DD2's favourite hoodies were from TK Maxx. They are both by Plain Lazy (a label invented for DH) - one says "Salad Dodger" and the other says "Duvets are a girl's best friend." She also really loves her Angry Birds one from BHS.

Stropperella · 06/04/2013 21:50

Dh and I having matching slippers Blush , which we both wear to work Grin (I can hear the lurkers laughing).

MrsS, sorry you have been struck down with germs. Hope you are well-stocked with lemsip and have been having a bit of TLC from your nearest and dearest (well, it could happen). Oh - many thanks for the pointer to Nigella's luscious brownie recipe. I have used up 2 Green and Blacks Easter eggs and 6 actual eggs and everyone has brownie bloat. Grin

I have also recently purchased some loudly patterned jeans from Uniqlo in ze sale. these are they I am clearly having a back-to-the-80s loud trouser moment. They go very nicely with my slippers Grin

Today I have mainly been doing garden clearance. And considering this summer's options re: veg. And a possible partial re-modelling of a section of the garden that doesn't seem to be working too well at the moment, i.e. it is infested with pernicious weeds.

Sorry crepeys I can't comment further because of it being so obvious where when what and why. Am afeared of lurkers and professional backlash. Already have a colleague on a disciplinary for twitting something seemingly innocuous Confused

Moving on;
I have slippers from Romika that I picked up in TKMaxx. They are red felt and have outdoor soles specifically for ' going to the bins'/ log shed
Lol - really should be the USP of slippers I think.

Was engrossed there in Swedish cop drama on BBC4 which looks rather promisingSmile love a bit of Nordic Noir

Stropps I am beside myself about the state of our garden. We still are snow covered in parts. The fields around us are still unplanted so I will probably wait until I see veggies being put in by the farmers. We have lost two trees and everything looks dismal. Also in DIY news our double glazed living room window has blown and has gone cloudy which is depressing and adding to the gloom.
Hurry up proper spring!

Those are DD1's jeans, Strops. She has them in "wine" I think. Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 06/04/2013 23:04

I yearn for cosy sheepskin slippers and have asked for a pair for Christmas or Birthday for about three years now, but nada. Sad

Cremolafoam · 06/04/2013 23:21

How are you feeling mrs s?

Cremolafoam · 06/04/2013 23:26

Oh I have a plain lazy t-shirt 'my other body is a temple' :) ...
I am loving the slipper debate I have started Grin

Blackduck · 06/04/2013 23:46

Oh am I am really loving Stropps strides!!!

CointreauVersial · 07/04/2013 00:37

My slippers don't have "outdoor" soles.

That means someone else has to put the bins out. Wink

bigTillyMint · 07/04/2013 01:51

I used to wear loads of loud flowery trousers in the 80's. DD would be mortified if she could have seen me! She is not particularly label-obsessed, but DS is - hopfully the genuine fakes in Bangkok will keep him quiet for a while!

I have slipper boots and mules depending on the seasonSmile

Am impressed with all the talk of growing your own veg - as we have a miniscule London garden and I have not got green fingers, it's not an option for me!

hattymattie · 07/04/2013 09:22

Morning ladies, feeling very virtuous as crumble is in the oven:)

On the subject of slippers - we don't have any - just imitation crocs from Primark or some such place which can go inside and out with no hassle.

Had text from DD1 who was at a friend's party to sleep over last night to tell us she's not in fact there but at boyfriend's because there were dodgy goings on at the party. So am waiting while DH goes to fetch her. Meanwhile I think I'll wander into town for a Sunday Times (nasty foreign thin one without all the suppléments) as it is sunny for once.

My DD's aren't to into labels - they are the H&M Queens. I'm always getting yelled at because I will not be dragged over the threshold of the seething mass that is H&M at La Defense.

Hope you're feeling better Mrs S. Crem - desperate to hear story - you'll have to tell us when it's all resolved. By the way I'm planning on being a very difficult old lady in shops; Grin.

Blackduck · 07/04/2013 10:02

Morning all... Stripy trousers was my thing - never did the floral number.
Dp and I had a very late night reliving our yoof - he has just crawled out to the gym singing 'everybody hurts....' :)
I am in bed and might catch up with Scandi drama.

bigTillyMint · 07/04/2013 10:44

BD lots of Scandis here!

Went out to the town/market for lunch and ended up snarfing some lovely fresh street food and going for a fruit shake in a cafe on stilts on the sea - gorgeous. We are all feeling a bit depressed at the thought of the mammouth trip back to Bangkok on Tues...

Blackduck · 07/04/2013 10:50

I was thinking fondly of when dp and i went to Thailand. recall feeding a very pregnant dog in Sukhothai, and Riding on the back of a motorbike in Chaing Mai (take your life in your hands!) spent Christmas morning in Bangkok and Christmas Dinner in KL!!good times - BC....

Stropperella · 07/04/2013 10:51

Dd is v. amused that I have the same trews as a 14 year old, MrsS. She snorted: "Yeah, because you are so young and trendy." Grin

My slippers are sheepskin elf boot-type. At Christmas I wear them with red tights and green shorts. (and if you believe that you will believe anything :) )

I had a large assortment of mad clown trousers in the 1980s. Ones with paint splatters all over, very baggy. Lots of pairs of stripey ones. Gawd, there is a pair of particularly foul, super-bright stripey ones from that era in ds's dressing up box. In case he ever needs a clown costume.

motherinferior · 07/04/2013 10:51

Crepeys, he's now looking yearningly at Spain...shall I kill him now?

Stropperella · 07/04/2013 10:52

Aargh, just remembered I used to wear the foul trousers with bright red patent brogues. And enormous hair. Oh the shame.

Stropperella · 07/04/2013 10:53

MI, just lock him in a cupboard and go ahead and book the holiday.

motherinferior · 07/04/2013 10:54

Also I am thinking once again about trying running. Because (a) That Birthday looms (b) when DD2 starts walking to school I will quite feasibly never get outside at all (as I do swim but this does not expose me to outdoor light!) (c) I now have an iPhone so can download a bracing app...

Blackduck · 07/04/2013 10:59

Nooooooo not running MI! Brisk walk {http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2013/apr/05/brisk-walk-healthier-running-scientists see}

Agree with Stropps - just book something!
