Foxy I was about to ask exactly that question - is the Boden cashmere better than the Uniqlo and Worth forking out the extra for?

I like the Mini boden stuff this year. The Mini summer collection was awful imo, such thin material and boring.

Just bought some basics for DD age 1. Tights, Pointelle t-shirts and a Gilet. I'll look at the dresses later but like the apron pinny, the colours all seem nice this year. The mint green stuff especially.

Not a lot from me from what I saw, I might get the Isabel jumper. But nothing has really grabbed me yet.

Come on lifeofpo - get with the programme, in one month's time you need to have your winter coat on order. Well according to vogue etc. Wink

Sticky- re the rainy day mac
I have one autumn rainy day mac bought from last year's a/w preview and another s/s one from the sale a few years before. The latter was one of the wackier patterns, hence why it was a still available in my size and a bargain at sale time. My guess with the current patterns offered is that, as none are particularly strident compared to previous offerings, they will all go well so up to you whether you want to buy now or risk waiting for your size to still be available come the sale.
(I love the blue circles one too but want a wool coat this year so wondering about the fifties jacket or the Mia coat).

suebfg · 02/06/2013 20:44

I've ordered the blue circles Rainy Day and the Sage!

stickygingerbread · 03/06/2013 20:31

thank you for the info mamija The 50s jacket and Mia coat are very lovely and would be top of my list were it not for the other items in ahead of them. When will we win a spree, so we can buy it all at once? Grin

mamijacacalys · 03/06/2013 20:48

If only Sticky!
Forgot to report on cashmere to Foxy et al. Can't compare to Uniqlo, as have never bought anything from there, but in my experience, for similar £, the Boden quality is similar, maybe slightly better, than M&S but with better choice of colour and styles. (Of course aspire to Brora but can only afford Boden in the sale or preview and dream of the spree again...!)

Very, very disappointing.

It's all the same styles as last year in different colours.

What the hell have Johnnie's designers been DOING all year??

And all that viscose - yuck.

rootypig · 05/06/2013 14:47

WHAt is with all the 3/4 length sleeves in the knitwear? Ruined some really lovely jumpers imo Hmm

That said have brought myself to order the skinny urben trousers (thanks Dexter) and the Isabel jumper in mustard Grin

Curse you all!

hattymattie · 05/06/2013 18:55

There are no cord bootlegs - what am I going to wear all winter?

JazzDalek · 05/06/2013 19:02

There will probably be more items once the range launches hattymattie , so you never know.

hattymattie · 05/06/2013 19:07

I've asked (very sad person I am). They said none in the offing.

Mendi · 05/06/2013 22:03

When I click on the link in the OP it doesn't say anything about 20% off - do you need a code?

rootypig · 05/06/2013 22:14

yup code is upthread, think it's er, PRQ2?

rootypig · 05/06/2013 22:14

yes, that's right

EliotNess · 05/06/2013 22:19

Lady. Bin the bootlegs

Mendi · 05/06/2013 22:23

Oh thank you. After a long time 'off' Boden, I am liking a few things again now.

MrsMcGregor · 05/06/2013 22:35

Is there an expiry date for the code? Have a few things in my basket but it doesn't seem right to buy winter clothes when the sun is shining!

bella65 · 05/06/2013 22:49

A word on their cashmere- I used to 'collect' Boden cashmere- had 2 cropped cardis and 2 jumpers, all bought 3-4 seasons back. They are thick, soft and have been washed to death on a really gentle hand wash cycle.

A few weeks back I ordered a cashmere jumper in the sale and was very disappointed- the cashmere bore no resemblance to the old stuff- it was thinner and felt like lambswool.

I'd rate J Lewis, M&S and Uniqlo as better quality.

Dancergirl · 12/06/2013 11:22

I've ordered a t-shirt for me and short-sleeved jersey dress in navy for dd. Most of it's disappointing though.

Anyone like the bow front blouse? www.bodenpreview.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Tops-T-shirts/3_4-Sleeved-Tops/WA444/Womens-Bow-Front-Blouse.html

polyhymnia · 12/06/2013 12:13

Yes, as I said upthread, am really disappointed not to see fabulous knitted cable dress in new colours for autumn.

I had the Peter Pan collar dress last season - wore it as a tunic. Was really please with it and thinking of getting another, in a different colour, this time.

Dancergirl · 12/06/2013 12:17

Maybe they'll do one for the winter season poly...?

Dancergirl · 12/06/2013 12:19

Quite like the Peter Pan collared Breton though.
