Where do you love to shop for your kids? And what are your favourite brand/s?

My mum gets a lot of stuff from america like carters and gap which are nice.

I have long limbed boys, so the best brands for them (and which I enjoy buying from are):-

H & M (their cords are fab)
Gap (1969 jeans- wash wonderfully)
Sainsbury's TU range
M & S
The odd bit from Boots Mini Club (esp. when I have vouchers)

I sometimes pick up a few odds and ends from TK Maxx- cuurently coveting a Ralph Lauren jumper...

Next and Boden skinny jeans for ds who is well, very skinny. He's nearly 13 but wearing an age 11. Tiny (dad's 6ft 3" so, he should grow eventually!)

Tops mostly Boden as he likes bright bright colours and they do them.
Gap (Outlet stores)
Some Zara, for shirts.
Sainsbury's for undies /vests etc
Always North Face or Berghaus for coats/jackets as he's a cold bod!

Sainsburys, Next, M&S and Primark. The latter, surprisingly, have a lot of clothes that seem to be cut for cloth.

DS1 is loving some Boden tops, but the trousers don't fit well on either of my two boys.

I shop in Boden, Fat face, Zara, the odd things from Next, John Lewis, Monsoon, Claires Accessories, M&S for undies.

I suppose it depends how old DCs are. My dd is 8 and wants to be fashionable and wear the latest trends so finding shops which allow this without her looking like a mini adult/teenager is tricky. She wouldn't be seen dead in any of those retro type children's clothes in the OP.

OP, do you really get all your DC clothes from the palces you listed? Apart from a couple (eg GAP), they are all expensive designer type brands. When younger my DC had a few items from some of these, but certainly not whole wardrobe.

My DC are older (8 and 9) and it is mainly Boden/Johnny B, GAP, Fat Face, Zara, Next, H&M and a bit from the dreaded Hollister (plus US rellies send over stuff from Abercrombie kids for birthdays etc which they love). I still love a nice Ilovegorgeous dress, but they refuse to wear that kind of thing now.

Alex and Alexa is a shop selling different brands, rather than a brand itself, I thought.

I no longer like Rachel Riley (alas) they seem to be more old fashioned more recently, but not in a good way, recently (I don't know if you've found and the customer service is pretty poor). Marie chantal similar. Ilovegorgeous can be nice, but the quality doesn't match the price and you see too many photos (posted by them) of celebs wearing it.

alex and alexa have a brand called Kickle, but not much variety.

I buy clothes from anywhere, cheap and cheerful....we don't do clothes for good, so you quickly learn that most clothes will get covered in paint, dirt etc so better to buy cheap and avoid the stress.

I never compromise on shoes and coats though. I always buy good quality European shoes, they still get bashed around but the leather, the fit and the comfort is definitely worth it.

I like No Added Sugar (only in the sale) / Gap (when they send the 30% discount vouchers) / the giant bags of handdowns from lovely godparents.

Boden for tights.

Gosh, I rarely buy expensive clothes for the DC. I don't see the point. A few months and they've grown out of them. Or trashed them.

That's about it. If I'm out away I tend to pick up a few bits in supermarkets like Carrefour just because the clothes are a bit different

But like snowlie I always spend on coats and shoes.

We get quite a few expensive hand-me-downs from friends. DCs so far have no preference for these expensive labelled goods. (Yet)

I love sarah louise for their hand smocked dresses and mayoral for their more fashionable clothes. I also buy alot from jojo maman bebe their cord dresses wash beautifully and monsoon. I used to love mamas and papas too but alas dd is too big for their range now they should do childrens wear upto 5.

Mine are older now, so they like Hollister, Jack Wills, Abercrombie, Topshop etc.

They still wear Johnnie B, H&M, and Zara.

When they were kids I favoured M&S, Gap, Mini Boden, Zara, H&M, Joules, Laura Ashley, Redoute, Verbaudet, Sainsburys and Tesco. For posh bits or sale buys, I liked Cyrillus, Petit Bateau and Little White Company.

Gosh our two always manage to look good but DW buys choosily from:

TK Maxx
Primark but with great care (DD has a fab tartan party dress that a lady mistook for Vivienne Westwood it's so funky!)
Boden (occasionally and only recently)
Gap (but again only occassionally when something really catches her eye)

DD in particular is a very quirky dresser so manages to make all her outfits look eye-catching.

I really don't see the point of spending loads of money on children's clothes, not unless you have several of the same gender and can hand them down.
