Do younger women wear Moulded bras more?

MsNorbury · 29/03/2012 14:37

If they have tits, not fried eggs.
Chatting to younger colleague about it and she NEVER wears non moulded. I have a new moulded one that i am taking time to get used to but can see in the summer avoids nipple show.
She also thinks my wearing beige ones( i wear a lot of white) is MUY entertainante

I am a size 12 and an E cup and I buy mine from asda. They don't push your boobs all over the place though, they just make out gravity hasn't taken hold, which unfortunately after breastfeeding 3 children in my 20s, nature hasn't been kind

niminypiminy · 29/03/2012 15:42

I have one but don't wear it anymore since DS1 said loudly, in the school playground, 'Mummy are you wearing your fat breasts today' Blush

Now it is back to Tango balconette which I have in practically all its colours.

I'm 40 and always wear moulded. I can't be doing with errant nipples or lacy bumps showing through clothing.

Ambrosius · 29/03/2012 16:21

I'm 26 and I always wear moulded, padded, push up bras... If I cant rest my chin on my chesticles I am not happy! Grin
34D btw.

noddyholder · 29/03/2012 16:24

MsNorbury · 29/03/2012 16:32

I am ancient, 30E, and always always wear moulded flesh coloured bra. All this lacy crap is not intended for wearing under clothes, out of the house. Agree with MissBeehivin - smooth lines under everything.

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/03/2012 16:36

I always wear moulded as lost fullness in top bit after pregnancy/bf and like you hate the thought of nipple show-through. My mother was so obsessed with nipple show-through she used to sellotape her nipples down in the days before padded bras Shock

MsNorbury · 29/03/2012 16:39

Lol if she got cold or turned on was there a sudden loud ripping sound ?

I love the limited collection non padded ones they are a really good fit like an expensive bra but about 25 for 2!

SpottyDottyPinkDress · 29/03/2012 16:45

I'm 30 and only wear underwired moulded bras, I find them more supportive than the just fabric ones.

Pinot · 29/03/2012 16:59

I'm 36, a 36G and wear moulded under jersey tops to give a smooooooth line. Wear lacy contraptions under thicker tops as I likey the lacey, wear smooth cup (non-moulded) when I need ma bosom to behave and act with decorum.

I'm a bra slut it seems ;)

MyleeneCrass · 29/03/2012 17:08

My mil wears molded. It's put me off.

brighthair · 29/03/2012 17:43

28 here and am a 32j
Have bought bravissimos new Satine bra which I love - moulded plunge
Apart from that I wear non moulded

talkingnonsense · 29/03/2012 17:48

Wots a moulded bra? Like a padded one? I ahve a couple but don't need the extra padding, but all balconette styles seem to have it.

monkeysmama · 29/03/2012 18:05

I am 35 and only wear moulded bras. I can't stand my clothes not skimming my ample bosom.

Bunbaker · 29/03/2012 18:08

I wear ones like this as I have fried eggs and would look like a boy if I didn't. Sad

seeker · 29/03/2012 18:10

My dd and her friends will do ANYTHING to avoid the merest hint of nipple. They all wear moulded bras- even the ones who wish they had smaller breasts would rather wear moulded than show a nipple!

Freshlettice · 29/03/2012 23:20

Moulded are good for smooth lines under clothes - the Deco bra comes in a load of colours and has a good cleavage, but is a bit padded for some outfits. The other good moulded one IMO is this:
www.bravissimo.com/products/lingerie/t-shirt-bras/smoothing-seamfree-bra/nude/fa53nu/?show=16&sort=1&level=1
Have it in black and nude and it keeps your boobs in place really well.

JasperJohns · 29/03/2012 23:33

I hate moulded bras - I had one and it mad me look like I had massive mannequin boobs. And when I washed it, it went all peculiar.

My 14 yr old god daughter and her mates wear them. They have fried eggs on the whole, so probably like the paddedness.

I went for a fitting at Rigby & Peller a few years back. The assistant informed me, in her most supercilious tone, that 'no-one wears a white bra anymore.'!

I haven't worn a white bra since!

MsNorbury · 30/03/2012 14:49

I think
A white bra looks nice against your skin.

Lettuce I agree. I had that one. Love the shape. Think they aren't making it anymore. It sometimes rippled on me though.

I definitely don't need the extra padding but I bought a nude padded one in a sale and really love it. I'm 35 with three DCs.

I'm wearing more fitted clothing than I have in the past few years and it gives a smoother line. The nude colour is better than white. I've not found any issues with washing it either.

theDevilHasTheBestMNNames · 30/03/2012 17:22

The one Freshlettice linked to is the one I got and love.
