Envy at that dress Amber

Lovely clutch McNally!

DD is normally a good sleeper but last night she was really unsettled, maybe she's teething again.

DS is the early riser in this household and nothing we've tried changes that.

AmberNectarine · 29/05/2013 10:11

DD will be two in just over a month. She has NEVER slept through the night. She wakes, on average, 3 times every night.

MarshaBrady · 29/05/2013 10:21

Ds2 is a hopeless sleeper and always has been.

Although he slept from 8pm to 8am at his gps the other night. What the?!

MarshaBrady · 29/05/2013 10:22

Lovely scarf and AH wallet McNally.

shopafrolic · 29/05/2013 10:34

I love that scarf McNally

MarshaBrady · 29/05/2013 10:39

Although 4am is particularly painful Sad Linus I really feel for you. I'd probably take umpteen night wakings over having to be energetic at 4 blinking o'clock!

We do very early wakings (3am, 4 to 5) after trips to Aus and it is so dull.

Shop how are you feeling this morning about the J Brand conundrum?

LinusDKD · 29/05/2013 11:01

Amber 3 times a night!? How do you survive?

Am waiting for DD to have her afternoon nap so I can have a nap too.

Can't really complain though because this morning was an exception for DD. And we do go to bed at 10 pm to deal with DS waking early. I just wish he woke up after 6 am, anything before that is just too early.

Drywhiteplease · 29/05/2013 11:32

Rory Shop aren't there any larger sizes? There are loads of colour ways

Drywhiteplease · 29/05/2013 11:32

Meant "sorry"

santamarianovella · 29/05/2013 11:37

linus i feel your pain, you must be shattered, maybe try shortening his naps,or make him go to bed a bit late,dd always sleeps better when she has short naps.

love the wallet McNally

libertychick · 29/05/2013 11:56

Amber I have the Lena jacket and very happy with it - got it in the pale grey. I have had to wash it a few times (one especially unpleasant incident involving being poo'ed on by a very large pigeon) and it washes brilliantly. I have tried the navy on a few times but the shade wasn't quite right for me. Sizing a little generous but depending on how much you wear under it - I am 10/12 on top and 10 in it works well over a dress or fine knit. The Issa dress is fab and really suits you!

Dry agree you are very polished looking! I am Envy of your all round organised and pulled together skills and really want to see a pic of your beneton style wardrobes! Love, love the hair QueenC.

MrsR another vote here for the Elemis papaya mask - amazing stuff. I do a home facial once a week with body shop vit E scrub, followed by Liz Earle C&P, then hot facecloth followed by icy cold one, the Elemis mask, wash off with hot facecloth, then another cold one (sometimes some Liz Earle toner) then moisturize - using Clinque turnaround cream ATM.

Novice hope the work for your big event is going well.

Sympathy to all of you with night wakings and early risers...sleep deprivation is the worst.

AmberNectarine · 29/05/2013 12:24

Big fat no choice Linus! I have to cope! They outdid themselves by getting up for the day at half 3 on bank holiday Monday after a shocking night.

I would genuinely pay £1,000 for an 8 hour stretch. Can't even remember what that was like!

Lucky I'm one of those Thatcher types who manages ok on 4 hours.

libertychick · 29/05/2013 12:51

Up for the day at 3.30am - dear God!!

Amber you can pay that kind of money for people to come in and deal with them for you!! Look here I found her book useful but the service she offers (or similiar) might be of interest.

LinusDKD · 29/05/2013 13:48

Sleep deprivation is a b*$!#!

Thank god the night feeds are over because I don't do well on broken nights. It's probably the main reason why it is unlikely we will have a third child (well that and my age)

santa we have tried putting him to bed later, it just doesn't work. He does have an afternoon nap still but maybe I can cut it back a bit. But he is a complete grump when he wakes up from is nap just like DH

Back to fashion, do you think this will ever be on sale?

throw

I love it but it is a bit too expensive full price.

shopafrolic · 29/05/2013 14:31

Only kidding Dry I would love some more Gigis but have to remind myself that you can only wear one pair at a time!
Still thinking about the J Brands Marsha no idea what to do. I've never bought from Shopbop before and the return costs do out me off. Also the customer review says to go down a size. Well I already wear a size down in J Brands so I don't know if I need to size down again. I think I'll give it a few more days. The itch may no longer need scratching by then. The thing is I am genuinely having problems with my knees if I wear skinnies too many days in a row so they are v appealing as a looser alternative. You've met me....., do you think I could carry them off?

MarshaBrady · 29/05/2013 14:46

Shop yep definitely, they'd look great on you. I know what you mean re costs, I can't believe I paid £25 to just try on some Kors heels once, as I didn't keep them.

Does J Brand have a UK contact number on their site? wonder if they know their stock and what's with shopbop etc. Any stores close by to try them on? agree on ordering the right size.

libertychick · 29/05/2013 14:49

Dry I was briefly all excited about the gigi link but it's £24.10 delivery to UK!!!

shopafrolic · 29/05/2013 14:58

Good idea Marsha I've emailed J Brand and Matches, will await replies. I really do think I'd get good use from them.
Liberty your tale of pigeon poo reminded me of when I was 13 years old on a 'date' at a park. I was sat on a bank talking to the boy of my dreams when a dog cocked its leg behind me and wee'd up my back! Needless to say he didn't see me again. Grin

MarshaBrady · 29/05/2013 14:59

Linus is it SS? Says it is for spring summer so I guess so. Should be in the sales, not completely sure. Looks very cosy.

santamarianovella · 29/05/2013 15:10

i agree with marsha try them on first, they are available at donna ida too,
i always go to selfridges or harvey and try on loads of styles ,and order them from the U.S,it saves me a fortune.

libertychick · 29/05/2013 15:11

Pigeon poo was a bad, bad day! I had just worn a short sleeved black dress to work with the jacket and was asked to stay late to present to some local politicians and on my way into the town hall the pigeon struck - there was a lot of it all over the jacket. Took the jacket off for the meeting and when I came out the weather had changed and it was raining and cold - a kind colleague rescued me and drove me home - I hate pigeons!!

Sorry about your dog pee incident Shop but it does comfort me to know I am not the only one this stuff happens to Smile

MarshaBrady · 29/05/2013 15:33

Thank goodness for back up Liberty

I'm trying to think of wardrobe malfunctions. I think possibly when I had to do a talk in front of many guests at an opening type thing and a blinking rose thorn went in my eye the day before and I had to do it in sunglasses, hastily bought from a store in Germany. It was that or an eye patch, pirate-style. I don't think so!

libertychick · 29/05/2013 17:19

Tester post as this thread seems to have mysteriously vanished from S&B....

foxysocks · 29/05/2013 17:35

Anni yes I had a faulty pair of ash high tops from Anna. The zip wasn't sewn in correctly and came right out of the shoe on the first wear. Replacing took two months and then that pair was shoddy too - leather worn away and much lighter on one shoe, obviously a shop pair i think - so eventually I got a full refund.

foxysocks · 29/05/2013 17:41

Have been hideously hungover today. Had two glasses of champagne, one glass of wine and a pudding wine. Waaaah. Afternoon nap helped a bit.

LOVED my outfit though - wang grey skirt over black opaques with a really fine knit charcoal/metallic thread jumper from all saints that was a Christmas present from DH. Almost wore black leather biker boots due to the ark -building weather but it improved momentarily so risked jalouse and glad I did, they get much less use than my bikers and feel more dressy.
