Very posh wedding coming up in 2 months. I'm 5'2, size 20-22, huge bosoms and footballers' legs. I also have upper arms like a side of pork.

So, it can't be sleeveless and it can't be shorter than ankle length. Oh, and I'm poor :o

ive known this mate 11 years, saw her in a dress once

she always looks fab

bunnymother · 13/04/2013 20:46

I know this isn't helpful, as I don't have links.., but how about a different top? A plain silk top, w great costume jewellery, and the black trousers and bright shoes and bag? That Evans tunic is polyester and looks like it might cling?

starfishmummy · 13/04/2013 20:49

I sound a similar shape and recently did a hepburn dress from Lady V of London with a fine knit shrug for a wedding

LadyMountbatten · 13/04/2013 20:49

silk can cling too

LadyMountbatten · 13/04/2013 20:51

the hepburn will make her tits look HUGE

like a shelf

Snazzynewyear · 13/04/2013 20:54

I love the look of those Hepburn dresses but alas as a top heavy and curvy small person they would not work on me. Such a shame.

Snazzynewyear · 13/04/2013 20:55

Not that it's all about me, just looking out for good suggestions. Not that I have any weddings to go to. Possibly a christening in a few months.

roundtower · 13/04/2013 20:55

I think the tunic/wide trousers outfit is good in theory but at 5'2 it might swamp you.

I am same height and 18/20. I've tried that look and never been able to pull it off.

I'm wearing this to a wedding soon www.kiyonna.com/plus-size-clothing/Lace_Dresses/12120901 .

It's very comfortable and flattering.

LadyMountbatten · 13/04/2013 20:56

thats a point

cool website

kneedeepindaisies · 13/04/2013 21:00

Roundtower That dress is gorgeous!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 13/04/2013 21:10

That's a gorgeous dress but I seriously cannot do knee length.

Too dark/dull? really selling it here

LadyMountbatten · 13/04/2013 21:31

It's rather maternity

codswallopandchips · 13/04/2013 21:40

Jacques Vert stuff is nicely cut and horrifically expensive new but usually found on ebay - something like this: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JACQUES-VERT-PURPLE-FORMAL-SHORT-SLEEVED-DRESS-SIZE-22-/161005626745?pt=UK_Mother_of_Bride_Fashion&hash=item257caee579
Maybe with a shawl or shrug to cover arms until you've had a glass or two of cava and don't care?

iheartdusty · 13/04/2013 21:50

this is nice from that Lady V site

tethersend · 13/04/2013 21:50

Would you do black?

LOVE the asos bell sleeve maxi that LM linked to upthread...

GwendolineMaryLacey · 13/04/2013 21:52

I have worn something very similar to previous weddings sirtoffee. In a sprightly shade of purple. Alas, I sold the dress.

Can't work out how long that jacques vert dress is

No no no to a tunic and trousers! Will make you look loads bigger!. You need a fitted dress and a belt to create a waist. The lindy bop one is lovely but not sure of quality? Lady Vintage had lovely wiggle dresses-I bought 2 in the sale. Also try Collectif-they have cotton dresses with good stretch or bengaline ones. Viv of Holloway for wide belts.

Your legs cannot possibly be worse than mine-I have horrendous varicose veins and veinous exczema. I still wear dresses and skirts. In winter its 100 denier tights and in summer its nude tights or fishnets hold ups with sally Hansen for legs underneath to hide veins.

SirToffeeDoris · 13/04/2013 21:55

plum, though hopefully not (up the) duff

tethersend · 13/04/2013 21:55

Sorry to repeat any links:

red drapey

green, would look good with heels and clutch

purple

green again

SirToffeeDoris · 13/04/2013 21:58

In case black is acceptable

LadyMountbatten · 13/04/2013 22:00

Don't presume everyone has a waist. I don't. Belts look shit

LadyMountbatten · 13/04/2013 22:01

I think the long ones look too evening gown
