give the 14 year old you one piece of beauty advice what would it be ?

Mine would be - always use a moisturiser with a SPF.

Told this little gem to my DD at the weekend and I thought there's got to be some other ones I'm missing and thought "I know who to ask".... over to you now S and B Ladies Smile

Don't wash your face morning and night - it just aggravates the oil glands and gives you worse zits.

Don't shave your legs
I am sure I wouldn't have to do it now - hairs on my thighs are uber blonde and not long

Deal with facial hair as soon as possible, wish Id had the means to do that earlier.

Don't diet. It never ends. 8.5 stone is fine.

Jelly15 · 18/06/2013 14:26

Stay, or get to and stay in a healthy weight range and never yo yo diet, your skin won't snap back when you are 40 and lose weight, also learn to love excercise.

With the don't shave your legs message, do you mean "go natural" or remove the hair in some other way?

Do not cut a fringe in, just back away from the scissors Shock

LaQueen we had a windbreak that was silver on the one side and I would sunbathe with that facing me, so to reflect the sun on to my face, which was coated in oil (baby oil Blush ). If you've seen the film "Something About Mary" you'll know what I mean.

I wish I had learnt to sleep on my back and not on my side - with one side of my face "squished" into the pillow. This has resulted in one side of my face, especially around the eye, being a lot more creased that the other side !

I may have gone natural?
I dunno
But the hairs that are there now are nothing like the ones before.

I thought the darkening hair was an age thing!

Never start shaving your legs - if you start waxing/epilating the hair will get finer and you won't feel like an ape anymore. Stop worrying about your hairy arms ... Nobody notices.
Ignore your brother ... You do not have a fat arse so you don't need to wear long jumpers all the time.
Don't try to save money by getting your hair permed at the same place your Nan goes. And don't cut your long hair off just to piss your mum off.
Oh... And please go to university instead of getting married at 18!

My 14 year old self would be disgusted at the boring conformist I have become. I was planning to be a goth forever.

My beauty advice would be to: wear what you like and feel comfortable with and don't stress about what other people think. Be yourself and don't feel you have to conform.

(however if you want to conform, that's fine too) Smile

I'd also say remember you are young enough to get away with anything, ANYTHING! outrageous colours/glitters/metallics that (on me anyway) doesn't quite look right when you get to forty something. Wink

AKiss same here!

Get your bra properly fitted, girl, instead of just jigging around in the changing room.

However, your plucked out eyebrows will return (and a better shape), and well done for persisting with the GP to sort out your acne. By 25 you'll have given up daily foundation.

Bra size - don't assume that your boobs getting bigger = a bigger band size. Don't be shy and get measured! You are a 30g not a 36c.

And don't wear your aunty's hand-me-down bras.

Stop worrying about what other people think of you, being different is good and they are as insecure as you.

I think the main message would be to tell my teenage self I was not fat but just to get a decent sports bra and trainers and start running earlier than 21 and how to do it. Also to chill the fuck out. Boys do like you.

Actually my mum said most of these things, my dad tried to take me running so it would probably have made not one jot of difference!

My mum took me to a pamper evening at 13 and from then on I was pretty hot on the old cleanse, tone and moisturise.

Jux · 18/06/2013 20:42

To my 14 yo self - actually you're pretty bloody lovely as you are so believe in yourself (and you're not fat either).

That'll do.

I wouldn't have believed me though Grin

You are gorgeous, really genuinely so. You don't attract male attention because of your brain, you fool, they don't give a shite about that. So look after yourself and don't sleep with the first prick who compliments you.

And please be gentle to your skin, keep it clean, wash and moisturise twice a day and go to a doctor for harsh drugs to get rid of the acne. It will revolutionise how you see yourself.

And just... Dunno. Believe you're worth it, or summat.

Sun block always on the face, throat and backs of hands. Then fake tan. Factor 30 for the rest.

Try to forget what you look like. Mascara and lip gloss is really enough for youth.

Keep everything simple. Keep some things to the imagination. There is no rush.

Then enjoy yourself and forget how you look.
