Gabor

They'd probably look really cool on a 21 year-old. Damn Granny chic for not working on anyone over that age...

FluffyBunnyWunnyMummyKins · 16/03/2012 17:31

Grin They are a bit grannyish. On the other hand there are far more offensive shoes out there. Happy shopping!

petitema · 16/03/2012 17:35

Are you over 60? Grin

drywhiteplease · 16/03/2012 17:35

zalando

Or these?

zalando

landofsoapandglory · 16/03/2012 17:36

Even MIL (71) would steer clear of those!

faustina · 16/03/2012 17:45

fitflop are doing some quite nice looking ballerinas. Not granny looking at all - they do cost a fortune though

bigpants103 · 16/03/2012 19:24

I think both zalando pairs are ok

dingdong3 · 16/03/2012 22:02

Step.Away.From.The.Computer....I shall fire you as my muse if you buy them!! Grin
These gabor ones are far nicer....I'll look on Clarks site also...

dingdong3 · 16/03/2012 22:21

Some Clarks suggestions...
loafer style
suede/patent mix
slight granny tendencies but so comfortable
you would need to try these on - hard to know if they are wrong side of old lady line
And once you get home and the end of the day, be sure to have a whiskey & soda Grin

mejon · 16/03/2012 22:54

God I must be so out of touch - OP I quite like the first ones you linked to and the first Zalando ones in a chunky sort of way - not grannyish in any way. dingdong3 - apart from the loafers all those you've linked to look like something an 80s Sloane Ranger would have worn with a nice sweater and upturned collar. Those to me are grannyish - I've yet to see a stylish shoe in Clarks. Have you looked at the Shoon website OP? There's some nice flats there and they have 10% off this weekend too.

hmc · 16/03/2012 22:57

They are awful op, don't do it

Casmama · 16/03/2012 23:05

The clue is not only that they are Gabor but that particular model is petunia!

colette · 16/03/2012 23:07

agree trhey are aweful, but also feel stuck what shoes are flat black comfortable and not grannyish ? ( and preferably not over £50 )

thenightsky · 16/03/2012 23:10

OP they are dire.

But in defence of Gabor, the pair I bought in a sale are gorgeous high heels in soft nude moleskin with suede tassly bits on front. And I got them for £30 instead of £98.

dingdong3Grin you're back!! Loving the slippers!do like the patent Clarks ones.(have just bought the perfect little a line black above knee skirt in sale.....will send pic soon)

mejon I agree about Sloane eighties throw back element to fashion generally at mo. I did it first time (inc frilly shirt collars, flicks ,blue eyeliner, velvet hair band and penny loafers.........but I was v young!!)and it feels odd doing (some) of it a second time!

My prob is I just don't do "sensible"shoes.

OP posts:
mythical · 17/03/2012 15:12

what about... these

sorry but the ones in the OP are awful...

mejon · 17/03/2012 15:42

But but but... sorry mythical but how can those be any less 'old lady like' than the ones OP first linked to? Hotter=old lady shoes surely? They are one step away from those slipper boots with the velcro flaps Grin.

mythical · 17/03/2012 16:24

I wear something very very similar for work (the strap isn't diagonal though) . I don't really look at brands when i buy shoes if i need them to be comfy as i'm on my feet all day. i'm 23

BroomForMyChin · 17/03/2012 19:23

These are much worse than the ones I started a thread about Grin

anniewoo · 17/03/2012 19:49

The Hotter Dizzy are worse than the Gabor in the opening message but the Hotter Darcey aren't too bad considering they will b comfortable . Still think Gabor have nicer ballerina pumps with a heel and a velvet bow.

anniewoo · 17/03/2012 19:52

Gabor Assist, Gabor Amy and Gabor Emporium are v nice

My Mil has those shoes and she is 66. So I would say yes they are grannyish, don't buy them.
