Zatchels flash sale

Zatchels are having a 24 hour 50% off sale tomorrow. It's advertised on their Facebook page. I'm tempted but don't know whether to go for a classic colour (probably the navy) or one of the metallics. Has anyone ordered from them and could you recommend a colour? Thanks!

I hope they hired more staff to make all the bags!

I must be reading something else as the statement notification I got from zatchels is that they were honouring all sales up to 5. Unfortunately if there is a mad rush at the end then some people may experience difficulties at check out.

When H&M had the Marni limited editions I went on their site at the start and was logged in all ruddy day and still couldn't get to checkout because every woman and her sister was going crazy trying to buy!

I did read on their facebook that it can depend on your Internet browser as well, so that is why some people could order easily and others not.

If you have tried to order over the weekend but it hasn't gone through then please email [email protected]. We log all failed transactions so we can make sure that everyone who has been trying to order gets the bags that they wanted.

Please be patient with our customer service team, they are answering emails as fast as they can but we have thousands of people to respond to and it may take several days to get back to everybody.

I think that is fantastic customer service!

Honey - I've just seen their new post. They changed it, before they had said that they would not... Well, I had emailed them anyway (with screenshots etc), so I shall wait to see what they reply with!
Oddly, I am not that confident that they will honour the transaction.

They say they will honour any failed transactions made before 5.00pm. You have screenshots and they say they have a log of failed attempts so I think they will honour it as they won't want bad publicity.

I shall report back and let you know!

There were so many upset customers, it would have been terrible for their reputation if they had carried on with their original stance! We'll see anyway, I have emailed them.

I think there will be more happy customers than disgruntled ones. I read some of the comments on the facebook page 'I'm taking my custom to the Cambridge Satchel Company'..........yes, for twice the cost!

True, but I do think the mark of a decent company is how they deal with stuff when it goes wrong, rather than goes right, IYSWIM. And apparently someone with a bad experience is likely to tell an average of 10 people about it - that's a lot of negative publicity!

Yeah you are right, and it will be great if they decide to honour all orders attempted pre 5pm. I get the feeling they underestimated the demand, they've probably received 6 months worth of orders in the last 24 hours.

They responded to my email really quickly and cancelled my navy saddlebag order, so I shall now happily await my red leather satchel.

The guy that has been replying to my emails is called James. He is an absolute star! He has replied either straight away or no longer than an hour. All of my three orders have been combined and I am refunded via paypal for two postal charges.

So not only have I bought five bags for half price but I'm also paying £5.99 postage for all of them!

Fantastic, so looking forward to receiving them, it doesn't matter if it takes a month as the bags for my daughter and I are for the summer, the gothic one is more for autum winter and the one I bought for my sons girlfriend, her birthday isn't until September!

They've now posted again on fb asking those who have had trouble to email them. Their order system can see if you ordered before 5pm and they are going to 'do their best to accommodate' orders.

Good on them for trying to sort it. Hope all works out with my order and I reckon their third birthday might see a rather more low key 'celebration'!

James replied to my email about combining orders within a couple of hours but then the site went down so I didn't get to place my second order. I'm not overly bothered , I'm very happy with the bag I ordered the day before. I'm just hoping that we get them before summer :)

Waiting for my confirmation - I had the paypal debit but no receipt issue - wondering who will be the first Mumsnetter to declare delivery?!

Order now confirmed - they managed to race it and I just had to confirm it was mine :)

My Cambridge satchel took nearly three months to arrive I just hope it doesn't arrive while I'm on holiday.

Apparently Cambridge Satchels sued Zatchels for copying their designs. Even though the satchel design pre dates the Cambridge Satchel company by decades upon decades. As they even mention in their tv ad for God's sake.

Puts me right off Cambridge Satchels.

Still not heard anything from zatchels. I have a PayPal receipt from 15:42 yesterday and nothing else. Have emailed twice and cannot get through on the phone. Is it just me. Feeling nervy about it now.
