HelgatheHairy · 01/09/2013 07:31

It's 115 days to Christmas Eve!

You can use this thread exactly like you were using the previous thread to keep track of what you're doing, have lists, ask advice etc. As its about renovation rather than strictly beauty, nothing is off limits so beauty, clothes, exercise, healthy eating.

So here we go!

Well, last night's alcohol consumption puts notquiteperfect in the shade last night - two pints of beer, a glass of wine and about a third(ish) of bottle of pimms. Went to bed out of my tree at about half three in the morning. Paying for it now in every way, but have cleared the air with DP about a lot of issues that I hadn't even realised were bothering me. Feeling a lot better for that, but a lot worse for the alcohol.

Have decided that Saturday and Monday will be next week's fast days. Hair done, makeup on, normal (but smart) work clothes on.

NotQuitePerfect · 06/09/2013 08:25

Good work Contol glad some good came of your binge at least!

ELR · 06/09/2013 09:21

control seeing the tree cutters fit son must have sent you into an alcohol frenzy! Well done in clearing the air with dp there's nothing worse than underlying issues. Now you can start afresh and enjoy your weekend.

Snapespeare · 06/09/2013 09:29

Footner is amazing, it is so oo oo satisfying picking thick dead skin off of ones feet. Grin

Paintyourbox · 06/09/2013 09:43

A successful morning!

Ta dahs:

  1. Exfoliated
  2. Defuzzed
  3. Moisturised
  4. Makeup done
  5. Hair cut and blow dried
  6. Cellulite cream applied.
  7. Feet filed and foot cream applied.

Now drinking hot water with a slice of lemon and eating a healthy breakfast of fruit and yoghurt whilst DP and BIL munch pastries (that I got from the baker for them!)

LetMeAtTheWine don't be so hard on yourself! If it feels too much just focus on doing one thing off the list every day and gradually build up! Doing something is better than doing nothing!

Paintyourbox · 06/09/2013 09:46

Haha notquite and control a surprise dinner visit from my PILS (they literally turned up whilst I was making dinner and invited themselves to stay!) meant that I necked several gin and tonics and also half a bottle of wine last night.

Had a mouth like a badgers bottom this morning!

lucysmam · 06/09/2013 10:10

good morning all Smile

Morning routine all done here. Full face of make up AND I remembered earrings!Shock again. Am wearing a heather ish coloured fine knit today (same eight quid jumper as cream one from Tuesday...they're lovely for 8quid!) with some faded indigo skinnies....bare feet atm because my shoes got soaked in the rain Confused but plan to get out my beautiful embroidered boots to pick up dd1 (because they seem to be the only boots I have Hmm ).

Going to do some repairs to a couple of other tops shortly since me and my smallest are staying in avoiding the rain. It's bloody horrible today after a week of glorious sunshine. Will catch up on the washing too.

Am just having a Brew to warm up because it's bloody cold then switch to water for the day.

I need boots if anyone has seen any nice ones around? I have spied a pair but £100 is causing dp's face to do Hmm Confused Grin all together at me!

Todays plan is to fix clothes shortly, start deep cleaning dd2's bedroom apart from washing curtains. Then this evening I'm going to change toe nail polish and paint finger nails since they didn't get done Tuesday or any other day yet.

HelgatheHairy · 06/09/2013 10:55

I'm starting to feel like a hobbit! I have breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses etc. Can people suggest healthy, filling food that ideally I can eat one handed?

OP posts:
lucysmam · 06/09/2013 11:16

porridge!

I am currently eyeing up the jar of nutella for elevenses Confused ....have no bread in and forgot to put it on shopping so it would be just the nutella Blush

bigkidsdidit · 06/09/2013 11:19

Today for me is Callanetics DVD then body brush and Epsom salts bath. Also doing the online shop for low carb bootcamp. I read Red magazine this morning too to get ideas of what clothes I want to buy once I'm thin again!

bigkidsdidit · 06/09/2013 11:20

I just had a tablespoon of nutella lucy'smam Grin and hid it from my toddler! It was lovely.

lucidlady · 06/09/2013 11:23

Helga, this may feel a step too far at the moment but what about bananas, carrots etc? Fruit is great for snacking if you can get some stocks in, like grapes etc. how old is your little one? I remember the early days. I think I survived solely on toast when DD was tiny! They do pass though. You WILL ey your hands back!

lucidlady · 06/09/2013 11:23

Ey = get

bigkidsdidit · 06/09/2013 11:24

Do you have a sling Helga? My baby's been asleep for 2 hours in my sling (a close wrap) so far, I've been for a walk with the toddler but also made sandwiches and had a coffee and things. And nutella, obviously. Out of the sling he'd nap 30 mins max and want held all the time!

lucysmam · 06/09/2013 11:36

We used a sling with dd2....I agree they are a godsend for non-put-down-able babies!

Grin at you hiding the nutella from your tiddler bigkids...mine has her gogogadget ears on today....literally the second I open a drawer or cupboard she is here!

Elastic done in one pair of trousers, jacket to sort shortly. am being pestered for lunch though and haven't got much in to replace a sarny Confused

Cocochops · 06/09/2013 11:51

Morning all

Just checking in

paint that is very restrained I definitely wouldn't have been able to resist the pastries
caz I have hot water lemon first thing don't mind it too much then have a coffee about 10 which I really look forward to!

The following have now become routine and much easier to remember now

Hot lemon water daily
Hot cloth cleanser eye cream foot moisturise hand moisturise nightly
Exfoliating/shaving
Basic make up daily
Fruit and veg am trying for 7 which means I normally at least manage 5 so happy with that
Water normally manage 8 this is a bit of an effort and have to force myself. Hot water lemon helps though as that counts as 1!

Have also painted nails this week may find this hard to do weekly but will try and removed chipped polish straight away. Have had no alcohol this week so looking forward to Wine tonight.

Have been absolutely rubbish at
Vitamins
Exercise
DIY facial
Early night
Doing anything with my hair

HelgatheHairy · 06/09/2013 11:56

I have a sling but forget about it sometimes! I'm thinking bananas and apples ( I've been eating apples and chocolate together, yum!) Carrots are a step too far Smile

DD is 4 weeks tomorrow! Can't believe she's a month already.

OP posts:
lucysmam · 06/09/2013 12:15

Flies doesn't it Helga! My smallest is four in December...feels like five mins since she was a teeny tot Smile

Well, my asda delivery has just been cancelled...due to broken down van Confused Surely they have spares Hmm . So now I'm trying to either get MIL to come play with small while I walk up or trekking both girls up after school

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/09/2013 13:45
Grin Ha. I work 3 days, Wednesday I got the DC to school and ready for school (DD Yr 7 DS Yr9) So today, got DC to school, tidied, sorted house stuff. No make-up , shower, teeth, L'Occitane cream (blue jar) Then went swimming.

Flipping heck, I think I've maimed myself.
Did 10 (very feeble) lengths then a shower and now I'm rats tail hair (still no make-up)

Coffee and shopping now.
I'm going to weigh myself and measure hips, waist, boobs but that's not for public knowledge.

Ooh, Ooh. I ordered some Sketchers shoes from QVC (for work) I can wear black lace-ups as long as they are sensible. Don't have to be glam. And these aren't

lucysmam · 06/09/2013 14:18

hmmmm...MIL isn't feeling well & dp not answering phone....will be lucky dip for tea then Grin

Asda now coming tomorrow....offered free delivery but am using fiver delivery pass for the month so not really much use Confused

Had a Brew on the sofa with a mag a bit ago. dd2 fell asleep in dp's side of the bed...was veeeeery peaceful!

CMP69 · 06/09/2013 14:54

...

Parsnipcake · 06/09/2013 14:58

I have been making an effort for a week and have been asked out by 3 men and propositioned by a taxi driver. I am 42, and have a 3 month old baby with me, i'm definitely not giving off 'available' vibes It felt quite flattering but it's beginning to put me off.

CMP69 · 06/09/2013 15:00

Hello,
Been lurking for a while, but got weighed today and have gained 2kg in a month Shock and I am a dietitian Blush
DH birthday today, so will have to start tomorrow.
Will do a proper list on the PC tomorrow if i'm not too hungover from dinner out tonight Grin

JemimaMuddledUp · 06/09/2013 15:17

Helga if I don't snack I get really hungry and then make bad food choices. So snacking works for me.

On a normal day I will eat:
Breakfast: bowl of fruit and fibre with sliced banana on top and semi skimmed milk, a glass of OJ.
Mid morning: an apple and a fruit tea
Lunch: Soup (today it was carrot and coriander), a small wholemeal roll and a small piece of reduced fat cheese, a tangerine
Mid afternoon: some dried fruit (I like the little snack packs of prunes)
Supper: Cooked meal eg chicken with wholemeal pasta and salad
Evening: yoghurt and fruit

As long as your snacks are fairly healthy it works fine. I also have been getting graze boxes, purely because they help with portion control. I know it is cheaper to buy big bags of dried fruit etc, but I can't trust myself not to munch my way through the lot Blush

HelgatheHairy · 06/09/2013 15:46

Thanks all. All the 'bad' food has been finished off so will put healthy stuff on the shopping list. I find the more sugar I have the more I want so its better not to have any in the house.
