Are there DM fans on S&B?

Surely so Grin

Anyway, TK Maxx has loads in, just bought a pair of these for £39.99!

They're the ones that I've been wearing solidly for 9 months of the year for the last 2 years Mrsmeow and they still look exactly the same. They are so comfy. I think I'll actually mourn those boots should they ever fall to bits!

fanoftheinvisibleman · 31/08/2012 16:27

Oh and has anyone got any idea how I stop my patent docs from squeaking so badly? To be honest other than the odd attempt I've only worn them to gigs when you can't tell how damn noisy they are!

Fanoftheinvisibleman, that's really good to know - thanks :) they do look pretty hard wearing I must admit, mind you, my Triumphs still look like new and they're 2 years old. I think they'd look even better a bit battered though!

Not sure about stopping your patent ones squeaking. Maybe if all else fails you could take to carrying a small mouse around to blame it on? Wink

fanoftheinvisibleman · 31/08/2012 16:44

Ha ha! Yeah, I could try it with the hamster but I doubt he'd be happy.

It wouldn't be so bad if they were black but they're conspicuous enough in pink without hearing me a street away!

MrsMeow · 31/08/2012 16:52

Oh they sound the same as the ones DD wants, they're gorgeous, even if they are squeaky!

Mind you, I shouldn't laugh, the buckles on my Triumphs jingle jangle with every step. All I need to do is shout "unclean" and people would think I had the plague.

fanoftheinvisibleman · 31/08/2012 17:17

They are very lovely, I tend to just wear them in the house and photograph them a lot (in a full on geek manner!) But then wear the others.

I was very lucky with them too. A friend gave them to me, brand new, never even been laced. And before you say they squeak because they weren't paid for, I did make her take £20 in the end as I felt too guilty to just walk away with them knowing what they'd make on ebay. She just said she wanted to see them worn as had fallen in love with them but didn't think she had the 'look' to pull them off. I however, have forgotten that I am no longer 18 and shoegaze is no longer where it's at!

cerealqueen · 31/08/2012 22:28

fanoftheinvisibleman WD40 or some vaseline rubbed in round the joins? Or dubbin?

fanoftheinvisibleman · 31/08/2012 22:32

I'll give it a go cerealqueen. Thanks.

fanoftheinvisibleman · 31/08/2012 22:32

I bought mine today from tk maxx, I'm so so happy!!! GrinGrinGrin

xmasevebundle · 01/09/2012 20:01

I love them, i like the 8 hole more though. Im currently saving up for the serena boots for winter. My dad has cherry red from the 80s.

They where made in northampton, but i dont know where they are made now.

I dont really like the flower ones(no offence) they seem too girly, they should be worn with abit of egde!

JoyceDivision · 01/09/2012 20:25

I've been trawling my local tk maxxs (and ot very local) abd they only have the high heele cherry boots! Ajnyone jknoe where the 14 hole 'standard' black boots the op found are luirking at any store?

veeeee · 02/09/2012 21:48

Joyce mine were in Chatham

JoyceDivision · 02/09/2012 22:24

Freshletticiaandslugs · 02/09/2012 22:35

Loving the DM thread! I have 2 pairs of Diva Darcie boots in brown laredo and black flower-print patent, a pair of Diva Una brown clogs, 2 pairs of Diva mary-janes with 3 straps in red and black, a pair of flat gladiator sandals, a pair of ancient brown slides with a 2inch sole, a pair of black leather sandals with the same 2inch sole, a pair of toepost sandals which I hate and my ancient purple flat boots.
I think that is all for now Grin
my faves are the Diva range, they have heels and height but hidden platform so are really comfy.
Don't get me started on listing my Fly collection.....

SideshowBoob · 13/09/2012 21:49

Am very excited to be purchasing a pair of traditional 8 hole DM ankle boots v soon. Only thing is I can't decide between black and that deep purplish colour...

PerryCombover · 13/09/2012 22:16

I have 5 pairs of dms
I love them

iloveblue · 14/09/2012 12:44

Thanks OP - just popped into my local TKMaxx on the off-chance they might have some and got these for £34.99.
I'm don't normally wear heels but I fell in love with them and they are so comfy!

Dawndonna · 14/09/2012 14:55

Gayles have arrived, been wearing them all week. Really comfy.

Lavendergirl · 27/01/2013 11:35

I've just been staring for hours (on and off) at the Triumphs on the Dr Martens wesite and found all your comments. Still trying to justify the cost though even if I say they're an early birthday present to myself. Who here has the Triumphs? And shold I get black, grey or the dark brown ones? Please someone decide for me! store.drmartens.co.uk/p-8423-dr-martens-triumph-1914-w-boot.aspx
