Mig, I like those! Progress on the big things yes but the little important things are v slow still!

LinusDKD · 27/06/2013 06:53

Morning!

mig santa I hope you had a good night Wink

shop any luck in the necklace hunt?

novice wow, things are really going forward.

As the weather is pretty horrible today I am probably going to wear my Jimmies with a breton of some kind, maybe the red RL one. Or the one that looks best with my iris blue Supergas.

shopafrolic · 27/06/2013 07:32

Morning Linus - yup ordered 3 from the Outnet to try. They're on my Considering board on Pin.

LinusDKD · 27/06/2013 07:52

Ooh I really like the first two necklaces! The orange one especially. I hope they are nice IRL.

So it's Jimmies, by Malene Birger breton and Supergas with blue Chan Luu bracelet and two yellow gold bangles I got for my 18th birthday.

Drywhiteplease · 27/06/2013 07:53

Ok with me luck......40 odd 4-6 yr olds on a forest trip,NO LOO........5hrs childless young collegue says they can just squat in a bush,.....bloody hell it's going to be carnage ...... Am wearing skinny jeans,Gap fluorescent stripe top,best,Hunters, greyish greeny lightweight parka....DDs pink rucksack, Valium

Drywhiteplease · 27/06/2013 07:53

"Vest" not best!

mignonette · 27/06/2013 07:58

My head hurts.............................

Good morning everyone.

It's team meeting Thursday so will have to spend three hours in a stuffy window-less room....Weather holds some promise and I have at last got a fridge full of strawberries from our allotment and will need to go pick more after work. If anybody wants recommendations as to what variety, Cambridge Favourite and Gariguette are my tried and tested ones for flavour, vigour and fruiting. Made a monster Meringue base last night with Demerara sugar which came out all golden and chewy inside (Yay) and will fill it with Vanilla bean flavoured cream so plan to go out on a sugar high today....

What to wear? I want an Indian Paisley style print skirt in browns/golds/reds/creams. It need to be knee length or just above, not clinging, maybe slightly A line....Anyone seen one? Isabel Marant did similar prints a while ago but only now have I come on board...

I think I will wear a Tobacco colour blouse (old La Redoute) with Gap skinny leg rolled cuff pants in Navy. No belt but plan to pin a brooch onto the side of the waistband (an old Art Deco Pheasant from my GM) to tart them up and hope it doesn't impale me mid meeting. On my feet are tan Brogues from Gap. They have a thin silver line where the upper is stitched to the sole.

Hope the necklaces turn out well Shop. I ordered loads more books yesterday including the 'Astronauts Wives Club' and more cookbooks. Because I so need more....

mignonette · 27/06/2013 07:59

Dry watch out for carnivorous Ticks too. Best of luck in that forest....That is some task. Will stop moaning about my morning as yours has trumped mine....Grin

shopafrolic · 27/06/2013 08:28

Dry surely a tin hat and gun should be added to your outfit! (And a toilet roll dispenser). Good luck.
Mig hoping the shoulder worked for you last night so you can sit with a secret smile on your face in your meeting :)
Hayfever is killing me. My eyes have swollen up - I look gross.

BrandyAlexander · 27/06/2013 09:03

Shudder at the thought of 40 4 year olds!

I am wearing an old Coast dress this morning. They used to do lovely dresses that were glam for the office but not over the top. It's peach on top with loads of black beads sewn on and then the bottom half is black. Looks like a skirt and top but is actually an all in one so great silhouette. My nude Aspinal Hepburn bag again with some lovely nude coloured strappy low heels that I got from Carvella last summer. They were like £25, look amazing and so comfortable! Trying to mix up my jewelry post holidays, so wearing gold this morning. A bangle watch I have had for 20 years and a bracelet that my parents had made for me as a wedding present. Guiltily, I have barely worn it.Blush

Have lovely days!

MarshaBrady · 27/06/2013 09:04

Good morning. Sunshine

Good luck today Mignon and Dry.

Oh no Shop, awful feeling like that.

Has anyone read a good summer holiday book lately?

MarshaBrady · 27/06/2013 09:05

Sounds lovely Novice really great news on the charity, so good.

foxysocks · 27/06/2013 09:44

I am pmsl at the one shoulder trick! love it mig

books are in my top five favourite topics marsha, along with clothes, tennis, yoga and ... hmmm. wine?

anyway, what do you like? if you are into psych thrillers Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn is brill. I also loved Sharp Objects by the same author. Sister by Rosamund Lupton also super.

I just read American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld which was ace. If you have never read her book Prep you totally should
.
Lionel Shriver's Big Brother excellent. Have you read any Jessica Ruston? she is a friend of mine and an excellent write. Luxury, The Lies you told Me, Come to Dinner, The Darker Side of Love. All aces.

wearing CE cargos again (love em) with grey vest (j crew), denim jacket (j crew) and nude high tops (ash) for SR but will switch to havs later as it seems to be warming up.

MarshaBrady · 27/06/2013 09:48

LinusDKD · 27/06/2013 09:49

LinusDKD · 27/06/2013 10:23

Not knee length, but nice colours

Ralph Lauren

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 27/06/2013 10:46

Marsha I stick to lightweights on holiday. I have a few loaded on my Kindle for when I'm travelling, currently include The Hive by Gill Hornby, Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris (anything by him is v funny) and just about to order NW by Zadie Smith. Nothing challenging, but entertaining.

Linus How dare you tempt me with that beautiful skirt Wink

Good luck with your days mig and Dry

mignonette · 27/06/2013 11:04

Coffee break time.....Yes the shoulder worked Wink....

I seem to have acquired 4 new referrals so far and meeting has another hour to go. Am already at capacity Sad...

Shop There are dome great sunglasses online at TK Maxx for swollen eye glamour-hide. Have you dabbed a little blob of Vaseline inside each nostril? That'll make you look even more attractive (evil Wink)?

Foxy Curtis Sittinfield has a brand new novel out here. I love American novels and a bit of food writing. Reading Best Food Writing 2012 edited by Holly Hughes, American Ghosts by Janice Owens and re reading Lawrence's Sons and Lovers.

Linus love the RL print but too long and that Balenciaga is just fabulous. Reminds me a little of Christopher Kane and is still referencing Nicholas Ghesquiere from when he was creative director at B.

mignonette · 27/06/2013 11:06

Grumpy The Times was giving away a £2-99 copy of NW with a purchase of the newspaper in WHSmith last week. A few copies still available.

LinusDKD · 27/06/2013 11:37

If I looked good in jumpers I would so buy J Crew

LinusDKD · 27/06/2013 11:39

A cool pink for mig

pink

LinusDKD · 27/06/2013 11:43

If you have nice legs:

Crumpet

mignonette · 27/06/2013 12:04

That Valentino twinset reminds me of a Dior cardigan/sweater that I was desperate to find and i never could. It had a twisted front that made it resemble a badly buttoned up cardigan. Cannot find a picture for you all.

Here are a few quick pins of items I am considering from N&P sale-

Stella bra;

a nightwear playsuit that Gwen might like too;
A pair of boyshorts to wear with the bra here;

this Stella camisole would look good with a jean or pant in the day;

this Band of Outsiders skirt was styled with this cute Missoni bag. I don't normally buy 'outfit' suggestions from NAP but this caught my eye big time;

Balmain for about £90 from Hervia ;

Balmain for £150!;

navy dress;

more Balmain for only £56

mignonette · 27/06/2013 12:06

Forgot this luscious Rochas metallic bag

mignonette · 27/06/2013 12:17

Sorry for the deluge but I have to post when I can.

Look what I found- discount Giambattista Vialli shoes ob Cocosa here. I love these but goodness knows where I would wear them....

And here is a divine Preen dress. Lots more on this page.
