I don't have one favourite, but on the shortlist there is:

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle
Chanel No.5
Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb
Jean Paul Gaultier Classique
Dior Addict
Space NK Champaca

Paloma Picasso

I'm a fan of Coco Mademoiselle and have just bought the Space NK Champaca in the sale... I hate the Jean Paul Gaultier one though, reminds me of a really vile woman I used to work with who used to marinate in it.

My 'signature scent' is Angel Blush - it seems to be universally loathed on here, but I've worn it since I was 16 and I luff it. The Chanel Allure Sensuelle is really gorgeous too, but now reminds me of work as I wore it to work every day for months - so that's kinda killed it, I wish I'd kept it for naice occasions Sad.

I also really love the original Lolita Lempicka - really unusual, have never smelled anything like it. And Dior Dune. And Vivienne Westwood Boudoir. They are the 'staples' that I re-buy and re-buy and try to keep 'in stock', with other new/old/impulse purchases thrown in from time to time. One I haven't bought for a while but really like is Estee Lauder Pure White Linen. Must add it to the shopping list.

Poison and its different variations especially hypnotic for going out. My favourite every day fragrance is sunflowers.

emsyj · 27/07/2012 20:28

Do you mean the men's version is nice for women too, chinley, or that it's nice on men? I know some of the Penhaligon's fragrances are unisex and some are aimed at one sex but preferred by the other, do I need to buy the men's LL for DH or myself? Wink

ken0eddie0kennedy · 27/07/2012 20:28

Clarins eau dynamisante & resourcant (sp).

Liz Earle botanicals no 1

Prada d'iris

Chanel Chance

Next purchase will be Dior Portofino. It is simply beautiful! Like my scents to be green & fresh.

ILikeMagicMike · 27/07/2012 20:35

emsyj - you and I must have the same taste in fragrance!

I love Angel too, but only tend to wear it on a night out. I also used to love Boudoir, but then when I used to work in cosmetics, a colleague came up to me and said, "Come and smell this really vile perfume" and it was that! I did tell her that I had and she was embarrassed, but after that it kinda put me off!

I'll be on a mission tomorrow to go and try out all the other ones!

EllenParsons · 27/07/2012 20:51

I love loads of perfumes but my favourite might be Gucci Envy Me

barbie1 · 27/07/2012 20:53

Your favourite list is very much like mine, try Prada candy. It's new and smells lovely!

ILikeMagicMike · 27/07/2012 20:55

I used to have that Gucci Envy Me - can't remember if I liked it or not though.

It's funny how your fragrances change as you get older - I used to wear Versace Red Jeans and Sun Moon Stars as a teenager, then progressed on to Cerruti 1881, Gucci Envy, Gucci Rush, Anna Sui and DKNY one in a tall bottle.

Definitely if I smelled any of these again, it would take me right back to that time in my life.

Thanks barbie1 - I will take a list with me tomorrow to Boots!

Got £70 on advantage card so might treat myself!

My DH wears Penhaligon's Opus 1870 and Quercus (obviously I buy them, so I can choose them Grin) - will test out the LL men's one, might have to buy that for him if it's that good chinley! Grin Grin Grin

OP, you should definitely try the Allure Sensuelle - I'm not normally a fan of 'versions' of perfumes, but it's really distinctive and quite different from the original Allure. I just wish I hadn't worn it to work at a horrible job that I eventually walked out of. Oh well, maybe the memory will fade and I can wear it again.

I've only ever had positive comments on Boudoir - especially from men. The only times that men have ever commented on my perfume, I've been wearing either Boudoir or Lolita Lempicka. My most-commented, most-complimented perfume is Lolita Lempicka, everyone from my friend's dad to work colleagues to close friends seems to love it.

ILikeMagicMike · 27/07/2012 21:06

Ooh ok Allure Sensuelle on the list too!

First time I smelled Lolita Lempicka was years and years ago in Paris and I thought it was a bit "Angel-ey" - I did like it, but already had Angel so didn't see the point in getting a similar one.

But maybe it was a different LL one?

HazleNutt · 27/07/2012 21:10

Clinique Happy
or Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanilla and Coco combined

emsyj · 27/07/2012 21:11

I think it has some similar notes, but it's less sweet and more aniseedy. It is quite different IMO - the one in a lime green box, in a purple apple-shaped bottle is the one I mean. Initially when you smell it there is something faintly Angel-y about it, but the fragrance when it develops is not really similar.

4boyzmum · 27/07/2012 21:18

I love Gwen Stefani 'G'. The blue one of the little dolls. I know it's a bit naff to like a celeb perfume but it smells deliciously coconutty, as soon as i put it on im reminded of holidays!! Get alot of people telling me i smell gorgeous when i wear it too Smile

ILikeMagicMike · 27/07/2012 21:21

I've heard other people say good things about those Harajuku perfumes - might need to try them out too!
