Plumbers!

Did anyone see the plumber scene in Miranda the other week?

NoelHeadbands · 17/01/2013 12:22

And Asda

niminypiminy · 17/01/2013 12:49

But (referring to OP) not all clergy women

survivingwinter · 17/01/2013 14:42

estate agents - all the young blokes with poncey gel and big knots in the tie!

The teachers at our school are all well dressed - clearly they all have more money than me to spend on clothes!

CharltonHairstyle · 17/01/2013 15:52

Mobile phone salespeople.

Wet look gel and cheap suits...and that's just the women ;-)

AmericasTorturedBrow · 17/01/2013 16:08

Strippers, porn stars, pole dancers, glamour models

I work in the arts and its a fine line between looking cool enough and being comfortable for rehearsals, everyone carries around at least one change of clothes with them!

DH works for a games company, they ALL wear jeans and tshirts, and the company regularly gives them t shirts and hoodies with the company logo on....it's practically a uniform

QueefLatina · 17/01/2013 18:16

I work in a library and it is a style desert, head to toe Fatface, White Stuff and Per Una.

However, the most glamorous person I know is an art teacher

Sunnywithshowers · 17/01/2013 18:25

Charity fundraisers

I worked in fundraising for years and got progressively scruffier and scruffier, with the odd day where I'd scrub up for interviews / important meetings.

bootsycollins · 17/01/2013 18:27

bigTillyMint you've hit the nail on the head with librarians! At my local library there are 2 main offenders one male one female who dress in full on polyester vintage (genuine vintage as in purchased by themselves in 1970). I call their look Open University circa 1976, seriously they could exhibit their wardrobes in a museum. Crazy hair, socks and sandals genuine article geeks none of this quirky geek revival for them they are the genuine article, I'd love to know what they do when their not working at the library........

Jins · 17/01/2013 18:32

Gutted. I've been mentioned. Sad

There's still nothing on this earth that would get me wearing Boden or M&S. I won't even set foot in Next. There's clearly no hope for me

Jins · 17/01/2013 18:34

Oh and you've got DH as well.

It's a good job DS knows his way round a shopping centre or we'd be a houseful of laughing stocks

bigTillyMint · 17/01/2013 18:49

Bootsy, are you sure they're not going for the full-on retro look?Grin Sound way more exciting than our local librarians!

PoshPaula · 17/01/2013 18:53

On the contrary, Montage. A lot of clowns are very snappy dressers.

montage · 17/01/2013 18:58

Snappier than Social Workers certainly Paula, I'll grant you that.

PoshPaula · 17/01/2013 19:03

And clown shoes must be purchased from specialist shops or on-line. (I'm not a clown. I once went to a Clown's Convention, by accident).

Often, people that wear uniforms dress badly in 'civvies'. I say people, I mean men, really.

MrsRebeccaDanvers · 17/01/2013 19:35

fast food employees- polyester clothes that are too baggy and trousers that flap around their ankles.

thixotropic · 17/01/2013 19:38

Deffo engineer types. I dress like a sack of shite

Arisbottle · 17/01/2013 19:43

As a teacher I am bloody more stylish than a weather girl.

I suspect pay has a lot to do with this.

montage · 17/01/2013 19:49

"I'm not a clown. I once went to a Clown's Convention, by accident."

Do tell!

I'm picturing a scenario like Cam in Modern Family who accidentally dresses up as a clown when he's stressed (he sleep-clowns)

wewereherefirst · 17/01/2013 19:58

Emergency services. All of them!
