Bugger here

Are you mad, MI?! I hate going running (apart from interval training in the gym) - walking is the way to go! DH is running on the beach as I typeShock

Your DH sounds as dithery as mine MI - drives me to distraction with his inability to make a quick decision and invariably comes to the same conclusion that I made instantaneously. HTF does he hold down his important job????!!!

X posts BD! Great minds?!

Stropperella · 07/04/2013 11:07

Brisk walking much better for your joints, I think. Definitely works for me. I hate running, apart from the odd bit at circuits and the sprints after the bad lickle doggie.

I won't go for a brisk midmorning walk. Really I won't. I may just invest in a sports bra and give it a nine-week go.

I am going to have a bloody good party in June to which you are all invited!

bigTillyMint · 07/04/2013 11:22

Ruby, Barca is FAB - went with DH for my 40th. Loved all the Gaudi stuff. Love gaudy clothes too - especially bright 70s prints!

J think that would work - surely you could just get a standard variable mortgage till you sell current house and then fix/cap as you want? Just make sure that theres no clause saying you cant pay a huge lump sum!

IIRC my DM had a bridging loan for a few weeks many years ago - would that be another option?

Good plan rubySmile

Blackduck · 07/04/2013 12:58

Envy at no mortgage...
In your position I think it would work.... (I would not have done it when we were trying to sell - was suggested to us - because our house was a 'mare to sell due to area)

Stopanuary · 07/04/2013 13:06

Delurking once again....

Ruby, make sure you check out your plan with an accountant as there could be capital gains tax implications depending on the time scales etc.

I'm 50 in less than a month...I've banned my family from organising anything and plan to take myself off to a spa for a weekend.

Cremolafoam · 07/04/2013 13:15

Sounds good stopanuary . Happy birthdayThanks

Ruby I don't know if they still allow you to arrange a late exchange date.
The last time we moved house we were selling two houses to buy one and we arranged an exchange date of 6 months into the future to allow us some leeway. I know this only works if the chain is amenable. Gave us the time to find a house we really wanted.
