I've bought a long sleeved black layering t shirt from H&M, a black and white Breton also from H&M and an animal print jumper from Whistles which is -bet lynch i fear or really subtly sexy and stylish...lying on my bed while I decide if I'll keep it. Bought them all because apart from the Breton ( of which I have about a dozen) I don't have anything like them.

What have you bought recently and why?

Cream gilet from Gap, because there was 25% off and I need a new gilet
Knitted skirt from Primark because it was super-cute (don't think it will wash at all well though...)
Black ankle boots from Kurt Geiger because I have been reading on this forum about how I must have ankle boots this winter

slug · 12/10/2012 10:00

Blue short sleeved dress from Next. Bought at the train station because I had endured wolf whistles and comments on my way into work so decided in retrospect the leggings and tunic I was wearing was probably a tad on the short side.

Running bra

Feck off expensive running shoes. I've just been allowed back running after nearly a year off with a foot injury. I had to have mega cushioned wide ones which meant spending loads in the running shop on sadly fluorescent men's running shoes.

filetheflightoffancy · 12/10/2012 10:31

Yesterday I bought a parka from new look with a leopard print hood - I really dont need another coat but I convinced myself that I need a parka!

A pair of grey classic short Ugg Boots - my old 'just sheepskin' ones had holes in from 6 winters.

A beige jumper with bright pink hearts on it from Topshop - because I saw it in the shop window and decided that I needed it in my life!

TooMuchRain · 12/10/2012 10:42

wool dress from Primark because I'm cold and I liked it (and it was cheap)
thermal tops from Uniqlo because I'm cold
wool tights from Autograph because I'm cold
Spot a theme here?? Smile

maisiebabe · 12/10/2012 12:20

Feck, am faintly embarrassed, the 3 items I OP'd look really feeble compared with the haul others have bought. Should not have started the thread, v v bad for ( new allsaints) wallet.

justread those flares and jacket are fab. What's the length and fit like on the jeans? Would be a nice alternative to skinnies.
And am now seriously coveting the Hudson coal boots... Have them in beige suede but hmmm, coal, yum.
Thanks for all the lovely links ladies Smile

Magenta thermal layering tee
Grey marl thermal layering tee
(because I needed them)
Black tunic dress with subtle grey seed head pattern all over and the most amazing brightly coloured floral meadow design near the hem. Hard to explain!
(because I fell in love with it)

justbogoffnow · 12/10/2012 12:27

3 packs of M&S pants for dc's

greedycow · 12/10/2012 12:30

Green parka coat
Black chelsea boots
Black leather gloves

All Tesco bargains bought because it's perishing in the morning and I have quite a walk from the car park to the office,

HoopDePoop · 12/10/2012 12:47

Orla Kiely for Uniqlo scarf - because I had a hideous hangover and it cheered me up

Cos black hooded coat - because I adore it and managed to justify cost somehow

Next red and wine striped knitted dress with elbow patches - because the colours are lovely, it's an easy to wear winter dress and mostly cos it was £10 in the sale

Great Plains dress- just because I liked it- wearing it for weekend away that is coming up.
Some T shirts/breton tops- Boden 40% off -needed some base layers
Victoriana style lacey white blouse-again had been searching for said garment.
Bought loads of tights today as well do they count?

smarmyarmy · 12/10/2012 13:47

Bought this gorgeous top from Asda to go with leggings whilst out doing my weekly shop - Can't recommended it enough and bargainous too!

A burgundy top from New Look to wear with jeans

and this cardigan to slouch around in.

Was in desperate need of some new clothes - and feeling a bit meh! Retail therapy always helps.

I've bought a navy peacoat from Uniqlo because it is £90 for quite a lot of wool and very warm.

Indigo skinnies - also Uniqlo - I like the fit even though they are way too long

azazello · 12/10/2012 14:42

And I got some Falke tights because I have very senstive skin and they don't irritate me.

nipersvest · 12/10/2012 14:48

my haul is meager in comparison to some listed here!

2 pairs of tights, one is navy the other is brown - £5 each from tesco. i love 'em tho, thick with a marl effect

grey leggings - £6 also tesco

Justreadthefuckingwords · 12/10/2012 14:53

Thanks for all the blazer love, it is good, I bagged the last small at MW but they still have it other sizes if anyone wants the discount code (and am very much looking forward to jettisoning the small people in a couple of weeks so I can swan around pretending to be glamorous & chic for a couple of days).

Masie fab thread - I love to see what people are buying, re the jeans, I'm 5' 7" (ish - may be shrinking slightly in me dotage), size 8/10 & I got the 27, really good fit with the high rise - usually have to get a 28 medium or low rise to accommodate my ample arse. Tried them on with my Belstaff Agnes which have about a 10cm heel & they were a perfect length, sat nicely on the toe (I am fairly long in the leg for my height).

Just got a 20% off code for Outnet if you're interested in them.

maisiebabe · 12/10/2012 15:25

justread would love both codes if poss. Followed your outnet link and saw a20% off code but couldn't be used on just in items- does your code apply to anything? Haven't ever bought high rise jeans and concerned but not really that I'll have to buy high heeled boots to wear with them Wink

Navy blue and tan striped merino wool jumper from Aubin and Wills - because I didn't have many smart winter jumpers.

Three vest tops (navy blue, racing green, burgundy) to wear underneath my jumpers!

Red skinny jeans - because I liked them.

MrsSnow · 12/10/2012 15:46

A pair of Dune biker-ish boots, because I loved them, because the heel wasn't too big, because I needed black boots!

H and M run leggings, because I needed another pair and they are cheaper than Sweaty Betty and because they were winter lined.

H and M (same shopping trip), got some vest tops with thick straps as they are good for winter layering. Also got a scarf - as you can never have too many scarves!

mycatlikestwiglets · 12/10/2012 15:58

These boots, because Outnet have an extra 20% off today, and it would be rude not to take them up on their kind offer (plus have been after these sorts of thing for a while). Just taken delivery of them (hurrah for same day delivery) and they are beeyoootiful!

A grey long sleeved dress from Theory for work, also from Outnet, for same reason as above (not tried on yet).

Some fishnet kneehighs from Boots (to wear under trouser suits).

Justreadthefuckingwords · 12/10/2012 16:49

Masie - pah - just noticed the Outnet one excluded just-in items, still £64 for a pair of Current/Elliots - not too shabby (& yes, sadly, you will need to buy high boots to wear with them - just doing my bit for the economy...).

MW code is AW12TREAT100, can be used as many times as you want apparently (dangerous).

Great boots Mycat - can people please stop linking covetable things (am also very jealous of your same day deliver option).

chanie44 · 12/10/2012 21:01

a black a-line skirt from Uniqlo, which I ordered on line to wear for work, but when it arrived, I didn't like it.

A pair of slim straight leg blue jeans from Uniqlo (when I was returning the above skirt in store).

a pair of knickers from Victoria's Secrets - if I like the quality, I will get some more.

As the first item was a refund, my third item:

ballet pumps from clarks - they weren't exactly what I was looking for, but they were half price in the sale.
