How do you wear your bras?

Do you like to wear them super tight so you know they are there and leave bra marks when you take them off, or have them at a looser more comfortable setting? Im asking this because i have realised all of my old bras are pretty super tight on me, but my new ones are so comfortable and no way as tight but i wonder if they will still support my bust the same?

They are more similar to Panache (Fantasie) brands than Freya sizing.

PacificDogwood · 02/09/2012 13:55

Are you guys all breaking brastop just now??

I am trying to put this into my basket and it Will Not Go Confused

Oh well.

SorrelForbes · 02/09/2012 14:00

I see M&S are advertising their new lingerie range by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The pics looks nice but, yep, you guessed it, the size range is arse. The DD-G bras start at a 32 back. No good if you're a 30G!

M&S you are so disappointing Angry.

ItsMyLastOne · 02/09/2012 14:06

Pacific it worked for me. Maybe that particular size is OOS? Or are you on your phone or on an app or something?

Sorrel did you see she was on Jonathan Ross the other night and talked a bit about how so many women are wearing the wrong size. There is no way on earth that woman could be a 32 back so she must have been wearing the wrong size for the photos!

PacificDogwood · 02/09/2012 14:08

ItsMyLastOne, am on laptop and I have tried a few random sizes thinking it might be out of stock in mine, but now joy.
Just out of interest which size did you successfully get? Envy 'Tis rather gorgeous!!

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/09/2012 14:11

I have that Fauve bra in a different colour - I think it comes up big in the cup so unless your boobs are very full on top I would probably go down a size

Curvy Kate - currently have a bunch of them in the house waiting to go back/stay. I wear a mix of 30H and 30HH in Freya, and a 30HH in Bravissimo Alans, Demi Diva, etc etc.

From Curvy Kate I fit:
Tease me - 30H seems fine although waiting for the HH to arrive to confirm.
Thrill Me - 30HH
Fleurty - 30HH
Emily - in between a 30H and HH but I don't like the lift it gives.

The back is slightly loose - more like Freya than Bravissimo or Panache. I am staying with a 30 but I did order the 28s to try in the Thrill Me and they did also fit, but the 30 felt a little better overall. So if you are on the small end of your back size I would consider going down one.

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 14:17

Right.

I got a lovely black and pink Chantelle, also a blue one. A teal Triumph too.

And a Chantelle t-shirt bra in flesh.

All 34DD.

It's weird. I'm actually feeling different. When you're an A-cup it's part of your identity. And now I'm a DD!!

I've gone from flat to buxom. It's fab!

Thank you all! So much!

I'm comfy!!

HazleNutt · 02/09/2012 14:17

About the new M&S line - see here : she does not have big breasts to support, the bra is at its tightest hook and still wrinkled and climbing up, even though I'm sure she was standing still for the photo. Of course it's not the right size.

SorrelForbes · 02/09/2012 14:18

No, I didn't see her on JR but did read an article a week or so ago where she was saying the same thing. She is either deluded or being fibbed to!

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/09/2012 14:22

psstt Pacific - if you like that one, look here

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 02/09/2012 14:23

TBF, seeing as M&S don't do any clothes small enough for me, I'm not really that surprised that they don't go below a 32 in most of their ranges.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/09/2012 14:28

I just showed that pic of RHW to DH - his response "but it's not straight at the back, that doesn't fit"

Blush
PacificDogwood · 02/09/2012 15:07

It just worked - yeah, 2 more bras and knicks on their way Smile

Statistically, thanks for that link - looks fab, not much in my size at the moment thank goodness Wink.
Isn't it nice to know that your DH listens to you?

I wish there was a 'like' button for that post, Marai.

I've always liked the look of my boobs, but defensive about the size.

A sad indictment, but nonetheless - I'm comfy!!!

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 15:41

Mirai, sorry.

LOL!

I am trying to buy a new car ATM, as soon as I have got that out of the way I will be heading bra shopping :)

ebaymad · 02/09/2012 16:18

So if i measure 29 across ribcage and 36 boobage what would that make me?

I wear a 34 d/dd and it's a bit hit and miss with boob flesh everywhere...

HazleNutt · 02/09/2012 16:24

28 or 30 and I'd try around F

ebaymad · 02/09/2012 16:29

Thanks!

I was always 33 but i suppose losing half a stone has changed that.

Can't wait to try bras on now.

gypsyfloss · 02/09/2012 19:50

None of my brastop bras fit, despite me ordering the same size as the new one I had from the bra dept the other day :( Horrible cups on two and all 4 too large on the underbust meaurement.

Silly question I know...when I measure myself and measure on my boobs I presume I do that with a bra on? If I do it without the inch difference is v small and if I do it with my favourite padded bra then it is much larger. So which is the accurate result?

If I am 28.5 underbust and 34 over in a medium padded bra, what should I look for? I am desperate for a decent padded tshirt bra in nude.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/09/2012 20:09

Unfortunately different bras can hugely distort your measurements. For me, if I measure my overbust with a bra off, but while leaning over so everything is sticking out (well, down!) - on me this gives a measurement which equates very well to my actual size.

I noticed upthread you say you got on well well with a 32e but given your measurements that might be a bit off. You could try the Freya Deco - I think it only starts at a 30 but it's a moulded nude t-shirt bra. I have previously got on well with the wonderbra version too.

HauntedLittleLunatic · 02/09/2012 20:28

I was going to ask about measuring with/without bra.

I get 37" without bra
36" with a non padded, lightly moulded t shirt bra, (not heavily squished in).
37 1/2" with a heavily padded t shirt bra.

I'm assuming the 36 or 37 is the 'correct measurement' so I'm going to start at a 34B/C or 32C/D (underbust is 33 1/2)

Hmm...I'm not really sure where to start am I cos that's 4 starting points.

gypsyfloss · 02/09/2012 20:28

Right I'll give the dangly udders boobs measuring thing a go . Yes, the 32E is what the bra dept gave me, after I'd tried on everything else. And it's fine, great shape , the hooks irritate slightly but I can fix a piece of fabric to cover that. The catch is that it is in lilac so fine under jumpers and not so great under cream blouses.
