Sounds like you're not too far from my neck of the woods Shop (except currently on other Side of Atlantic). Stour head would be lovely, we really like it there too, or there's some lovely walks around Mells (we did a nursery rhyme day, where we went up Jack and Jill Hill (www.google.co.uk/search?q=kilmersdon&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari#sclient=tablet-gws&hl=en&client=safari&q=kilmersdon+jack+and+jill+hill&oq=kilmersdon+jack&gs_l=tablet-gws.1.1.0j0i22i30.10603.11613.0.12913.5.3.0.2.2.0.158.387.0j3.3.0...0.0...1c.1.8.tablet-gws.bDJxQtwecOA&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.&bvm=bv.44697112,d.eWU&fp=87a2d3213f452c0e&biw=1024&bih=672),

Then had lunch at Little Jack Horner's in Mells (well, the pub...nice pub, fit in centre of village).

Nunney Castle quite nice too.

Dragged the children to all these places, not exactly a child's dream day out, but quite interesting, and nursery rhyme themed, so kind of childlike...

carrie74 · 03/04/2013 23:20

Right, not fit.

libertychick · 03/04/2013 23:42

Amber your blog today almost gave me a heart attack - I have been 'will I, won't I' over those JV flats for ages. And now there are only 2 pairs left in my size!!! After much tearing of hair and nashing of teeth and frantic internet searching I decided instead to order these M&S ones. They are not as beautiful as the JV ones but crucially they cost £104 less so I was also able to order snakeskin belt and a boden breton and have some cash left in my account Smile.

Once again in need of a halo emoticon - have stuck to my list AND my budget!

....

libertychick · 03/04/2013 23:50

Thanks for the tip on the green belt Pickled - it's very nice! I am trying to arrange my work diary for next week so I can actually visit the store on Regent Street as I really want to have a browse and check the stuff out IRL before starting to order from them on line.

AmberNectarine · 04/04/2013 07:57

Those are really nice liberty! The lovely lady who runs JV very generously offered me a discount so I'm going to order them. Having my CPS slippers has made me realise how much I love flat shoes, esp ones I can wear to work. Today I am wearing a pair of glittery ASOS ballerinas which are bringing me a great deal of happiness!

Topazandpearl · 04/04/2013 08:35

I agree with amber, liberty, those shoes are lovely. In fact I tried them on yesterday and really wanted them but size 6 was just too big and the 51/2 felt too tight. I tried to convince myself that they would loosen with wear, but then I thought about the blisters I'd get.....
I seem to have this problem with flat shoes, unless they have an ankle strap. I can't wear ballet flats because I walk out of them. The same was happening with these shoes in size 6. Now that I think of it, I can't wear sling backs eithervas the strap doesn't stay up. Is it my feet?? Hmm
I hope they work for you liberty!

shopafrolic · 04/04/2013 08:39

Gorgeous shoes Liberty - a fabulous bargain alternative! Love them.

Love those Liberty.

I really love the Whistles snakeskin ones I have, had never really thought about that look but it's great. Feels new for SS -for me, not had that print before.

Hopefully · 04/04/2013 09:51

Shop my dad lived near bath for 20 years, so spent most weekends that way. We're in Exeter now, so actually not a million miles away.

Hopefully · 04/04/2013 09:57

Liberty those M&S shoes are fab. I need some spring shoes. Just in case spring ever actually appears.

I am feeling smug as I have lost 1.5lb in 3 days. I know full well it is water weight and not fat and I was bloated before etc etc, but it is still nice to be carrying round 1.5lbs less than I was on Monday! Has mostly been achieved thus far by forcing myself to eat 7 veg and 3 fruit a day rather than calorie counting (although am keeping an eye on calories) - am so full on fruit and veg that I can only manage little bit of sweet stuff, and very little bread/pasta type stuff.

Have had my legs waxed this morning, it is so nice not to be doing a gorilla impersonation! I'll do my own bikini line later , then I will be all ready for the 26 degree temps I'm sure will be along any day now. Any day...

libertychick · 04/04/2013 13:03

Thanks all for the lovely feedback - collecting the shoes in my local M&S on Saturday so fingers crossed they will fit ok. Amber well done on the JV discount - will be good to hear how you get on with them. Flats at work is definitely the way to go - I do a lot of walking/commuting between meetings and I am totally over constantly switching between heels and walking shoes. I reserve heels now for the days when I need the extra height - i.e. presentations and meetings with short obnoxious men!

Topaz I do wear ballet flats but prefer loafers/slipper styles as it feels more stable. I have occasionally had a ballet flat fall off while walking upstairs - not a good look, especially when the stairs concerned are actually the escalators in King's Cross station!

Well done on the weight loss Hopefully. It's good to get a positive start on these things.

Foxy hope you are having a better day today.

AmberNectarine · 04/04/2013 13:20

Yeah the losing a shoe happens to me all the time in ballerinas. So annoying, esp if you then step in a puddle!

Have ordered JV flats, and have Marant trainers arriving tomorrow. Going to have to be amazing to stay, the amount I've spent lately, plus I'm also worried I'm going off wedge trainers as they are so ubiquitous now. Hmm.

Forgot to mention I ordered the leopard ASOS coat in the 12 and it was great but too big. Luckily one 10 came back into stock do I snapped it up!

BrandyAlexander · 04/04/2013 14:15

Hi all, the bug bit me...and the entire novice householdShock am laid up in bed, though sadly can't switch off so I am doing conference calls.Hmm

My ring arrived today (it was being resized down). So I am sat in bed, wearing primark peach v neck jumper, Superdry grey and pink trackie bottoms, my new bracelet and my fab fab ring. I am clearly nuts! I am v sparkly though! Now that they have both arrived, I realise that getting £15k worth of jewellery that I hadn't seen and I assumed would look good was also slightly nutsBlush. No way I am admitting that to dh though!

I have decided that I am temporarily banned from buying accessories, except for sparkly sandals I want to take on hols. I really need some holiday clothes

foxysocks · 04/04/2013 14:16

Oh glad it's nice amber! Hope the 8 fits me ok, my neighbour took the parcel for me must go round and collect

My celine saga continues - the sorting office can't find the parcel. They are calling me later today or tomorrow. What a palaver! The skirt better be bloody perfect after all this (if I ever get my hands on it)

foxysocks · 04/04/2013 14:17

Oh poor you novice, illness sucks. Funny you are glam whilst ill though, true MNV stylie!

BrandyAlexander · 04/04/2013 14:24

Thanks foxySmile blimey that skirt is elusive isn't it??!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 04/04/2013 15:17

Hello all - missed you lovely lot while on hiatus from MNV (as enforced by lots of work to catch up on - my fault for having a 3-day weekend!)

Had a quick scan through some of the purchases and very impressed. The SS stuff is looking so tempting. From the cosy warmth of my kitchen it looks springlike outside - quickly dispelled when one ventures out though. I spent some time visiting my new foal and his momma this morning and don't think I've ever been so cold in my life. Still living in skinnies, furry boots and my J Crew cashmere cable polo neck, but was missing a good thick hat or earmuffs - the wind blew through my head for a shortcut, in one ear and out t'other.
I've bought a tidy little navy Tippi sweater from J Crew which I'm hoping arrives before I head over to Ireland on Saturday as I have at least one outfit planned around it and only hand luggage to contemplate (Budget airlines). I am refusing to wear my duvet coat over - I may be cold but I'm sick of being bundled up inside bulky coats and sweaters every sodding day. I'm going all Paris Vogue, which I'm sure will be much appreciated in the towns I'll be trudging around Wink

foxysocks · 04/04/2013 15:43

novice I am sooooooooo over it and haven't even tried it on. not good!

marsha the outnet doesn't have any tees in the shape/style I want in my size. wish the did! will keep checking.

anni I found that splendid one, looks too short and a bit too neon for me. i like this but it's 50% plastic so not going to order www.shopbop.com/slouchy-boyfriend-tee-wilt/vp/v=1/1531059492.htm

shopafrolic · 04/04/2013 17:05

It's bloody snowing again!! Heated flooring and wood burner on for our last day here. Gutted to be heading home so soon but on a positive note, DH has had lots of initial calls with recruiters about job opportunities.
I went to the Mulberry outlet today and they had my printed Oak Bayswater in stock. I used to have one that was stolen and I've been wanting to replace it ever since as I loved that bag and my plain Oak one is nowhere near as nice. 20% off!!! And I couldn't get it. Gutted. One day it'll be mine again...
They also had a most beautiful silk pleated feather print blouse in pure silk. £550 down to £100. Stunning.
Amber lots of wedge trainers being worn in Bath - more than Hertfordshire!! Definitely more commonplace now - you were very ahead of that trend. I reckon SS will be the end of it.....
Hopefully it's a beautiful part of the world to have grown up in. Well done on the weight loss. DH has lost a stone and I've lost 6lbs. Stress, and we stopped drinking for a while. I don't recommend either :)
Novice get well soon, these bugs are never ending! And well done on the most stylish bed rest ever!
Foxy fingers crossed for the coat and the skirt
I pinned two great leopard looks
here

Ha Grumpy love the Paris Vogue vibe.

Shop love the leopard + black skinny and heel look. And the other lighter blue one.

Foxy that skirt! Hope it turns up soon!

Novice you are even ill in style.

I lost a ballet flat (VW plastic) in the sea at Whistable once, I was 4 months pg so didn't think it was worth the rescue mission. Luckily I drove so could get home without buying a shoe.

BrandyAlexander · 04/04/2013 18:26

I don't feel v stylish! I have coughed away on all my calls. I sound like fag ash lil! Grin I do love the ring though. I keep looking at it and smiling.

In other news, before I hopped into bed I finally chose which RB shoe I am keeping. It's the suede one. I just couldn't get the cobalt blue to work.

foxysocks · 04/04/2013 18:44

niiiiiiice novice! i saw a cobalt blue pair of heels in matches yday, lovely but i just can't do heels anymore

leopard coat is a KEEPER. everyone loves it! I wasn't sure at first but having worn it round the house for an hour i felt much more comfortable. it's just a touch outside my comfort zone which can only be a good thing Smile. can't wait to see how you style it amber

i know marsha, fucking skirt! fed up, what a drama llama

shop I have never found anything at shepton, you are making me want to drag the family down there tomorrow! sorry you are still on a ban but it sounds like good things could be right around the corner xx

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 04/04/2013 19:08

novice I'm imagining a louche, jewel-encrusted Bette Davis reclining against silk pillows barking into the telephone (not quite fag ash Lil).
One request though - please stop linking to beautiful shoes! I never considered myself a 'shoe-person' but when I secreted put my new Gigis away in the wardrobe today I was a bit Shock at how many pairs of shoes/boots I seem to have acquired since joining you voguettes. It's all your faults. I am weak.
