How do you wear your bras?

BedHeadTigi · 25/08/2012 18:44

Do you like to wear them super tight so you know they are there and leave bra marks when you take them off, or have them at a looser more comfortable setting? Im asking this because i have realised all of my old bras are pretty super tight on me, but my new ones are so comfortable and no way as tight but i wonder if they will still support my bust the same?

Well, there had to be one woman in Britain wearing the correct brasize and not suffering D+ denial, madwoman Grin

brighthair · 02/09/2012 07:48

mirai - if you have four boob the cup is too small so you need to go up a cup - try an F or an FF

brighthair · 02/09/2012 07:49

rockinastocking - 32DD would be a good starting point

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 07:49

Please?

Am dying to know. Have been an A or B all my life Grin

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 07:51

FUCK ME!

Really???

GrinConfusedBlush

Wow!

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 07:52

Sorry for outburst Blush

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 07:55

But...they look so little...

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/09/2012 08:09

Just to echo - 4 boobs means you need to go up. On me, if the bra looks ok when I am breathing out, but gets a little overbump when I breathe in, then I need to go up one cup. If I have proper quad boob all the time, then it tends to be more like 2 cups.

Ha ha ha rockininastocking! I would agree with the recommended start point too - this is the point where you realise that darn near every news story which mentions a bra size is bollocks, and Katie Price is not a D/DD!

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 08:12

I find it hard to believe. I don't know why but I'm THRILLED.

Wait until you try one on and look at your boobs GrinGrin

Just catching up with all the new posts on here. It's so heartening to hear about everyone's new bra purchases and sizing discoveries (however shocking/thrilling!).

We will beat DD denial Grin (apart from madwoman of course!)

'Tis lifechanging, believe me, it is

PacificDogwood · 02/09/2012 08:21

I will always remember the time I went bra shopping as a 34 E and came home a 32FF.

It look great but I was dismayed by the FF thing. My sister said it stood for Fucking Fantastic Grin

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 08:31

I'm going to be banging on the door of Fenwicks in about an hour.

I've never FELT like a 38A.

I'll be gutted if the 32DD doesn't fit. Which size should I try next if they don't?

PacificDogwood · 02/09/2012 08:36

You could try 30E or 34D if the band feels too lose/tight.
If the band allows 2 fingers underneat but the cups seem big/small keep the back size and change cupsizes.

Remember to scoop Wink!

And try different styles.
Have fun!

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/09/2012 08:39

Try sizes round about - so if yo have space in the cup, try a D. If you have 4 boobs, try an E. It's a bit trial and error.

Your back will feel firm to begin with, and make sure you have scooped everything forward as this can make a back that fits feel far too small.

So excited!!

This thread needs to be in Classics. Public service broadcasting at its best!

HauntedLittleLunatic · 02/09/2012 08:53

Ok.

I am wearing a 36A. I have conceeded that I will try would try the tighter band after wearing mine on the tightest hook for a few days. The cup is too big though.
I measure 33" and a little bit and 37" naked, (36" if I am wearing a non padded bra -should you wear a bra or not when measuring??). I think this puts me in a 34C as a starting point? But surely that is a bigger cup than on my gapey 36A?

So I was going to try on a range of sizes in next yesterday but fitting rooms were closed (tis a bit of a pain to get to JL/Debs and I don't have a bravissiomo near (and they would laugh at lack of boobage).

But I bought a bikini top in the sale in 34B. I definitely found it a better shape (although with my nice bras I am a nice shape anyway imo). The cup was possibly on the small side so I will try a 34C when I can get to try them on.

rockinastocking · 02/09/2012 09:04

And the other misapprehension I've been labouring under ALL MY LIFE is that double sizes are smaller than single. So, an AA would be smaller than an A.

I've comforted myself for years with that fact.

HauntedLittleLunatic · 02/09/2012 09:04

I would also like some guidance on what style of bra?

I usually go for t shirt or padded t shirt. I also like to have a nice lacey one in, and usually buy this 2 pack in.a new colour each year - gives a lovely shape imo.

Hope the link works (it is a 2 pack of teal and navy embroidery bras).

I tend to avoid balcony bras (unless I want a multi-way) cos the straps tend to be set too wide apart and dig in near my armpit and/or slip off my shoulders all day.

HauntedLittleLunatic · 02/09/2012 09:06

AA is smaller than A and AAA is smaller than AA.

All the other double sizes are bigger than there single tho I think.
