give the 14 year old you one piece of beauty advice what would it be ?

Mine would be - always use a moisturiser with a SPF.

Told this little gem to my DD at the weekend and I thought there's got to be some other ones I'm missing and thought "I know who to ask".... over to you now S and B Ladies Smile

Perming your hair as a teenager is an error, but everyone makes mistakes. To do it again at 24 is stupidity.
Celebrate your youthful skin- you look much better than you think.
And really, 9 stone is NOT fat.

HesterShaw · 17/06/2013 22:02

Make the most of your fresh dewy lovely skin and don't try and hide your freckles.

DON'T GET SUNBURNT!

Showtime · 17/06/2013 23:12

It's worth saving up to have a good haircut at least twice a year, whatever length.
Take care of your feet - it's not worth the pain of badly-fitting shoes or badly-cut toenails.
Extend moisturiser down neck, not face only.
Wash hands and use handcream after using nail-polish remover, it's worse for nails than any polish.

greencolorpack · 17/06/2013 23:18

I could say don't wear stupid stripey jumpers, but I would give that advice to myself today and I still wouldn't listen.

memphis83 · 17/06/2013 23:20

Listen to your mum whem she told you to moisturise everyday, she is 27 years older me and my forehead resembles a ball sack and she is almost wrinkle free.

Have a fixed brace and don't listen to all the girls at schools pisstaking, 15 years later I regret it so much.

Aniseeda · 17/06/2013 23:26

Stop eating spam fritters, chips and beans every day in the school canteen Grin

libertychick · 17/06/2013 23:56

Eat well and do some exercise

MildlyMiserable · 18/06/2013 00:05

Don't smoke
Go to the dentist regularly
Learn to take compliments rather than rebuff them - it's good for the soul!

SupermansBigRedPants · 18/06/2013 00:09

Stop dressing like a boy - your body is beautiful and it's only a couple of years before dd cones along and wrecks your supple non stretch marked flesh. Also, wash more please - you stink, your hair is greasy not 'shiny' and i don't want to wait until i'm 16 to realise these things please, sweetheart, you're bullied for a reason x

AudrinaAdare · 18/06/2013 00:10

God yes, FFS don't start smoking.
And don't shy away from photographs. You will never look better than this!

MiauMau · 18/06/2013 04:52

Do not squeeze your spots and blackheads, they will come back to haunt you.

Bexicles · 18/06/2013 07:14

Stop starving yourself, you are too thin.
One day you will have beautiful skin, stop stressing over a couple of spots.

Eliza22 · 18/06/2013 08:15

Take moisturiser/SPF down to the neck and décolleté.

Wink You're welcome.

Kiwiinkits · 18/06/2013 09:40

That hair dye looks terrible (never trust a small-town hairdresser).

And, you are GORGEOUS! Enjoy it while it lasts!

vladthedisorganised · 18/06/2013 11:02

One size does not fit all. Repeat, one size does not fit all.
You are not fat.
You're likely to find the makeup you're after in Camden :)

LadyBigtoes · 18/06/2013 11:04

Get a short fringe/mohican/asymmetric bob if you want one, don't be so scared.

Stop worrying now about the fact that girly shoes never fit you - they never will, never mind, it affects precisely nothing.

Don't pick your spots (and send a message to your 43-year-old self telling HER not to pick her spots! Confused)

LadyBigtoes · 18/06/2013 11:05

Oh and you can get special make-up for covering up acne. Yes, genius isn't it! If I don't tell you this now you won't realise it until you're 20!

stickygingerbread · 18/06/2013 11:10

don't make a habit of wrinkling your brow, squinting, grimacing or any type of face scrunching. those are the places that wrinkle first. smiling and laughing is of course worth it.

healthy diet including healthy fats makes a huge difference.

HaveAGoodDay · 18/06/2013 11:22

Never get a tattoo on your arm.

If I could have a second it would be never get your hair cut short or colour it as much.

lurkingfromhome · 18/06/2013 11:42

Do NOT pick your spots, young lady. You will be left with scarring that will make you deeply regret it.

And don't get sunburnt either, you fool.

AirMax1 · 18/06/2013 12:02

Step away from the hair straighteners. Limit how often you use a hair dryer.

Don't pluck your eyebrows. Threading is the way forward.

Use an SPF everyday.

Immac (Veet, whatever we're calling it these days) burns.

AirMax1 · 18/06/2013 12:04

Oh, and most importantly: 'feminine hygiene products' were created by the devil. Avoid. Unless you want to suffer years of chemical cystitis.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 18/06/2013 12:17

Ignore your cowbag sister when she pokes your thighs and tells you they're fat - you're 5'7'' and 81/2 stones ffs!

But do learn to run and exercise regularly, and keep it up no matter what stage of life you're at - you don't know it yet but you have scoliosis which will cause you years of pain after having children.
Being fit and strong and having good posture might avoid a lot of that.

And you won't be struggling to start a running regime aged 50 when it might be too late!
