower first?

lucysmam · 24/09/2013 15:13

Oooh, rose gold one sounds pretty Helga, I will have to see if I can spy that.

Control enjoy the ghd's! Grin I wouldn't be without mine again, they're amazing!

I have managed to deep clean dd1's room, except the curtain didn't get a wash because the stubborn fucker didn't want to come down off the tracking.Hmm Am going to try and convince her to let me make it a bit more grown up too....take all the random crap off the walls and get a couple of new pictures or photo's.

I'll do stairs/landing tomorrow afternoon. Only a small job but I'm off out and about to run several errands since the girls will be back at school Hmm

HelgatheHairy · 24/09/2013 16:33

lucysmam I think it was last Christmas I got the rose gold one so they might have something similar this year.

Afternoon ladies!
Legs and bits waxed, nails painted. Need to veet the old moustache yet ;)
Next bath the dog (he and my uggs got super muddy!), then I want to tidy for an hour, thinking if I do an hr a day the house might stay nice????
So all in all, everything's going well except diet! Grrr!

lucysmam · 24/09/2013 17:09

You've just reminded me karbea, need to get the epilator on my top lip!

Helga they had some sets in the other day that looked stocking filler ish....maybe there'll be something with them.

justkeeponsmiling · 24/09/2013 17:35

Well, I've had a major defuzzing session with the epilator this morning - legs, underarms and the luuurve garden (ouch!). Gave the latter one a strim with DHs beard trimmer first but had a bit of a slip so razored a bald patch right in the centre... looks like I'm balding now! Also I fear this means I will have to fess up to DH, who up to now didn't know about the trimmer doubling up as a ladyshaver Grin .
Also used the elasticiser for the first time this morning, can't see a blind bit of difference! Anyone else used it yet? I'm wondering if it's just me?

Still not done my shred dvd, I'm ashamed to say! Maybe later on today! Although I had planned to spend the evening giving myself a mani/pedi and putting on new nailvarnish, instead of waiting that the one I'm currently looks all manky and chipped like I usually do Hmmm what to do...

I'm wearing my new high waisted skinnies today, can't decide if I like them or not, they seem massive, like maternity trousers! Although no visible muffintop/lovehandles, so that's definitelya plus!

Karbea · 24/09/2013 17:59

How long did you leave elastersizer on for?

ControlGeek · 24/09/2013 18:27

smiling I thought that too - I did exactly what it said to do, but if anything I thought my hair was more unruly afterwards than if I hadn't used it. I thought it was just me Confused Serious OUCH to your epilation of your lurve garden though I can cope with waxing, but I can't even epilate my legs, I have to shave.

DP is off to a class this evening, so I will have the house to myself for almost two hours. I plan to shred, shower and sort my hair out. I'd hoped to have time to start going through some clothes or one of my makeup drawers but I don't think I'll have time to do that as well. Oh well, better to be realistic I suppose!

justkeeponsmiling · 24/09/2013 18:40

control I'm glad I'm not the only one! If anything it made it a little more frizzy!
karbea I left it on for 20 mins or so, even covered it with a plastic bag (a matalan one Grin ) , so tried to follow the instructions!
control that sounds like a good plan! Have you shredded for long? Do you do it every day!

Karbea · 24/09/2013 18:42

I sleep in it when I use it.

ControlGeek · 24/09/2013 18:46

smiling today's my first day - I did one day of level 1 a few weeks back but didn't keep it up. I did all 30 days earlier in the year and saw a massive difference, mostly in terms of shape but also to a lesser degree in weight, and want to get that back.

karbea did you cover your hair while you slept on it? I used a plastic shower cap on it for the 20 minutes that it said, then did my normal wash, conditioner, dry, straighten and oil routine and my hair just went... FRIZZZZ!

IsThatTrue · 24/09/2013 18:51

ControlGeek · 24/09/2013 19:11

Right, I'm changed. Just need to put swap the clothes on the dryer.

ControlGeek · 24/09/2013 19:16

Karbea · 24/09/2013 19:19

Yes slept in a shower cap. DH was not impressed haha! My menagerie have all had boiled chicken tonight, so it took ages they weren't happy... Until I put it down then smiley faces all round, now lots of licking lips :)
