Oman better than Onan? Grin

I have sent FB friend requests to those of you whose RL names I recognise and who are friends of Strops.

Blackduck · 03/04/2013 07:01

Ha ha Grin that's what you get for MNing at 2.00am!!

Have accepted MrsS.
I am about to kill dp - ds off to parents today and I need to catch train to work. Dp walks out the door and sits in the car leaving me to chivvy ds, switch off lights, collect bags etc etched - grrrrr

hattymattie · 03/04/2013 09:14

I have never looked behind my fridge Blush. It'll probably only happen when either we move house or buy a new fridge.

Plumber came and said shower problem is due to husbands dodgy tiling and will send us an estimate for repairs. Other plumber said it was due to first plumber's dodgy installation. All I want is a shower that works - other people seem to have this Angry. Either way we're going to have to fork out tons of cash.

I had to put down 1000E to reserve DS's school place and another 800E at the other school in case he failed entrance test - very expensive game this.

Hmm, Ruby (and congrats on your new Day Of No Drugs) I am about, I am quite sure, to OK a holiday we just can't afford out of sheer longing...

motherinferior · 03/04/2013 10:36

Now turned from Fanjeaux to Fouquere...

Sadly, it's bouquered [cross]

Thing is, there are quite a few nice places out there. We're usually a lot more last-minute than this!

Blackduck · 03/04/2013 11:04

Ruby - do you really want to move? Or is it displacement activity for something else?
Don't move for the sake of it, says she who bears the scars...

bigTillyMint · 03/04/2013 11:15

Am now fantasising about chocolate brownies/roulades, etc having not had any pud in a week (apart from a few melty eggs)

DD is sulking on the balcony because she now also has red shoulders to match her other red body parts and I dared to suggest that it was because she had not covered up when I advised her too.
I am a leetle red too after sitting on the bow of the longboat all the way back from the snorkelling/kayaking trip (which was fab), remembering many happy holidays in Greece in a previous lifeSmile

Am very happy to have lots of new FB friends (including you MrsS!) just a bit frustrated with the dodgy internet connection here and having to do it all on my phone.

Aww ruby! I am dreading wondering how we would cope with four adults in our London Victorian terraced house, gulp. And I'm hoping that our luffly cleaner will have done some sort of deep clean when we get back as I haven't got time for that sort of malarkey!

French cottages are looking good - have you tried the gites de France website MI?

motherinferior · 03/04/2013 11:35

I don't think I could handle any more gites! I am increasingly of the mind that as the nicer/pricier places are only available for one week we should make a virtue of necessity and go somewhere cheaper (but NOT as nasty as the Spanish cottage of some years ago, o vile it was) for the first week and then upscale for the second.

None of you buggers have friended me, eh. I shall have to plunder MrsS's contacts...

bigTillyMint · 03/04/2013 11:40

I deffo havent had a friend request from you MI - will search for you if one doesn't pop up!

DH is bemoaning the fact that I am not about to, or ever, turn into a carbon copy of the Thai woman with her European man on our trip today. She was feeding him bananas and pringles and drying his hair, etc, etc and lookin doelike at him all day FFS

Blackduck · 03/04/2013 11:59

Added you MI - orange dog with sunglasses...

I am having a slow start to the day and all this talk of hols is not helping. I do need to do something before I go away next week...

Blackduck · 03/04/2013 12:00

BTM - I feel ever so slightly sick at that image...

motherinferior · 03/04/2013 12:01

I have not done much at all this morning bar clean the kitchen (not madly deeply, ahem), make flapjack and a tomato sauce to feed visiting children (one of whom is violently nut-allergic so I live in terror of poisoning her) and make some desultory phone calls re work...

bigTillyMint · 03/04/2013 12:05

Mmmm, flapjackEnvy

I have never been friends with so many dogs. Especially ones that look like a Banana Split. La la la la la la la.....

BD packing your bag's the main jobWink

DD is now showering and moaning loudly...

motherinferior · 03/04/2013 12:12

Flapjack is one of the world's easiest things to make, and hence I make it a fair bit.

Must make lunch soon. This is one of the stressful things about school holidays. The constant feeding of the animals. We had salad and salami and cheese and stuff yesterday which was blissful, but the buggers were hungry again about an hour later. They're all enormously tall, too, at least by my standards, except for poor old DD2 who is still not quite big enough to be out of a car seat and feels this humiliation keenly Sad Grin
