I like the pots of gel liner - over priced but you can get them ..ahem.. elsewhere so a lot cheaper Wink - so doesn't matter too much when they dry out.

The lip glosses are ok I suppose - but all the same colour really.Hmm

I was convinced by a friend that the new gel liners are fabulous and the really stay put. Errr no, tbh the Avon one is just as good and I prefer the colours, certainly not worth the £17 they cost and I have just wasted half the bloody pencil as you need to sharpen it every time you use it as it's so soft.

I love make up but I stand at the BB counter totally uninspired as everything looks the same colour!

Prepares to be flamed Grin

You know what is good and overlooked?

Revlon.

They need to rebrand that shit, it looks like 90s Cover Girl make up. But it is very good.

Pinot · 16/10/2012 16:26

ooh hell Boffy, I haven't tried it yet (the Clarins one), but I think Bourjois has released one as well. I don't have the pennies for Clarins right now not after that bloody perfume thread but Bourjois I'll get asap now you've reminded me :) Ta lovely

Pinot · 16/10/2012 16:26

Revlon Red nail polish is ULTIMATE Alexis from Dynasty red. FACT.

GetOrfAKAMrsUsainBolt · 16/10/2012 16:27

And another gem is the stuff they sell in Superdrug - I hadn't been in that shop for years but after a thread on here went and bought some Sleek eyeshadow palettes which were brilliant, and they have that really good brand MUA, and some benefit knock off.

UltraBOF · 16/10/2012 16:28

Ooh, Clarins? There's a shop round the corner from me that sells Clarins at really bargainous prices, if you like that sort of thing. What's the eyeliner called again? I might ask her if she has it or can get it in.

Pinot · 16/10/2012 16:30

Just called 3 Dot Liner I think. £20 or so.

miaowmix · 16/10/2012 16:30

Yes, agree re Revlon. Revlon lip butter is fantastic btw, and pretty cheap.
That benefit gold thing can be used as a highlighter but the true revelation for me was mixing it with moisturiser or smoothing it all over for a really subtle golden glow.
Saying that, I probably look like an orange Smile.

Clarins hand cream is in my top 10 beauty products of all time.

SugariceAndScary · 16/10/2012 16:33

I love Clarins.

I too love the make up from Superdrug, Sue Moxley does a face bronzer which is fantastic if you're pale skinned, gives a great glow.

Pinot · 16/10/2012 16:33

I've been using Elemis Pro-Collagen Hand Cream and it's spooooooky. My hands look all young and fresh again - it has really worked. I was getting hands like my Mum but no more. Result.

UltraBOF · 16/10/2012 16:42

Bummer, they've closed already. I'll try tomorrow.

ZombieTribble · 16/10/2012 16:53

You lot know nuffink!

Benefit Posietint is brilliant (as long as you don't apply it like the shop assistant does). I've worn that stuff for years doing night shifts along with clinique powerlash.

They do not move off of my skin! I know others may think this is a bad thing, but come 7am in the morning it is nice to feel that you do not look like a zombie panda.

valiumredhead · 16/10/2012 17:04

YY Revlon definitely need a re brand and bigger selection of colours but it is very good stuff generally.

Why do all the BB lipsticks look like they've been mixed with brown sludge?

Love the colours of the gel liners, specially Ivy & Forest, but the Clinique one lasts much longer. Stays soft to the bottom of the pot, the grey one is fab.

valiumredhead · 16/10/2012 17:07

Because they have Aque!

Arf @ Zombie panda Grin

HipHopOpotomus · 16/10/2012 17:27

"I love make up but I stand at the BB counter totally uninspired as everything looks the same colour!"

valium just to ask the obvious, why do you buy it? I mean there is so so so so so much make up in the world out there, why have you spent so much of your hard earned ££ on BB, when you don't like it, and none of the colours inspire you? I mean, I get why you might make a mistake one, but to keep going back - there is no need.

BTW I rock the zombie panda look Grin

BellaVita · 16/10/2012 17:39

I have some lovely Trish McEvoy foundation and primer. The sales assistant also threw in a full sized lip thing too, which I love.

I do like ByTerry, the mascara ByTerribly is fab.

I have a fantastic Sue Devitt eye pencil - really chunky, it can also be applied as an eye shadow too.

valiumredhead · 16/10/2012 17:41

hip Because people rave about it so much I always think I am missing a trick Grin

Trish McEvoy is fab stuff - I thought lots in the US years ago.

BellaVita · 16/10/2012 17:43

Val, I got mine in New York. The sales assistant was great, gave me loads and loads of freebie stuff.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 16/10/2012 17:47

I really like BB, it suits my skin. I wear the skin foundation, and I have a couple of the cream eyeshadow pots.
I don't wear much makeup though, am blessed with very good skin (thanks Mum!)

I also wear Benetint Grin

Never wear lipstick, just carmex or sometimes Clinique Superbalm.

GetOrfAKAMrsUsainBolt · 16/10/2012 18:18

I never wear lipstick - just balms or glosses.

I put some bright pink stuff on in the summer and thought I looked crazy.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 16/10/2012 18:31

GetOrf I sometimes try some and I look really bizarre - and also like my mother!

polyhymnia · 16/10/2012 19:00

I love many BB things, specially the cream eyeshadow, and also love Clarins skincare - use a lot of that range and often get compliments on my skin.

I also have other favourites, mainly By Terry, Becca, and Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. But don't fancy the idea of using anything by Revlon, or other cheap brands at all. Probably just being irrational, but still.

anniewoo · 16/10/2012 21:21

Aren't Bobbi Brown and Benefit owned by Estee Lauder/ Clinique ?

valiumredhead · 17/10/2012 13:01

Yes I think they are.
