How do you wear your bras?

Do you like to wear them super tight so you know they are there and leave bra marks when you take them off, or have them at a looser more comfortable setting? Im asking this because i have realised all of my old bras are pretty super tight on me, but my new ones are so comfortable and no way as tight but i wonder if they will still support my bust the same?

I feel like I've had a free boob job!

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 09:08

Oh, right.

Why is everything so confusing in the world of tit support? Confused

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/09/2012 09:15

Rockin, I think that bizarrely the AA is smaller than an A - but in all other cases the double is bigger - so AA,A,B,C,D,DD etc

Stupid I know

Haunted - straps being too wide is actually most likely due to the band being too wide. They are positioned for someone who is literally wider than you, so you might find this stops being a problem if you go down a back (p.s. I'd also be trying the 32 as you are between measurements)

In terms of style it's a very personal thing, and I have a total mix in my wardrobe to suit different necklines and tops. I would always make sure you have (if possible) at least one which is seam free (like a moulded T shirt) to wear under anything clingy. This may double up as your plunge depending on which you buy. I also find a half cup useful if you wear anything scoop necked so they dont show at the edges.

Most of my day to day are balcony styles as they give me the best support but I have a fair amount to hold up!

CelticOlympian · 02/09/2012 10:09

Interesting thread! I'm another one that spots a badly fitting bra at 50 paces. I'm losing weight at the moment, will have to replace all my bras when I stop.

My aunt is an M&S manager, I remember her telling me she'd been on the bra fitting course and she could tell I was a 38C. Confused I'm a 32/34G. No wonder they get it wrong.

CelticOlympian · 02/09/2012 10:11

Sports bra wise, anyone tried the Enell? Ugly but oh so effective! I also like the Panache although it comes up big.

I have a Freya Active but it just doesn't cut it for anything higher impact than hill walking.

HazleNutt · 02/09/2012 11:01

I really don't understand M&S. Ok, you've been told that a person measuring this should be around that size. But when you see her in a bra, it should still be obvious that a four-boobing, up-climbing bra with underboobs and middle part miles from the chest is NOT how a well-fitting bra should look like?

Celtic did you tell your aunt she is miles off?

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 11:02

Live OB from Fenwicks fitting room.

brighthair · 02/09/2012 11:08

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 11:10

Hang on...sorry, Chantelle 34D a bit small.

I was an A cup when I got up this morning Confused

brighthair · 02/09/2012 11:10

Try a 34DD in that one if you like it

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 11:11

I feel fabulous!!

34DD so far...

HazleNutt · 02/09/2012 11:13

Mumsnet advertises: Magic! From A to DD in 5 minutes, no surgery required! Grin

CelticOlympian · 02/09/2012 11:21

Hazle I did, not sure it got through though! Even in the right size I find M&S bras crap.

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 11:30

Have just flounced out of Marks, perky DDs aloft!

HazleNutt · 02/09/2012 11:35

and rock, now that you know your size, check out this site:

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 02/09/2012 11:42

rockin - remember to scoop your back fat in! You might be an E! Grin

I love this thread Grin

M&S balcony style are awful. They dig in horribly in the armpit and the cups are too deep.

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 12:03

Oh, I'm scooping like a mutha!

Well done, rock, sounds like you are having a great time Smile

ItsMyLastOne · 02/09/2012 13:30

Did you see brastop are doing an extra 15% off but it ends tonight?

HazleNutt · 02/09/2012 13:43

Hm brastop has some really cute Curvy Kate ones, but I haven't tried this brand - does anybody know how they compare with Freya and Fantasie, same sizing or should I go up/down a size?
