I hope that someone might help with mine... how on earth does one pronounce Space NK please? I was going to ask in the shop, but the man in the blue eyeshadow is too scary Blush

My actual goal in life is to be able to do proper black flicky eyeliner... Have tried so many different ones and still it eludes me, Avon gel eyeliner with the brush is the best so far but not really black enough. I basically want to look like Amy Winehouse... Any tips?

grotbagz · 04/02/2013 12:23

littlermissstan - mac fluid line in blacktrack is perfect for this and stays for ages - also the little pot lasts for so long even though it looks small, sometimes it dries out but you just put a tiny bit of water on the brush in this case and its as good as new, just use the little brush you already have!

Little embarrassed about this one but I've got 4 dc and I can't shift the orange peel skin on my belly. Youngest dc is 3 months old and the tightness is coming back (kind of) but I hate the cellulite, orange peel look that my belly has. So can anything shift it? Thank you Blush

Do people really, truly care what their armpits look like Shock if only I had such small worries

I would also like to hear, directly from a beautician, whether they do comment/judge/laugh at/are disgusted by waxing arses. And if you have an all-over waxing like that, please tell me you don't have to take your knickers off?!

dexter73 · 04/02/2013 15:27

I don't really, truly care what my armpits look like but I have the choice to keep them shaved and I prefer them that way so I do it. I have bigger worries than what my armpits look like too but I am capable of thinking about trivia and important things at the same time.

HanneHolm · 04/02/2013 15:29

THAT FECKIGN ARMPIT TIP WORKS

The shaving one

HanneHolm · 04/02/2013 15:29

bet youre interested now dex dexter ;)

Nancy66 · 04/02/2013 15:32

A dusting of powder over eyeliner is good for keeping it in place and stopping it from smudging/melting.

noddyholder · 04/02/2013 15:33

Shaving with talc instead of soap gives a really smooth close shave

dexter73 · 04/02/2013 15:35

I'm far too busy thinking of important things at the moment!

dexter73 · 04/02/2013 15:35

(watching the last episode of Borgen actually)

bialystockandbloom · 04/02/2013 16:05

Erm, no need to be so snippy and defensive dexter. I didn't mean shaving/not shaving armpits. I meant I hadn't ever known of anyone worrying about eg dark/rough/shadowy/uneven skin under their arms.

And fwiw (not sure why I'm justifying myself tbh but hey ho) I meant "wish I had such small beauty issues to worry about" like eg not being overweight, or looking permanently knackered, or having massive calves.

Many of us are also capable of having real problems and caring about our appearance too you know.

dexter73 · 04/02/2013 16:13

Arf at snippy and defensive - it was supposed to be a joke. Your post just sounded massively pompous!

cocolepew · 04/02/2013 16:21

For eyeliner use Barry M eyeshadow pencils, they are fabulous.

NickECave · 04/02/2013 16:25

I want my tired, slightly saggy, nearly 40 skin to look fresh and youthful but not at all made up. Should I be wearing:
a. primer and foundation, b. just a tinted moisturiser, c. a BB cream (whatever that is)?

NickECave - Laura Mercier Illuminating Brightener is good to wear under make up - it gives your skin a nice light and sheen.

slug · 04/02/2013 16:40

Anna, Camper do lots of flattish shoes

HanneHolm · 04/02/2013 18:03

well i am NOW an armpit obsessive - go to body pump twice a week and have to stare at them in a mirror as I hurgggggggh lift 15 kilos up and down

KristinaM · 04/02/2013 18:22

HANNE -I just wear t shirts with sleeves
You can lift heavier Ifyou are not looking at your armpits Wink

Jacksmania · 04/02/2013 18:24

How do I get rid of spots near my jawline? They're making me insane.

bialystockandbloom · 04/02/2013 19:18

I have bigger worries than what my armpits look like too but I am capable of thinking about trivia and important things at the same time.

Yep, that was side-splitting and not remotely rude.

Re-read my first post, perhaps you'll see it in the tone it was meant.

JumpingJackSprat · 04/02/2013 19:20

those who are dont have anything better to worry about than my armpits, erm yes i do but im not going to post about that on a style and beauty thread! and if your armpits looked like mine you would be looking for solutions too!! Grin
