BTM - your holiday sounds fabulous. Crem keep us updated on Cambridge.

With regard to gym - one gym teacher is so good looking that the school girls stop and peer through the window at him giggling. The other is just normal. There are ladies at my gym who are at least 60 and can manage the exercises better than me; Blush.

We did our Museum last week (Orsay). They had photo expo' which was positively pornographic and even DD1 thought DS's attention ought to be diverted elsewhere. Honestly - I think they should put warning signs at the entrance to the room. DS is only 10 and not used to such sights.

Cremolafoam · 04/04/2013 14:05

We are mid student led tour. Tis freezing. Dd is all lit up inside.and blethering to a politics student about North Korea. I am feeling Shock at amount of swotting still to be achieved for exams to come. Everyone is vair nice indeed.
Ruby savinos was perfect and cosy . Thanks so much for recommending it.
Could be doing with another pint of tea after all this hiking thoWink

Herbs, that museum is fab - went there with the DC once when they were little. I also loved the Geffreye for free activities and, of course, our local - the Horniman for small childrenSmile

Glad Cambridge trip is a success Cremo.

Hatty, stop making us all me soEnvy!

herbaceous · 04/04/2013 16:35

I do fancy the Horminan, but the journey would break me. I also gather it's totally heaving at the moment. Can't face the Science or NH for the same reasons. And the Museum of Childhood has been done to death.

Hendon Air Force museum is a contender - miles and miles of indoor running possibilities, plus planes.

bigTillyMint · 04/04/2013 16:38

Herbs, you must wait and do the Horniman when Im around to meet you and the little man in the cafeSmile

herbaceous · 04/04/2013 16:41

Oooh, that would be so great!

bigTillyMint · 04/04/2013 16:51

Grin I can maybe get out early on a Wed afternoon if I don't have a meeting, otherwise it's weekends!

herbaceous · 04/04/2013 16:52

Let us pray for a Wednesday afternoon, as it will be lovely and quiet!

bigTillyMint · 04/04/2013 16:55

Ok I will see what's what when I get back to work!

DH just had a text fro. a mate who said it had started to snow in HarpendenShock

herbaceous · 04/04/2013 17:00

It's been snowing here all day. Settled for a bit, too. Now I have to go and get DS from nursery. Brrr.

motherinferior · 04/04/2013 17:54

Herbs, which station are you? I reckon you could zip down to the Horniman relatively pain-free...

herbaceous · 04/04/2013 18:08

I'm walthamstow. So could change at H&I for the east London line. I'm only dissuaded by Facebook tales of it being v crowded, for such a long journey.

motherinferior · 04/04/2013 19:57

It's really not that crowded. And there is an excellent cake place nearby Grin

motherinferior · 04/04/2013 21:10

We are now in holiday cottage choice hellGrin. It is possible we've got it down to two finalists - bearing in mind we've been bitten by some really dodgy places in the past, one in particular and I really do not want to spend two weeks somewhere scummy and I've been outvoted on the idea of two weeks in different places...but do we really want to go to Normandy (lovely house) yet again? Might the weather be vile (though house is nice enough for vile weather)? Other house is further down in France, I like but longer drive and others not sure (DD2 v set on Normandy place)....

I'd always go where weather is likely to be be better - otherwise stay in UK?!

alto1 · 04/04/2013 22:42

can't keep up - have dipped in a few times but never had long enough to feel up to speed. Hope all well, herb's teeth better, MrsS got shot of AB and MI had better day at work.

I'm on singing course, rehearsing six hours a day plus home practice, in choir of 22 doing Bach & his influences. Brilliant but definitely more knackering than work which is why I'm in bed at 10.

Belated appy Easter to all Grin

alto1 · 04/04/2013 22:43

Happy Grin Grin

motherinferior · 04/04/2013 22:47

Wotcher altissimo...

We haven't actually been to Normandy for six years, DP points out

Cremolafoam · 04/04/2013 23:21

Back. Have collapsed. Dd zonked.

MI is the other place Charente Maritime or Vendee? Know both well as family house in that direction.Let me know if I can help persuade family with tempting insider wisdom Grin

bigTillyMint · 05/04/2013 00:33

Cremo we have been to Charente Maritime and Vendee a good many timesSmile MI the weather there has always been good, whereas Normandy is much like the UK. It's a long old drive down to CM though!

Having said that, Southern Brittany is my favourite part of France!

beachyhead · 05/04/2013 08:28

It's a little better if you do the Portsmouth to St Malo overnight ferry... Part of the adventure too, but does add to the cost!

Hello alto, hope you are an alto?

motherinferior · 05/04/2013 09:29

We've done Vendee (lovely), Normandy (often lovely) and Brittany (rained like nobody's business) before...the Normandy house is divine, I must say.

motherinferior · 05/04/2013 09:33

I might wibblishly email those of you whose emails I've got, as I don't want to link to them on here...

hattymattie · 05/04/2013 09:49

MI - we stayed in Brittany last year in July and it rained for a week Sad. We then went to the Aveyron and (bar one enormous storm) just what we needed. Gorgeous countryside, villa with pool and more importantly a bit of heat. I am definitely off Brittany for the time being. Normandy is just as likely to be rainy though.

Crem - tell us about Cambridge. What's DD applying for?
