I found my MIH Paris on the generous side Shop so you might be fine. Depends if fabric etc makes a big difference. I have red, navy and white Blush from last year all in my normal size and have found they give quite a bit with wear.

shopafrolic · 22/01/2013 22:44

Thanks Blondassassin perhaps I'll be ok after all then. Will let you all know when they arrive.

I tried the denimy denim ones if that makes sense. Maybe I was just fat at the time - perfectly possible.

Eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Paige boyfriends and Goldsign leggings, both eBay purchases. Risky strategy but has paid off in the past.

Am wearing LKB navy leopard print wrap dress (another eBay purchase I tracked down after it sold out in my size) with flat black leather OTK boots and Rouge Noir nails to toughen it up a bit.

MarshaBrady · 23/01/2013 12:18

Nice Amber. Do you have the 50:50s?

No delivery today, drat. Am eagerly awaiting mine to see if it's right for me. Bit of a divergence, but sometimes can be good to mix it up.

AmberNectarine · 23/01/2013 12:27

No, I have a pair from Dune. Tried the 50/50s but they kept going wrinkly on my leg. These have no elastic and fit my leg perfectly. The suede ones were much much better though, so thinking of them for next Winter.

Knowing my luck my jeans will arrive today while I'm working and I'll have to haul my arse (and two children) to the depot.

MarshaBrady · 23/01/2013 12:31

Argh nightmare. Do they do a second delivery? Mine sometimes swings back round if he misses me. Nice DHL man.

They sound nice, and the suede. I love the look although I can't do OTK could get into some suede um knee high Lanvin ones if I could find some sale ones, heavily discounted .

AmberNectarine · 23/01/2013 13:20

DHL guy is great, but this is plain old Royal Mail, no special treatment there. I could arrange redelivery but then that's another day of being chained to the house. There is dept store near the depot with a cafe and a toy shop, so I will buy the kids off with that.

I love suede, but only in dark colours. My grey Jalpuse not looking their best after I dropped butter on one while cooking!

MarshaBrady · 23/01/2013 14:11

Ah yes of course Royal Mail.

I know. Dark suede is excellent. I dropped tuna oil on some KG pale suede boots and kaput. Luckily they were a bargain. But I've got to remember to avoid from now on. They do look lovely when new but lasts a millisecond.

Have been thinking about the skinnies thing and alternatives.

How do people feel about cuffed pants? Good or ahem no thanks.

AR silk trousers. They also look better on the model than off.

MarshaBrady · 23/01/2013 14:57

Actually if I'm going to dress up for something I pretty much always wear a dress. Perhaps something less dressy for day time. Not work ish unless working. Will look some more.

blondassassin · 23/01/2013 16:50

Love the cuffed trousers look Marsha but know what you mean about liking dresses for dressing up. The ones you linked look fabulous from the front but not sure the back view is very flattering.

Nice thing about living fairly rural is that I'm on first name terms with all delivery guys, including the postman Wink. He's very lovely and will often deliver my parcels to my mum's if i'm out and vice versa. Has even been known to flag one of us down in the village with a delivery, v handy!

libertychick · 23/01/2013 20:54

Popping in to say hi. Like Dona I am having a busy week and now shattered and I am going to a funeral tomorrow which I am dreading - stressing inanely about what to wear - possibly black dress but none of my boots are that appropriate to wear with the dress and there is likely to be a lot of standing around in the cold. Other option is skinny black trousers tucked into boots with smart shirt and cardi etc - actually as I read that back it becomes obvious - trousers it is.

Hope the jeans work out shop.
Marsha - I was thinking about starting a thread on casual(ish) trousers that are not jeans - like the ones you linked but rear view would be a problem - my saggy bum needs containing.

shopafrolic · 23/01/2013 21:29

Can I ask has Mignonette disappeared or has she name changed and I missed it?

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 23/01/2013 22:39

Not sure Shop, but Mignonette hope you are ok?

Thanks Liberty and Blonde. Good point on the behind view, going to look again I missed it. There's something satisfying about putting on denim and doing button up when they're freshly washed and snug.

Dona hope you're ok, not too under the weather.

Just watched a Mad Men s5, very good.

hello random post here, these stick on nails are BRILLIANT!

Annianni · 24/01/2013 09:29

Dona would you mind if I pm'd you?
I need some advice on something...

MarshaBrady · 24/01/2013 09:33

Some nicely reduced Bowies on that sales page.

Hey Emo, looks good.

I've decided that I can't think of an event/party where I'd not rather wear a dress, so they are nice but I need something for daytime instead.

AmberNectarine · 24/01/2013 10:02

I clocked those Bowies, am considering!

MarshaBrady · 24/01/2013 11:11

Go for it Amber! Which ones?

DonaAna · 24/01/2013 11:51

Go ahead Anni!

Received my new Filippa K sweater. Feels very different (in a good way) from the one I already have, so keeping it.

Busy day, half of the family sick and I'm traveling abroad for work on Sunday.
And quite a few things need to be resolved before I can leave.
Hope everyone else who feels under the weather / stretched a bit too thin will feel better soon!

Liberty hope the funeral goes well as those affairs can go, considering everything. Stay warm!

MarshaBrady · 24/01/2013 12:05

Oh yes Liberty sorry to hear about the funeral, hope it goes as well as it.

MarshaBrady · 24/01/2013 12:05

can.

DonaAna · 24/01/2013 21:21

Ran some errands tonight and walked past one of my favorite fashion indie boutiques here.

I've seen a lot of Chanel Boy bags lately and they had a cheeky rubber/vinyl version with a chunky chain there (not expensive either). Might need it - great colors too, bright white and cobalt among others. I could use a wipe-clean white bag Grin

libertychick · 24/01/2013 21:22

I cried a lot at the funeral. 34 year old who died from cancer - family are old friends and I know his parents really well - they lost another son in an accident 27 years ago - one of those days when you realise the importance of valuing what you have - sorry to be so morbid. I wore trousers so was warm.

Shop great Anna sale link - unfortunately my size is gone but I love these. I want a snakeskin loafer but would consider ankle boots have to stop shopping I have been wondering what has happened to Mingonette too - if you are out there missing the great posts and links.

Emo I think I'll try the nails - when it's this cold l like doing a home manicure on a Saturday afternoon when DD is sleeping and I can't be bothered with doing something useful with the time like exercising.

libertychick · 24/01/2013 21:23

Dona everyone needs a wipe clean white bag in their life Grin
