no, love the fuscia dress but might look a bit too 'trying to be trendy'.

I don't mean to be a bitch Blush

Ketuk · 10/08/2012 22:55

I think the colours in MintVelvet always wash me out btw- I am quite pale, with mid-brown and grey hair. (I'm such a knock-out me Wink)

That's not bitchy! Grin

Ketuk · 10/08/2012 22:58

But, I'd would feel a lot more comfortable if it were in navy Grin

I really really don't want to wear a dark colour to a wedding though

Grey is good. Very good. Chic, flattering and easy.

this and the gold shoes?

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 10/08/2012 23:03

Oh, and practice wearing dresses in life ASAP, that'll really help. Honest.

chocolateteabag · 10/08/2012 23:03

I love the green dress, would suggest a spray tan unless you are already tanned and then black shoes and jacket
this lk Bennett one on eBay is nicely structured. You then need a cool fascinator you could rent this one?

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 10/08/2012 23:05

this bag with the lady v dress and gold shoe combo.

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 10/08/2012 23:07

rusty orange does look great with the green of the rose dress. Couldn't find a rust clutch so maybe orange skin is the way forward Wink

wellilikemythinking · 10/08/2012 23:07

Oh i feel your pain!!! I am was in the same boat until v recently. DSi getting married in 2 weeks and the dress I finally found and loved apparently was the same colour as the bridesmaids Sad So I got it in navy then panicked that it was not summer weddingy enough so after traipsing around got some lush shoes that did not have matching bag (I now have 3 off ebay I have to return lol) now have one thats almost there and will have to do as am fed up
Anyhoo back to point I summered it up with champagne/gold satin/lace peep toes and bag and a wrap just incase. BTW I am 36 and soooo don't want to look frumpy like I always do with hindsight!

Ketuk · 10/08/2012 23:09

Gosh- I'm sorry, but I think I'd look like Grayson Perry in the LadyVLondon dress! Blush

OP posts:
ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 10/08/2012 23:09

but, matching shoes and bag is frumptastic

Ketuk · 10/08/2012 23:11

welli- that sounds just like me Grin

I will probably end up wearing same colour as groom's mother, or something embarrassing. Or 3 other girls women will be wearing the fuchsia dress...

Ketuk · 10/08/2012 23:12

Ah- thank you procrastination- I shall avoid that 'Bucket' faux pas then.

See- MN teaches you everything!

OP posts:
wellilikemythinking · 10/08/2012 23:18

Frumptastic????? Oh rollocks ....see am wrong again!!!!

Take no advice from me then back to the drawing board and I thought i looked lovely

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 10/08/2012 23:21

I'm sure you do wellilike! A quick swap of bag or shoes and you'll look up to date as well as lovely.

wellilikemythinking · 10/08/2012 23:22

Also last wedding I went to I struggled again for outfit until witch in wallis said she had a dress that was not on the floor yet and surprise surprise the first person I encountered at the wedding was wearing the same bleedin dress!
Was actually to my benefit though cos dc kept hold of her leg instead of mine so every cloud eh?
Good luck Ket I will keep watchin and learning

wellilikemythinking · 10/08/2012 23:24

Procras...will I not look a mismash if I have a navy dress and head gear and different shoes and different bag?

chocolateteabag · 10/08/2012 23:28

I'm 36 (tired mum of toddler) and going to wedding with stylish London folk. Have settled on this dress from Anthropologie with my attempt at a butterfly headpiece. Havn't decided on shoes yet - lk b snake print sledges or as yet unfound pair
I hate weddings - pressure to scrub up well and not look like mutton dressed as lamb or like a MOB, was so much easier when I was a bridesmaid and had no choice on outfits

Ketuk · 10/08/2012 23:30

I love the colour of that chocolate- really nice.

OP posts:
wellilikemythinking · 10/08/2012 23:33

Ketuk do you have an idea of what you are going to go for now?

Ketuk · 11/08/2012 00:00

Argh... still not sure. Maybe take both dresses back and get a nice safe navy one?
With nude wedges, and a gold clutch.

Sound good?

ScooseLooseAbootThisHoose · 11/08/2012 00:02

I got a gorgeous navy maxi in phase eight which I wore for a wedding i accessorised with gold

Ketuk · 11/08/2012 00:27

This is quite nice from Monsoon ... what do you think?

OP posts:
ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 11/08/2012 09:45

That's better, very nice!.

these, this and this would be phenomenal with it, but probably not your thing. More realistically for your taste - these, this and a pale, creamy pashmina would be stunning. Classy and understated.
