Just got Acne Pistols for my birthday. They're mum boots aren't they?

I just received my belated birthday present from my sister.

They look just like Clark's finest mumboots on me:(

No she probably won't mind. She's really alright my Sis.

She just forgets that she's 5'10" and I'm 5'4"

I'm large of thigh also - I just wear with dark colours, actually find them quite flattering on my chunky thighs, more so than Ash Jalouse for example.

The high st versions are all prettybgood so you could return them and gt some cheaper ones that you won,t feel bad about wearing less! They are useful if not cutting edge but I agree they look best on slim long legs

Corygal · 31/03/2013 10:25

Everything looks better on long slim legs. Pistols are heaven, and I am not a mum. If you don't like them, swap for something from Acne - one of their jackets, say, or a useful maxidress.

I rate Dune for boots. I haven't yet worked out how the Pistols can be 'worth' £300 odd more than the £37 I spent on my last pair of Dune boots in the sale. I'm not averse to spending money on clothes if I feel that by spending more I get something a bit different to the normal high street stuff (eg my Westwood stuff) but the Pistols really do look (to me) the same as lots and lots of pairs of boots in other shops.

faustina · 31/03/2013 13:21

hmm - I'm 5'4 and they look allright on me. Which colour do you have? If it's the black ones, try them before you call your sister, like Amber suggests, with black skinnies. They should elongate your legs and the height will minimise the thighs.

What's missing from your wardrobe, shoe-wise? You could buy just about anything with £360 credit from selfridges. (except silly stuff). If you want to stick with boots and prefer knee length, how about these - they are an amazing fit and will go with anything (if you like knee boots)

applecrumbleandcream · 31/03/2013 13:27

OP you've got a very very generous sister Envy

uncongenial · 31/03/2013 13:30

I'd imagine they would suit Keira Knightly and the like (though wouldn't she look well in anything?) otherwise those ane pistols look frumpy to me, if that's what is meant by 'mum boots'.

They look like mum boots to me
I'd wear them and I am a middle aged jeans and fleece wearer [busmile]
