Right, I bloody hate summer clothes

I have a list of reasons I look bloody awful in summer clothes including eczema and general squashiness - do I have to buy that Cath Kidston teepee to look remotely summery or is there something I can do, short of...er...some mad head transplant surgery onto someone willowy?

OK, I'll take lack of replies a sign that everyone is too kind to tell me...

No Mo,I think that's nice.
Huge article on bunions in today's Telegraph btw.

mousiemousie · 09/06/2006 19:09

go to H&M and buy some patterned stuff.

Patterns are not boring and quite forgiving to less than perfect figures. H&M have stuff to suit everyone and its all cheap too Smile

Well I am not emaciated by any means and I love summery clothes! I like longish linen or denim skirts (not really long sort of mid calf) and my upper arms are ok so I do wear short sleeves but NOT bootstraps. I like cool poplin indiany and linen tops.

HOW can you not wear anyting with a toe post? That rules out most summer shoes. Just go with the pain for a couple of days or break in gently in the house if you must

Am I the only one who looks a crumpled mess after 10 minutes in linen trousers?

CountessDracula · 09/06/2006 19:24

oh yes and linen trousers of course

No I iron them with spray starch they stay ok for a while

moondog · 09/06/2006 19:26

But surely whole point of linen is to look crumpled and slightly louche CD?

CountessDracula · 09/06/2006 19:29

yy but not like an old rag, starch just helps them last a bit longer

Thx Moondog (great name btw), M02, LadyCod, Mousie and Countess Drac for steering back the thread on to more positive road ...! (Was having a REALLY bad hair/body/clothes day on Fri :0!!! Will try some patterns for lower half (really like the skirt M02)and wearing a dark t-shirt is a good tip too. I always tend to go for white (dunno why) on top which is prob. where I go wrong. Will try H&M Mousie too. A bit of creasing in linen trousers or skirt fine imo as long as you're not creased all over (she says ignoring facial wrinkles!!). I guess it's just a question (like so many things in life) of having to work harder as you get older... just wish it didn't take four hours to find one small item that fits though !!!! :( lol!!
