I am going to the end of year university ball. Again.

I am 5'3" and size 16/18. Big norks, fat tummy, nice legs. I don't wear heels. So over the whole ball gown thing. Am afraid I will look like a bit fat ugly frump.

Oh gawd, not again!

Have a look in Wallis. There is a gorg green dree in there.

YOu have to wear heels btw

beetroot · 15/03/2006 17:31

and go to a department store and get them to do your make up for free.

Carmenere · 15/03/2006 17:32

Wear wedges as they are very comfy for the heel-shy

Smurfgirl · 15/03/2006 17:40

I know I know beety. But will be with dp this year celebrating 1st anniversary and had no ball ticket trauma.

I don't do heels at all. Ever. Although maybe could reconsdier, but all wedges seem mega high. Am having hair done, dp paying.

fgs you can't wear a ballgown with flatties

Why don't you go in black tie? As long as you don't mind that people think you are a lesbian

Carmenere · 15/03/2006 17:44

Ah but that is the very thing about wedges, they are not actually high, they just seem high as the angle of the heel only starts at the the sole of the foot so a 1 1/2 heel can look like a 3 inch heel. If that makes any senseSmile

CountessDracula · 15/03/2006 17:45

Do you have a passable back?

I have something nice you may fit into but I wouldn't lend it to you unless you wore heels Grin

Smurfgirl · 15/03/2006 17:52

I wore flatties last year. Umm. This is what I wore last year.

And I do have a nice back. No spots or anything.

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 15/03/2006 17:56

yes is not really bally like that more cocktaily

Black crepe with cowl neck and big hole in back is quite glam. I would wear to a ball as I don't do ballgowns as yo say am so over that thing

Smurfgirl · 15/03/2006 17:59

Sounds nice, would it be suitable for fat tum? Fat tum is hidden in cunning ballgown in that pic BTW.

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 15/03/2006 18:02

yes as is a bit ruched round tum

not as suitable as ballgown tho

Smurfgirl · 15/03/2006 18:05

V.good because am boycotting ballgown as have gone to 6 balls in 6 years now and worn a ball gown to each!!
