I hope that someone might help with mine... how on earth does one pronounce Space NK please? I was going to ask in the shop, but the man in the blue eyeshadow is too scary Blush

Can I pleeeease just clear this up once and for all!! I did not say worrying about armpits was trivial! I just said that people should think themselves lucky if that was the worst of their S&B problems. It was supposed to be self-deprecating and jokey.

Tanyaaah · 04/02/2013 20:00

How do you pronounce "Shu Uemura"?? I wonder everytime I'm at the hairdresser.

Tanyaaah · 04/02/2013 20:02

And, what is BB cream?

OneHundredSecondsofSolitude · 04/02/2013 20:02

And miu miu or is it mui mui? Anyway, how do you say that?

OneHundredSecondsofSolitude · 04/02/2013 20:04

Thanks cutteduopear I'll try that

But what about the clammy, bald undercarriage. Surely not just me? And I thought you weren't meant to talc ladybits?

Tanyaaah · 04/02/2013 20:06

I thought it was pronounced Mew Mew OneHundredSecondsofSolitude, but no idea if that's right.

Tanyaaah · 04/02/2013 20:07

I suppose the hair protects the undercarriage from clammyness! I'll keep mine!

OneHundredSecondsofSolitude · 04/02/2013 20:08

Oh and thanks too to everyone else who suggested eyeliner solutions Blush

That'll teach me to read from the bottom up

IncognitoIsMyFavouriteWord · 04/02/2013 20:11

I'm sorry I haven't read the whole thread.

Is it possible to get opaque hold ups? I prefer opaque in the winter but prefer hold ups to tights.

Am I asking the impossible? Grin

Fishandjam · 04/02/2013 20:18

Please may I fall snivelling onto the shoulders of Quinn and Dotty - I have horrible facial skin (greasy, spotty, blotchy, lined and threadveiny) and until I get some slap on I get seriously depressed by it. Though Avon mattifying foundation works reasonably well (I also have ridiculously pale skin and finding a pale enough shade is tricky).

I also have horrible body hair but that's nothing new - pubes down to my knees and a ladygarden which is more of a thicket, yuk. Lush's Buffy scrub bar does the job on preventing ingrown hairs - that or a DIY scrub made with sugar, olive or sweet almond oil and a few drops of nice essential oil.

PopMusic · 04/02/2013 21:08

How do you use oil for cleansing/moisturising?

Jacksmania · 04/02/2013 21:23

Can I suggest laser hair removal for horrible body hair? Mucho $$$$$ (at least here, I'm in Canada) but so worth it. Best money I've ever spent on myself.

WantsToBeFree · 04/02/2013 21:39

OneHundredSecondsOfSolitude,

It's pronounced "mew, mew". Grin. Their stuff is rubbish though.

determinedma · 04/02/2013 23:00

pop musicmassage on and tissue off. Leaves skin really soft

zcos · 04/02/2013 23:15

I agree with the underarm hairy thing I had to shave them twice a day on holiday in the late morning before swimming and again before going out in the evening.

williaminajetfighter · 05/02/2013 01:40

1.laser hair removal best for permanently getting rid of hair especially on face.

  1. Liz Earle does an amazing foundation which has BB cream type finish. It is called sheer Skin Tint. Amazing
  1. Ingrown hairs can be avoided or fixed with Tend Skin. It's a great product. Secret ingredient is aspirin.
  1. Beauty therapists do judge! Once a hirsute friend went to get a bikini wax and was told by the therapist who has started the treatment 'well you're getting your money's worth today aren't you!!'
Northumberlandlass · 05/02/2013 07:51

Incognito - M&S do opaque hold ups.

IncognitoIsMyFavouriteWord · 05/02/2013 08:53

Really? I missed them.

I'll get online today.

thank you Smile

Northumberlandlass · 05/02/2013 08:56

shrimponastick · 05/02/2013 09:16

Laser/ipl hair removal is how you get the, perfect armpit look.

I had mine done, and bikini line a few years ago.. Errr I think 8 or 9 years. However it is gradually creeping back now. I use my epilator as there arent that many hairs, and just grit my teeth.

So it isn't permanent, but long term hair reduction I beleiveS the phrase my laser lady used

SusieB13 · 05/02/2013 10:38

I prefer waxing to any other form of hair removal apart from underarms.

As my leg hair is fair when waxed the regrowth comes back quite faint and over time it has become less and less. (IMO NEVER wax or shave 3 inches max above the knee)

I've had the full genital area hair removed, didn't like it astetically deff looked wrong, but again it grew back softer and certainly no prickly regrowth, however there were a couple of ingrowing hairs that had to be carefully tweasered.

I only have waxing in the bikini area because I swim and "sideburns" are really not a good look!! neither is craning my neck when in public in a swiming costume to look at my nether regions to check I'm not sporting a clothing malfunction!

Hamishbear · 05/02/2013 11:29

Why do very, very rich women suddenly become very slim? All those I know that have enormous family income get steadily slimmer so that they can fit all designer brand clothes - usually smaller sizes.

Very, very rich women are rarely over a size 12 IME. Why??????

BadMissM · 05/02/2013 11:32

marriednotdead Primer is undercoat/polyfilla you put on before foundation. Ideal if you get sweaty or have greasy skin, also evens out skin tone. Boots No 7 do a good one. About £12 but lasts ages.

Armpit hair debate...when going on hols, I shave, then Veet. Goes into roots, lasts longer. Works on legs too...

Fossil 971 Twist and roll your hair to keep it up. Use combs and booby pins to secure rolls, put an elastic scrunchie at the end, then pin that into roll....

Dotty 2 For keeping lipstick on....apply one coat. Blot with tissue. Apply another, blot with tissue, then apply final coat. If matte-ish you can also put tiny bit of face powder on to set it.

Scottishmummy Agree about 8 hr creme, ooky vaseline!

Incognitoismyfavouriteword Aldi have gorgeous opaque hold ups for about £2.50 around Valentines Day.... I stocked up last year.

Hamishbear Because they can afford to live on obscure berries and have lipo whenever they need it....

KateTheClumsyStripper · 05/02/2013 12:25

Quinn - have you been checked for Polycystic ovary syndrome PCOS?

For post shaving stubble removal i've found those sandpaper pads are wonderful. Maybe not so if you have delicate sensitive skin rather than my rhino hide thought!

My question - how do you pronounce Chignon? I'd like to ask for one for my wedding without sounding like a clueless fool! Blush

dexter73 · 05/02/2013 12:27

she-nyon for chignon!
