whats the fuss all about and how do you do it. I am thinking of buying Marie Claire with the free Ciate set

I don't know if it was put up on purpose. I showed the link to someone last night, not realising how upsetting it would later be.

And until I read the replies this afternoon, I thought it was me being silly.

BinksToEnlightenment · 07/06/2013 16:52

Speaking as someone with another random phobia, this is. I wouldn't have thought it was transferable.

BalloonSlayer · 07/06/2013 17:00

Claire's Accessories sell lots of those sets.

I would do it with a top coat though as when I did it for DD they only stayed on for about half an hour.

valiumredhead · 07/06/2013 17:21

You wouldn't have to have a phobia to find that link ghastly and upsetting.

GobblersKnob · 07/06/2013 17:40

WTF is that link, I can deal with most shit, I googled dragonbutter, but that is fucking horrible, can mn not just take it down?

Lizzylou · 07/06/2013 17:44

Oh my actual god !
Struggling to see connection between those horrific pictures and a fucking manicure to be honest.

valiumredhead · 07/06/2013 17:45

And why someone would post that when they themselves have a phobia is beyond me.Hmm

freerangeeggs · 07/06/2013 17:49

Oh my fuck what was that???

Ooooh I'm quite fascinated to find that those images creep me out! Not the nails - the nails are fine - but the holey images.

I thought nothing fazed me!

I find the holes quite disturbing though. Off to google and find out why.

lougle · 07/06/2013 18:01

So you guys that have trypopphopia feel a bit queasy when you see a crumpet, then?

OliviaMMumsnet · 07/06/2013 18:04

I am not looking but I have added a warning for you all.

Steffanoid · 07/06/2013 18:14

Olivia im not clicking them either,

when it comes to the nail caviar I press it down when the colour coat is still sticky wet, I put a top coat on mine but a colleague who put top coats on hers melted the caviar, hers were from primami, not sure if that had an effect or not, mine were superdrug and it was when they were just released so they may having improved, mine went rock solid and stayed on.longer than a week Smile

valiumredhead · 07/06/2013 18:19

Well holes on people where people don't have holes normally would freak anyone out clammy!

I don't understand why that link is on a thread about nails ffs it's totally inappropriate. It has really cheesed me off, certainly won't be clicking on any more links on MN after this

tabulahrasa · 07/06/2013 18:24

I d

tabulahrasa · 07/06/2013 18:26

Try again...

I don't have a phobia, bobbly nails are fine, I like crumpets...people with minging holes in them that shouldn't be there is so not the same!

SuzySheepSmellsNice · 07/06/2013 18:36

Most of those photos are fakes, I read something about it (probably on here!) ages ago... Still make my stomach churn though

Lizzylou · 07/06/2013 18:50

I just don't get it.
The point of the photos in the first place and then sharing them on a thread about nails. Anyone would have a phobia of those photos. Fucking weird Hmm

BinksToEnlightenment · 07/06/2013 19:03

I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I think the point of a phobia is that it is intrusive and illogical. So you start seeing it where it's not, like on crumpets or patterns on nails.

RedCurls · 07/06/2013 19:05

I'm now too scared to click the link but at the same time desperate to have a look as you have all reacted so strongly..... SHALL I????

DisappointedHorse · 07/06/2013 19:10

RedCurls, don't!

I made that mistake once not having the faintest idea what it was and now can barely look at a shower head.

Bobbly nails aren't too bad though.

RedCurls · 07/06/2013 19:13

WTF a showerhead? What did you look at?

What is on the link? People with holes in them? Is it like the bloke on embarrassing bodies that had half his face missing?

Also a fan of bobbly nails Smile

lougle · 07/06/2013 19:16

Give OBaA a break, she was just trying to be funny. Who knew that people would react so strongly to digitally modified pictures of round shapes positioned next to each other?

RoooneyMara · 07/06/2013 19:20

What are the pictures of? I'm tempted to click because on another thread about this phobia I did and it wasn't even mildly disturbing to me.

But just in case. Can anyone audio describe?

RoooneyMara · 07/06/2013 19:23

I clicked on the first one, it's mainly crumpets and cheese. and some odd tattoos?
