Can I wear footless tights this summer?

Just wondering what mumsnet verdict is on footless tights under dresses this summer?

Well I plan to and I really doubt i'll be the only one. I think they have passed some threshold and are just a staple item now, like leggings and tunics, or skinny jeans.

Just go bare legged fgs

Tunics= mumsy

Tunics= great bum coverage for those of us with big booties

I think tunics make big bums look even bigger. They are too short, a dress is much more flattering.

Being a bit dim but do you mean flesh coloured footless tights or just thin leggings?

I don't wear either as don't do tunics but intrigued as to footless tights . . .

Well as ever I am slow on the uptake and have only just discovered the world of leggings under dresses. IN YOUR FACE chafing thinghs and sweaty nethers :)

There is very little distinction these days between short loose dresses and certain tunics (see Warehouse, Zara, Mango etc) so 'tunics = mumsy' is a very sweeping statement, non ?

I wore some last week while the sun was out... skirt was a bit on the short side and legs a bit, well, yuk. My fairly fashionable friend also arrived one day in them.

Are these sold as footless tights or are they just cheap leggings? I plan to wear them - perhaps to work with ballet pumps as I think they look odd with heels.

Footless tights slightly more sheer and fine than leggings, and are always ankle length not calf length

I like them, I think they are a good transitional piece
