Ooh pretty Grumpy

I must look at Cos bags later... :o

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 12/04/2013 21:55

So pretty. But every time I go on Cos' website I'm so distracted by the awful photography I wonder how they manage to sell anything! I've loved everything I've ever had from there, but it always looks sooo much better in RL

BrandyAlexander · 12/04/2013 22:00

Hi everyone! it's been a grim old busy week at work including a European day trip. Haven't been to bed before midnight on any night. Great links. No shopping from me although i finally opened my John lewis bag delivered on Tuesday. Mostly stuff for the dcs but I slipped in this warehouse metallic cardigan which doesn't look anything special but will go well with tan chinos or jodhpurs. Also these Dune sandals which are lovely but not sure they are practical. And this sun hat.

i am picking up my Marks & Spencers order tomorrow Hmm. If they want to know why they are doing badly.... I spent about £200 in both stores online last Sunday. JL arrived first thing Tuesday morning free delivery. M&s involves going to pick it up at the store 6 days later and only after 12pm else there's a delivery charge. Really M&S? Hmm

Anyway rant over. Lovely to hear the news about one and shop's dh's.Smile

BrandyAlexander · 12/04/2013 22:01

Very nice Grumpy.

libertychick · 12/04/2013 22:18

Great bag Grumpy I can never spot the good stuff on line in Cos either - have to see it IRL.

Novice my M&S orders to collect in store are always within a day or two and have never been charged...they are doing badly because they have not properly identified their customer - just too much stuff and their better items only seem to be available at a handful of stores.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 12/04/2013 22:21

So good to see the summery purchases novice, esp skimpy sandals. I know what you mean about M&S - ordered DH some navy suede loafers last Sun and expecting them tomorrow. Great value though - I've seen them in store and they are so similar to his brown R&B suede loafers, but over £100 cheaper! I'll forgive them this time.
Despite moaning about Cos' photos I've just bought a nice indigo top in the sale section, which I would link to if their website would open to me. Maybe they've read my comments and blocked me...
After looking at the white jeans links earlier was tempted to try some Baxters, now ordered in a shorter length for an ankle-skimming thing. I love how comfy high-waisters are, but I feel wrong in them. I think it's because I'm short (and I just think of MIL, lovely though she is, with her jeans somewhere up under her ribcage). Grin

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 12/04/2013 22:24

aha!

libertychick · 12/04/2013 22:33

Oh well done Grumpy - very nice it is too!

AmberNectarine · 12/04/2013 22:49

Aw, I love belly hugging jeans.

Just back from a lovely night out at karaoke box with DH for his birthday. No voice left at all. Wore very short, tight American Apparel dress at his request with pistols, leopard ASOS cost and green Gracie.

pickled I'm going to kill you - wishlisted the Kenzo tee this morning before I went out, intending to order when I got home. You link in the meantime and it sells out in all sizes!! Grr... ;)

LeFreakCestChic · 12/04/2013 23:03

grumpy, I think you bought the cobalt Maison Scotch cords? What are you wearing with them?

Am totally pissed off with today's purchases- M&S snakeskin flats are too big ( i know, i know, some of you did say that, but shop was having to stretch hers, so...) so have to dick about with ordering the half and full size smaller online and take my proper size back to shop. Bought nails inc porter field square , 'hero' shade appaz, and had surprise hour to myself to paint my nails when DC3 went to bed early- revolting colour, total waste of money and time. Bah.

Dare I say it, but only Brianswife AIBU thread in response to yoni has cheered me up..

Belsize77 · 13/04/2013 00:30

Thanks so much everyone for your suggestions. I have posted a few times here and on W&A. Any more and it would be fatal to my bank balance - just lurking is often ruinous enough. I loved the Kenzo and neon leopard scarf but am not sure I can quite carry either off...Particularly as this will be my third child and I feel about 90 at the moment! I think I will probably go for the boring option of gold havianas and maybe the American vintage t shirt with the loose hem but you have emboldened me to look further afield at the following,
anya, helmut and sunglasses.

Anni - I love the Lena jacket too. That's actually what I was hankering for. I couldn't find a code anywhere either. My only hope was a John Lewis price match to an event somewhere else like HOF or Selfridges that might include Whistles.

The advice on Gigi pricing was spot on too, they are miles cheaper on other sites. I will save my free money and maybe buy elsewhere.

Drywhiteplease · 13/04/2013 03:45

Oh foxy I'm looking at more trainers........ Fashion not gym this time, and after recent holiday splurge ( I did eventually find my gym turquoise Nike trainers in US) ill have to wait until next month.
These are the contenders

Or

Started off looking for red, then thought blue would go well with jeans, but actually love the Gazelles and think they would go with everything.
Views anyone?

Drywhiteplease · 13/04/2013 03:46

Or any other suggestions welcome too?

Annianni · 13/04/2013 08:07

I love the grey gazelles Drywhite but i'd probably spill olive oil on them within a week, or ds2 would leave a muddy footprint on them...

I was thinking about some Ash virgo's (not linking just incase)

Might order some if those Jigsaw bags aren't nice. I'd forgotten I'd ordered a breton from AR Blush
So I might still have some money to play with this month :o

Did you have a fab holiday?
What else did you buy?

Annianni · 13/04/2013 08:13

It's glorious sunshine here (rain forecast later)
But while the sun's here, I'm going to wear crop Hudsons, ballet flats (to accommodate fat toe) and maybe just a cardigan over a tee :o

shopafrolic · 13/04/2013 08:19

Sorry LeFreak Blush

QueenCadbury · 13/04/2013 08:37

drywhite love all of the trainers especially the gazelles. I'm considering some but want to try on first. Also need to convince dh that I need to replace the gold converse but he's Hmm as I have 3 other pairs. What is it with men that they don't quite understand that you need hoes and bags in different colours.

I'm sporting the Anna wintour look today. I've had a headache/migraine for the past day and now I've got photophobia. Sitting here inside with sunnies on.

shopafrolic · 13/04/2013 08:43

Oh QueenC I suffer with that - poor you!
Drywhite I love the Pumas - great colour too......
A morning in the garden and then a friend's opening party this afternoon, more friends for dinner this evening - fun times.
DH now has two interviews next week, the sun is temporarily shining - perhaps things are looking up.

foxysocks · 13/04/2013 08:48

Love them all dry white, think the blue nikes edge it for me

Not sure what I'm going to do. I do like the vejas a lot (and I like their ethical status) but need to sleep on it a few more times. the NBs grey/yellow combo is better for fitting into my wardrobe but they now don't have them in the size I need.

Cos snood is absolutely lovely but the purse is going back. Returns city this weekend.

QueenC hope you feel better soon. X

foxysocks · 13/04/2013 08:54

That is brill shop! So pleased. X

AmberNectarine · 13/04/2013 08:58

Hope you feel better soon QueenC - I did enjoy your comment about men not understanding that we need hoes in different colours Wink

Have ordered the white boots. Well, I do work 9 to 5...

AmberNectarine · 13/04/2013 08:59

Great news about DH Shop! I will keep my fingers very firmly crossed for him.

shopafrolic · 13/04/2013 09:01

Thanks all
Amber can't wait to see them in your blog - you'll make them work - I would look like a DP tribute act (not that I have the chest or the hair - or the surgery!)

Annianni · 13/04/2013 09:52

That's fab news Shop, fingers crossed for you.

Postman's just been...

The AR saint James breton is hideous.
It's beige and navy, not white like the photos, scratchy thick fabric and enormous.

The black Jigsaw bag is all creased and bent, due to being packed in a plastic bag, instead of a box. Which is a shame as it's quite nice. But i'll just return it.

And finally...
The mushroom cross body one is lovely and definitely a keeper.
It almost looks grey in some light, and is the right length on me.
But most importantly I can fit my rather large purse in it.
I struggle to fit it in a lot of smaller bags, and I can't be bothered swapping purses over.

Annianni · 13/04/2013 09:53

Get well soon QueenC

I also loved your hoes comment :o
