Go and have a sit down. Get your cardi, it's looking chilly.

usualsuspect · 16/03/2012 16:32

Old lady , sorry

drywhiteplease · 16/03/2012 16:32

Meant to say......I need (eek) sensible, comfortable shoes to wear with nice straight leg trousers and a short a line skirt for my job. I need good quality.leather otters and inners pref.like ballet pumps.found these on amazon with 20% off and free returns. I hate sensible shoes....are these granny shoes?( perhaps a clue in brand?)

Quite hard to see, they look quite plain the ones underneath look quite nice if you are looking for comfy pumps. I bought some Aldo pumps and wedges last year from Amazon and they were really nice

drywhiteplease · 16/03/2012 16:33

Others not otters !

I bought some Gabor shoes thinking that if you squinted they almost looked sportif and almost like Tods but I never wear them because they do just look grannyish. Sorry. And I speak as someone with a high tolerance for grannyish things. I think the pic looks ok but I wouldn't trust them not to age you.

Pagwatch · 16/03/2012 16:37

I have seen shoes like that around but Gabor is a bit granny. But they will be comfy Grin

ggirl · 16/03/2012 16:42

yup you've lost it

candytuft63 · 16/03/2012 16:42

Just looking at the pic, when DH looked over my shoulder.
DH-"Ooh, they look nice!"
Blush
Not to me, they dont.
Too clunky.

FannyPriceless · 16/03/2012 16:48

Drywhite - thanks for the link. I am going to buy some. Really, honestly!Grin

usualsuspect · 16/03/2012 16:48

They do look comfy though.

FannyPriceless · 16/03/2012 17:02

Why did I just admit to that? Now the whole of MN will come and point and laugh at me with my wide-fit shoes and sensible cardy.

anniewoo · 16/03/2012 17:03

Gabor have much nicer ballet pumps than those

passthebiccies · 16/03/2012 17:06

My mum has these. She loves them. Very comfy, she reports Grin

drywhiteplease · 16/03/2012 17:07

FunnysInTheGarden · 16/03/2012 17:09

old lady I think.

cazza40 · 16/03/2012 17:11

Dreadful absolutely dreadful DO NOT BUY !

Byeckerslike · 16/03/2012 17:16

Yy, not good!

mum47 · 16/03/2012 17:19

They are quite clumpy and bit grannyish, soz. Get some lovely Clarks pumps - they stylish and comfy. Do not get distracted and end up buying a big slipper to go with your cardi instead. :)

FannyPriceless · 16/03/2012 17:23

All these people screaming 'do not buy!' at the top of your voices: I hear you. But I can't help feeling you don't know what it's like to have very bad feet at an age far too young for it to be fair.

I have to walk an impossible line between looking nice (which entails bleeding, blisters, and lameness) or wearing sensible comfortable flat squidy shoes lined with soft leather kissed by angels (which apparently makes me look like a granny). I would luurve to wear kick arse stylish heels, but seriously can't. I can't even wear Clarks FFS, as even their most sensible pumps are cut too low across my bunions and make me bleed.

I figure that if the rest of my outfit is funky enough nobody will notice the granny shoes. At least, that's what I keep telling myself.

OP, sorry for hijacking your thread. It's cathartic.

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/03/2012 17:25

Well I too am in my 'house' cardigan as its a bit chilly Wink

But no - you can't wear them.

m&s footglove do better than that.

drywhiteplease · 16/03/2012 17:28

fanny I feel so sorry for you because I actually love shoes....the higher the better.you took the attention off me momentarily, not a hijack at all.I do agree with you about having a great outfit..mine is, if my outfit is great no one will notice my big bum.

Will check out Clarks again.
