What's your budget? Not sure which colour would work best with that dress tbh

Ketuk · 10/08/2012 21:36

Sorry- budget not such an issue, though I don't want to spend hundreds, as I don't wear formal things very often tbh.
If I found things I could use again, than happy to spend reasonable amount.

I was thinking a pink wrap or cardigan would go nicely, sort of rose pink, as the green is the colour of rose stems/leaves.

Sound okay?

I think some kind of gold theme could work well...I'll have a look and see what I can find.

ScooseLooseAbootThisHoose · 10/08/2012 21:40

Hmm not sure about pink really what about gold?

ScooseLooseAbootThisHoose · 10/08/2012 21:41

X post mrs

ScooseLooseAbootThisHoose · 10/08/2012 21:41

Loads of gorgeous gold bags and jewellery in accessorize

MrsLocog · 10/08/2012 21:45

These are probably a bit love or hate (I'm not even sure) but if you were going for a gold theme... shoes.

Not sure about pink either - I think it would need to be quite a vivid pink to work, or a raspberry shade. It might work on the wrap side of things but not for shoes etc.

LazyDoll · 10/08/2012 21:45

Agree with MrsLocog gold or nude I think with that shade of green. John Lewis has some nice wedges which might go with your 'not too formal' wedding? Smile

I've been rummaging about and have a few ideas but, erm, well, how old are you? It's a dress that's almost bound to make you look middle aged - is a bit of an old fashioned cut. The shiny fabric is likely to emphasise any lumps and bumps and the cut looks like it could create a tummy where the is none. It's hard to accessorize - plain and detailed at the same time IYSWIM. The colour is fab though.

So, have you tried it on? Does it fit like and heaven and make you feel amazing?

Ketuk · 10/08/2012 21:59

Erk. I'm 38.
It does look nice on, really!

Wouldnt say amazing, because Im not really a dress person! Grin

I bet you look gorgeous kertuk!!

MrsLocog · 10/08/2012 22:08

I think it could look lovely - it's hard to comment on what it looks like from the shop photo. Trust your instincts!

What do you think of the nude/gold idea? You could go with nudes/golds, but then maybe a splash of coral? that might look good?

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 10/08/2012 22:10

38, that's no age. More mother of the bride that 30's but hell, if you love it you love it!

this has a lot of similarities but is less dated likely to be aging.
this too actually.
Oh and davina, natch Wink

the price of yours is much nicer though.

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 10/08/2012 22:40

but anyway how about nude wedges (need to click the colour), fab clutch and a creamy pashmina?

Ketuk · 10/08/2012 22:47

Oh noooo! Mother of the bride is exactly what I wish to avoid Sad

Am v much older sister of the bride, with no mother IYSWIM, and have a feeling most guests will be a generation younger than DH and me.

I do have nude wedges though! Grin

or gold heels and bronze clutch? would be great with the nude wedges too

Ketuk · 10/08/2012 22:49

I do have another dress- this one, but I'm worried it will be too flashy (it's very bright- I usually wear Navy, grey and black!) It's a little more pinky than that in rl

Ketuk · 10/08/2012 22:50

x-posts- I like both those heels and the clutch, thank you procrastination

No idea on your shape / style / colouring, but what do you think of this number?

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 10/08/2012 22:52

wow the fuscia dress is amazing. would you feel comfortable in it though?

Ketuk · 10/08/2012 22:54

Smile that's the issue really, feels very dressed up for me.

I am v short- 5'0", and a 12 atm (but a lumpy 12, and both those dresses mask that, well, apart from my arms)
