I am concerned that considering I wanted a daytime, cosy perfume I have n't exactly branched out!

Fuzzybirds · 22/05/2013 12:07

Thanks Toys!

My L'AP discovery set arrived today, it was a bit of a surprise as to what was in there as the ebay listing was rather vague. I'm very pleased as they are the little spray rather than dabber bottles and there is Timbuktu, Premier Figuier, La Chasse aux Papillons, Mon Número 7 and Mure et Musc. I have no self control and have tried a bit of them all Blush

I totally love Timbktu and PF, others are lovely too. Even Mure et Musc, which I tried before but smells much nicer this time (does spraying make a difference? Can't see any other reason it would smell different)

CointreauVersial · 22/05/2013 13:09

Toys - have PM'd you.

OneLittleLady · 22/05/2013 16:37

pocket I managed to get out to the post office today so your package is on the way Smile

FrugalFashionista · 22/05/2013 17:38

Perfume free today Shock
I'm happy that the violets are out and about and loving your swaps.

Shoe my sympathies - I retuned to work p/t when DD2 was 8mo and was so exhausted in the evenings (barely found the energy to fix something for kids) - I spent the nights in semi-coma watching American Idol Grin

pocketandsweet · 23/05/2013 12:18

Enjoying my violets but waaaaah so far none of them seem to last on me at all. Is it me? Today I'm wearing Laura Mercier Violette which is very fruity ( so probably my least favourite s far). I really liked Quelques Fleurs which was yesterday's scent. Best of all (to me) is Après l'Ondee. It's glorious. To me it is just so lovely and wistful. It is what I imagine opening a beautiful old wardrobe containing a gorgeous silk pleated Fortuny dress would smell like. Heaven. It sadly doesn't seem to last and even more sadly is expensive. I will have to obtain a quantity of this one though because it is just so lovely.

onelittlelady a package is on its way to you (finally)

FrugalFashionista · 23/05/2013 12:35

Pocket try applying Apres l'ondee on fabric (your lapel or sleeve for example - check first that it doesn't stain). That way my favorite iris, 28 La Pausa by Chanel that usually stays on my skin for just an hour, lingers on much longer.

The other trick is to apply unscented moisturizer (like jojoba oil) first on your wrist and then adding perfume.

Wearing Antaeus today, too masculine for today's mood and outfit somehow.

pocketandsweet · 23/05/2013 12:51

Of course frugal. I'm supposed to be working but sneakily looking on eBay for Après L'Ondee ( and Quelque Fleurs)... Why don't I ever fall for inexpensive perfume?

OneLittleLady · 24/05/2013 12:20

My package arrived pocket thank you so much Thanks

Haberdashery · 24/05/2013 14:13

SOTD - Incense Extreme. Lovely for a cold day, although the dampness and darkness combined with the incense is maybe a bit too ecclesiastical.

Those who have tried Chergui, is it sweet? And if so, what kind of sweetness? I'm pondering a sample but not sure if I am mad for considering it.

Ladame · 24/05/2013 15:35

I love Chergui. Not too sweet, very sophisticated and enveloping, I am going to get a FB when I can.

shoeprincess2 · 24/05/2013 15:43

Hi ladies! I have had to take a day off today- both boys ill and eldest had been running a shockingly high temperature, which the GP just said to managed with calpol and nurofen. DP is stuck in Philadelphia, awaiting a flight back home and I have just had the news on, so feeling a bit panicked by everything Shock. SOTD- Baiser Vole (Cartier), though not really in the mood to appreciate any scent today.

Haberdashery · 24/05/2013 15:52

Oh good, thanks Ladame. I know you like lots of the same things as me so that is encouraging.

Poor shoe, sorry you feel down. Hope your DP is home very soon.

pocketandsweet · 24/05/2013 16:11

I hope your husband gets home soonshoeprincess and your boys get better soon ( why do these things always happen when alone ).

My day started with Violets.... Violette Blanc and that had just worn off when the postman arrived with parcels from talisin and onelittlelady
How lucky am I.... I love them both. talisin we must be evil twins I love Cabotine. I can understand though how it would be a love/hate thing ( and I bet DH will hate it. :). Luca Turin hates it too so you have company. I like it after that first strong blast there is a nice bit of musty old research library in there that I appreciate. And onelittlelady I adore Signoricci. It's just fabulous and it does remind me of Eau Savage. I could seriously wear it everyday it so lovely. Citrus and Fresh but it lasts....I can't believe what an amazing deal you got. Thanks so much.Thanks. Thanks

OneLittleLady · 24/05/2013 16:14

Glad you like it Smile does it strike you as being unisex too? I can't understand why it was specifically aimed at men myself

ToysRLuv · 24/05/2013 16:28

Sotd: Lipstick Rose (thanks Frugal). Really really like it. Very comforting. Also intrigued by Chergui. Is it very different to TF Tobacco Vanille?

Can relate with shoe - not had the greatest last couple of days, but the show must go on! My sympathies!

Will post samples to people tomorrow.

pocketandsweet · 24/05/2013 16:28

Completely unisex I would say other than I suppose most fragrances marketed to women currently tend to be fruity-florals. I think it is seriously gorgeous.

shoeprincess2 · 24/05/2013 16:38

Toys- hope you are ok. Yes, bit of a rubbish week if I'm honest.
I actually think Chergui is very similar to TV, but I don't have a particularly refined nose. But, after a 1ml sample, I went on to buy a 5 ml decant and if i still like it after that, it will be a FB!

ToysRLuv · 24/05/2013 17:40

Yeah, shoe, I'm ok, just the normal existential angst-domestic issues combo coupled with ds being a 3 and a half year old. Confused Smile

Haberdashery · 24/05/2013 17:54

I'm another who hasn't enjoyed the last few days very much (apart from Toys' incredibly kind tar sweetie gift) but I have high hopes for next week. Apparently we are getting actual SUN on Monday.

coffeeinbed · 24/05/2013 21:33

I had a rubbish day, and Tuesday is shaping up even rubbish-er.
Won't even think about it over the weekend.

Went to the Body Shop yesterday- haven't been there for years, ever since I bough three boxes of Spicy Vanilla body butter because it was a fiver in the sale and because I thought I will use it. Ha! They are still unopened in the bathroom cupboard! They have a lovely lemony body oil. very summery.

Someone stop me buying three!

shoeprincess2 · 24/05/2013 21:44

Toys- I'm going through it at the moment with my eldest. 2.8 and wilful, stubborn and bloodyminded! Mind you, I was told at 4 months old that "he is a spirited child and knows his own mind!" Plus, he's super grumpy with his cold and raging temperature! On a happier note, it seems that DP, whilst stuck in Philadelphia Aiport, has purchased a large bottle of Issey Miyake L'eau d'issey absolu (the gold bottle) for me. Oh, and a white toblerone Smile

Coffee- don't think about Tuesday until you have to and yes to 3 bottles of lemon body oil!

Fuzzybirds · 24/05/2013 21:45

Sympathies to everyone having crappy days : (

Toys my eldest DS is 3.9 and is the most stubborn, strong willed person I've ever met. Youngest has just turned 2 and is a little angel in comparison!

Got my bargain bundle of vintage ebay minis today, lots of interesting ones in there. Sadly the Magie Noire had leaked and is empty, but there's plenty of others to keep me busy. Tried a wee dab of Amarige today and it nearly blew my head off! I can see why some would hate it as it's very loud. Of course I totally love it Grin

coffeeinbed · 24/05/2013 21:48

Not going near a Body Shop! until the sales

coffeeinbed · 24/05/2013 21:50

Oh Fuzzy, next to Amarige even Fracas is a kitten.
You're a brave woman.
