Just got Acne Pistols for my birthday. They're mum boots aren't they?

I just received my belated birthday present from my sister.

They look just like Clark's finest mumboots on me:(

Urgh, yuck they are really really badly of the mum-boot persuasion, I'm afraid.

Confess they don't work, get a credit note and spend it on these:

In fact, you can get two pairs for the price of the pistols - or buy about half of Spartoo...

Cybbo · 30/03/2013 13:33

Are you wearing them with the right thing? They will look vile with anything remotely flappy round the ankle, eg boot cuts of wide legged jeans

Explain yourself

Cybbo · 30/03/2013 13:34

You could swap your pistols for the top shop version which is £45 and virtually identical

QuickLookBusy · 30/03/2013 13:41

I like them. But as others have said, if they don't suit you, or more importantly, you don't like them, then take them back.

I really don't like the term "mum boot".

If you're a mum and you wear boots then surely all you're boots are " mum boots"

Cybbo · 30/03/2013 13:43

The day I wear Mum boots take me out the back and shoot me

I've got TS ones, they're not high, I wear them all day at work

moondog · 30/03/2013 13:48

Ive got the TS ones too.
Bloody love 'em.

BrunellaPommelhorse · 30/03/2013 13:48

me too two years ago when called "ambush" although wish now I had sized down.

catinboots · 30/03/2013 14:10

Cybbo

I'm wearing them with grey skinnys

OP posts:
faustina · 30/03/2013 14:11

I have the TS ones, which I love, but they aren't as nice as the pistols, which I also have. Neither of them bear any resemblance to the horror links you are comparing them with.

Why did you sister spend all that money on something you weren't specifically dying for? Can't you just call her and say they aren't you so could you have the receipt - then take them back?

noddyholder · 30/03/2013 14:13

I have the aldo ones Tbh they are a bit mumsy now as in the only people I see wearing them are mums but they are comfy and I still like with tight black skinnies

AmberNectarine · 30/03/2013 15:02

Oh this again, can no-one think of any new thread ideas?

I'll say what I always say - I am a mum, therefore aren't all boots I wear mum boots?

libertychick · 30/03/2013 15:20

Agree with faustina - ask your sister for the receipt and go get something for £360 that you really love.

catinboots · 30/03/2013 15:35

Er no Amber. Not this again for me. First pair of pistols I've had.

Didn't realise I could only start a thread on s and b if I had a new and innovative idea for a conversation

santamarianovella · 30/03/2013 16:36

dont ebay them you will lose a lot!im sure your sister would rather you get something that you like instead. i have a love/hate relationship with these boots.they look nice on off duty models and trendy french women.
wanted to buy them many times but hesitate at last minute.

BrunellaPommelhorse · 30/03/2013 16:37

lol at cat

or what would happen to all the shit blog threads?

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/03/2013 16:42

You see those hudson ones are just not me at all - they're a bit too umm all saints.

Travelin - you are so right with your TDWP analogy.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/03/2013 16:43

Brunella - have you seen any nice blogs recently? I know you're a real addict.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/03/2013 16:46

I think they ARE mum boots, though that doesn't mean they are horrible. However, there are millions of pairs on the highstreet which are just as nice for £70 or less.

BrunellaPommelhorse · 30/03/2013 16:47

i cant see any relevance of the belt scene.

Startail · 30/03/2013 17:01

Mutant those are truly hideous, possibly usable for the little people in Snow White.

I don't think the pistol boots are Mum boots, I live in mum boots and those are too high.

The only thing that is unwearibly Mumsy is this! frills, flowers, pearl buttons and a awful colour.

noddyholder · 30/03/2013 17:01

I have resurrected an old pair of light wash diesel jeans for the summer but you have to be careful how you wear them otherwise ropey def not with these boots!

Startail · 30/03/2013 17:02

Mum boots, boot cut jeans and my old warm fleece is just practical.

BrunellaPommelhorse · 30/03/2013 17:03

htose horrigan things are not so nice
