Do younger women wear Moulded bras more?

MsNorbury · 29/03/2012 14:37

If they have tits, not fried eggs.
Chatting to younger colleague about it and she NEVER wears non moulded. I have a new moulded one that i am taking time to get used to but can see in the summer avoids nipple show.
She also thinks my wearing beige ones( i wear a lot of white) is MUY entertainante

I am nearly 40.

I wear beige (nude) moulded.

Yes to non nipple show.

And I find adds a bit of oomph - but maybe you don't need extra oomph?

doggiesayswoof · 29/03/2012 14:41

Thinking about it - I have binned all my non-moulded ones

MsNorbury · 29/03/2012 14:42

the thing i DONT like about it is that in this one there is a gap at teh top where the " riangle" of the bra hits the strap.
i DO like that the straps are thinner.
i like a balconette - got this from Bravissimo. think is fantasie

I have just persuaded my sister in law to buy her first non moulded and also got her measured so it actually fits her, she loves it.

I think so many women wear the wrong size and a moulded cup can hide this.

I have a couple of moulded for certain clothes, but much prefer a standard Freya balcony, I like boobs with a more natural shape.

mrsbugsywugsy · 29/03/2012 14:45

define 'younger'.

I'm probably not classed as young any more (sob) but don't like moulded bras. I am a 32E so not fried eggs, but not sagging much yet.

I find the ones with a seamless cup show nipples whereas ones with a seam across where the nipple is don't.

I wear mostly black bras as I wear dark coloured clothes. I have one nude one for under my few light-coloured tops. And have a couple of other colours I bought because they were pretty.

MsNorbury · 29/03/2012 14:45

but i dont want nipples to show through - this paranoia started when i taught teenage boys and has REMAINED

I'll be 40 this year. Always wear moulded, usually black or nude. Am small of nork though

MsNorbury · 29/03/2012 14:46

i never wear my pretty ones.
they always show through. I suppose it depends how plain your tops are - mine ARE so i dont want lacey shit underneath

I'm 31 and yes
Am still feeding ds3 and find they don't irritate my nipples. Also I now seem to have about a cup size difference and they seem to manage it better

MsNorbury · 29/03/2012 14:48

BUT if you were in a BIZARRO mums and tollders where women in late 30s ( non bf) all flashed their decolletage would they all be moulded?

I'm 33. And this is my favourite bra:

doggiesayswoof · 29/03/2012 14:48

Ah - you have bigger norks than me

MsNorbury · 29/03/2012 14:48

but that leaf thing looks like a sofa!

OP posts:
mrsbugsywugsy · 29/03/2012 14:53

which mine?

maybe it's ugly, but I have always been too big of boob to wear those pretty lacy little things. This one gives my boobs a great shape and is so comfy I don't know I'm wearing it.

I spent years wearing cheap bras in the wrong size, being constantly uncomfortable and adjusting straps, so I really appreciate this.

MsNorbury · 29/03/2012 15:01

well yes i agree there - does the leaf SHOW through though

OP posts:
mrsbugsywugsy · 29/03/2012 15:05

No - or at least not that I've noticed!

Agincourt · 29/03/2012 15:07

I think they are the best thing ever invented as I have rather proud nipples and have always been self conscious but moulded bras have solved all my problems :) and this is particularly important as I work in food retail and it's generally very cold :o

I'm 34 btw, so not really young anymore

feedthegoat · 29/03/2012 15:09

I am 36 and wear only moulded bras.

nickelhasababy · 29/03/2012 15:09

i'm 35.
i don't like moulded bras, i think they're really uncomfortable and they force your boobs into that shape, so i get aches by the end of the day.

I've never had a problem with non-moulded bras with nipples.
I used to get the Next bras, knitted cotton, underwired but no seams.

noddyholder · 29/03/2012 15:10

Don't wear them look like an eggbox on me just can't get used to them. Don't think its age though as have mates who love them. A normal lacy balconette more flattering and slimming but thats just me

AlmaMartyr · 29/03/2012 15:17

I'm 28 and never worn a moulded bra. I am a 32JJ so always assumed they wouldn't do anything for me. Don't wear nude colour either but don't really wear white clothes so it isn't a problem.

pluckingupcourage · 29/03/2012 15:36

I never used to until last year - the trick is to get one which fits right, as the aches set in if you don't. So I spent ages trying to find one that fits (I think nice John Lewis woman thought I had some kind of fetish).

I ended up with the Calvin Klein seductive comfort customised lift one:
www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Calvin+Klein+Seductive+comfort+customised+lift+bra/117961129,default,pd.html?cm_mmc=GoogleProducts-pla--Women--Lingerie--Seductive+comfort+customised+lift+bra--22567628995&istCompanyId=17910aed-1bae-4362-9580-b523eb87a91e&istItemId=riwqxwpi&istBid=t&gclid=CNiM88mpjK8CFQQMtAodrxtWLA
It is a thing of wonder, super comfy and really soft. It is sufficiently moulded to avoid nipple show but doesn't feel like an egg box or sit away from your body like some of the nightmares of foam I tried on.
