I like that lace top MrsCB and it's called Alice, same as one of my dd's! Also like the Chic Boots

CruCru · 01/06/2013 15:14

I have ordered some stuff. Why do you think they are doing this? Do you think they need some upfront cash flow? I heard that quite a lot of retailers are suffering from the long winter.

dexter73 · 01/06/2013 15:18

They always seem to do their previews early. Also they don't take the money until they despatch the clothes which looks to be end of July.

lottieandmia · 01/06/2013 15:46

I don't buy any of the adult stuff but I buy a lot of the children's clothes - pyjamas, coats and boots especially. I find that with the 15% discount the clothes aren't any more expensive than Next or M&S anyway and they wash better.

I'm glad to see they are doing kids dressing gowns again this year - they are brilliant value for money.

Boden seem to sell out very quickly so I've started buying stuff at the preview stage.

HappyAsEyeAm · 01/06/2013 17:02

The wool skater dress, poly. I have ordered it in the red. I have the wool cable dress from last year in navy, and its been fab.

KikeriFreedomCastle · 01/06/2013 17:07

I think they do take a 'ghost' payment of the amount of the order, to authorise the card, but it does go back in. They seem to have done recently with my preview orders anyway.

I ordered the wool skater dress in blue, but am thinking of buying the red also.

JazzDalek · 01/06/2013 17:18

Well, I love a bit of Boden and there are quite a few things I'd like. Can't generally afford to buy without a hefty discount or sale, though.

That said, I'll be ordering a Skye jumper in green. They don't look like much, but they are lovely to wear and I care way more about comfort than fashion . I managed to get three last year, one in the sale and two on Ebay and lived in them through the end of winter. Still wear one most evenings with my PJs.

polyhymnia · 01/06/2013 17:54

Hi Happy - yes, I have the navy cable dress from last year too and have been delighted with it - always gets compliments.

The skater dress is lovely but looks to me as though the shape is similar to the cable dress, but the material's different - ie, not knitted but a conventional woven wool fabric. Think that makes it just as nice, but perhaps a bit more work-y and, for my particular needs, less versatile.

The only knitted dress I've managed to find is the Hannah, which I think they also did last year. I love the berry in this, but am a bit worried it'll be too short for me, as I'm tall.

SoftSheen · 01/06/2013 17:56

Some nice girls' stuff in Mini.

hattymattie · 01/06/2013 18:33

jazz I'm going for a green skye jumper as well. I lived in the purple one through the winter - so comfortable although I accept not the height of fashion. I have to say, the colours seem exactly the same as last year with new names added.

happyreindeer · 01/06/2013 19:00

I am ordering the candy apple red mini boden chelsea boots for me.

AmberNectarine · 01/06/2013 19:30

I'm getting the bright pink desert boots. I will be mocked and I DON'T EVEN CARE!

polyhymnia · 01/06/2013 19:41

They are cool - good for you!

suebfg · 01/06/2013 20:11

Which is the nicest colourway in the Rainy Day mac do we think?

HappyAsEyeAm · 01/06/2013 20:13

Poly, Yes, I agree. Its much less versatile. I have ordered the Hannah too, in tan. I don't know whether the colour will suit me, but I intend to wear it as I wore the navy knitted cable one, which s with chocolate brown knee high boots and a chocolate brown wide leather belt. I have also ordered the Amelie dress in black and tan.

I have the opposite problem to you. I am short and a size 10 with hips and thighs. I buy a fair bit every year in boden petite. I havalso ordered the Hayley skirt. Need to stop buying now.

foxysocks · 01/06/2013 20:14

Oh now I want loads. Pointy leopard pumps! Need!

Nehru · 01/06/2013 21:19

mac - aways get plain imo
whats the code please?

dexter73 · 01/06/2013 21:20

PRQ2

Nehru · 01/06/2013 21:26

ta

did you see the primark shoes thread in the end?

polyhymnia · 01/06/2013 21:44

Happy I wore my navy cable dress with chocolate knee high boots too! Just shows how it suits a range of different heights/ sizes.

stickygingerbread · 02/06/2013 09:19

You are making me sorry to have passed by the navy cable dress last fall.

That is the tippi sweater, but fair game as j.crew has been doing a lot of familiar polka dots and patterns the past couple of years. since both are my favourite labels, I am all for stimulating competition leading to brilliance. boden cuts their clothing better for me, though.

I think I will be needing the brompton jacket, and the cashmere green/navy/ivory jumper. it is too bad because normally I choose some lower priced items and stalk the higher priced ones, but I don't want to wait. I have been waiting a long time for something like the brompton to come along so hoping it works.

I am finding a lot for me. it will be difficult to narrow down. Last fall certain items stood out easily but this fall has many items that could slide slot right in to the closet.

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/06/2013 09:33

Sticky - I keep looking at the cashmere stripey jumper but in the pink. Can imagine it would get loads of wear but still rather £££

stickygingerbread · 02/06/2013 09:45

MrsCampbell, when I was perusing the photos from the press day, I saw that on the rack of womens clothing and wanted to see more. they are really good. we may have to bite the bullet.

stickygingerbread · 02/06/2013 09:49

tell me about the rainy day mac, please? Can I wait to order? would I do any better than 20% off? generally it seems to get great reviews. Liking the navy/bronze and the navy spot colourways.

foxysocks · 02/06/2013 10:21

I like the navy cashmere too. But uniqlo always good bet for cashmere and less ££. Hmm.
