ReineDeSaba · 25/02/2012 12:08

so many posts!thank you for the new thread yummy

blue love hearing about your newborn love.great name b.t.w.

amber ouch to piercing story.sorry you are so poorly.

icey giving up MN And Sweets Shock

ollie we made the fish project too.

Mim glad you are on the mend.

I loved MSCL and rewatched it as an adult...yum to Jared Leto back in the day but probably as much for his 'bad boy' persona as prettiness. red the girl you mentioned married a prince in real life I think.I loved ricky(the gay sidekick)

emo hope there's a great atmosphere today.

we went to a gig last night..'little dragon' amazing!restored my faith in modern music,

marsha can really see you in the delicious saloni.

my mum made me some brilliant clothes as a child but I was also dressed at the other extreme in Harrods and HN finest.

ants will be great to have a big chunk of time off but you are definitely not big at size 14 and one of the tallest on the thread!

scarfi do you mean the AH is going back?

ReineDeSaba · 25/02/2012 12:12

Re-earrings..hasn't come up in our house..yet..am shocked to hear could be as soon as next year but have more concerns about precocious dressing, facial piercings and tattoos

ReineDeSaba · 25/02/2012 12:13

well done portia's dd2

OllieinOrange · 25/02/2012 12:18

Has anyone got the grey Me and Em dress yet? I cancelled my order but could still be tempted.

blossoming · 25/02/2012 13:56

Hi everyone!
Am watching rugby after being on the bikes for 2.5 hours this morning.
DH is also taking me out tonight ollie. No idea what I'll wear.
Your dd is a star portia.
Loved reading all your posts. I couldn't wait for secondary school so I could wear uniform instead of hand-me-downs. My great aunt's clothes were made to fit me and mum would sew a lace collar onto them.
Got into the music scene at 16 and wore 501's and t-shirts for the next 8 years, and dm's. Then combats. Then came designer jeans, heels and SATC. Grew hair, straightened it, wore dresses. Then the yoga trousers years of child bearing. And now back in jeans and t shirts again!

scarfaholic · 25/02/2012 14:09

Reine, yes, have to return it but I will buy it again. I want the coat and that will sell out but the bag will be there for a while. HN and Harrods, ooh la la! I thought I was well dressed in Petit Bateau. My brothers still complain at the teasing they got for the bermuda shorts they had to wear.

Enjoy your nights out, Bloss and Ollie.

scarfaholic · 25/02/2012 14:10

Portia, well done to your DD. Is she back for good now?

scarfaholic · 25/02/2012 14:36

Red, have just remembered the name of Claire Danes' friend in My So-Called Life ... Rayanne!

blossoming · 25/02/2012 15:59

I missed your link to the coat scarf as it had sold out. Got me thinking about a £££ (650) Burberry trench on NaP though!

ants, and others, maybe we could be friends on mfp? Glad you got time off.

Had home made pizza for lunch. Just had a piece of sponge. And dinner out in gourmet restaurant. I am doomed.

Great win for Ireland, and Gabby Logan looked fantastic in black trouser suit, patent heels and dark grey marl top with lovely straight hair.
Good job we've already played them I thought.

How drunk are you emo Wink?

Russianred · 25/02/2012 16:06

Aah yes, the lovely Rayanne. Will have to go and google to find out about her marrying a Prince! Thanks Reine and Scarf.

Well done your DD Portia!

Emo hope you have fun - DH ensconced on sofa now full of pre-match banter that he enjoys sharing with DS.

Glad you enjoyed the gig Reine - have heard good things.

The Me&Em dress was in the Saturday Times supplement (is there something in this? Happens with such regularity), so order quick Ollie!

Particularly pleased with my outfit today; Fuchsia Gap skinnies, White seam back Whistles tee (a bit see through, needs nude bra really), Roxy and new Warehouse butterfly scarf. Worn with nude mid-heel patent pumps this morning and then changed into leopard loafers for an afternoon in the park lest my shoes ruin my mothering.

OllieinOrange · 25/02/2012 16:57

Great sounding outfit Red.

Bloss I've just looked up on MFP what spare ribs would be calorie wise. Lets just say DH and I will now be cycling to the restaurant despite the cold.

Scarf I got the Sold Out screen as well. What coat was it?

Portia good for DD2.

DS1 just announced he cant wait til he can go to Uni as he will be able to play Wii all day. He is 6.

scarfaholic · 25/02/2012 17:05

It's this but in navy. I think Freda is Matches own brand. Is it bad that I am planning next winter's wardrobe?! I am going to get Acne pistol boots too.

That is funny, Ollie! Nice outfit, Red.

OllieinOrange · 25/02/2012 17:20

Wow scarf thats a great, great coat. I love the cuffs, collar shape and the off centre fastening. Wonderful buy.

blossoming · 25/02/2012 17:59

Pricking up ears at mention of 'off centre'. Fabulous investment coat scarfi!
I feel your pain ollie.

OllieinOrange · 25/02/2012 18:09

I forgot about the wonderful cheesecake there too so have just done a quick shred! Dedicated to the cause me (the cause being able to eat loads naturally).
Off to shower and change into bike-appropriate outfit (grey Agnes, silk fronted zara jumper, tissues and comb in bag for runny nose and windswept hair)

Portia4 · 25/02/2012 18:36

That is a fab coat Scarf Well wear!

Have just got in from work, and made a tagine, we have friends coming tonight and Dh has got the house sparkling to be fair! it's almost worth working on a Saturday!

DDs have 007 on the tv, so off for a bit of oggling and a preliminary glass of vino, hope that you all have good Saturday evenings!

blossoming · 25/02/2012 19:21

I am trialling MU outfit. My lips are sealed!!

Russianred · 25/02/2012 19:34

Truly lovely coat Scarf, I can't see how you would regret buying that and makes sense re. returning AH when on considers Alexa which you shouldn't want to remove from your shoulder!

Lovely outfit Ollie - have fun! Bloss am intrigued by potential MU outfit, hope you have a great night too. And you Portia, tagine sounds yum.

I might have to jump on the Me&Em band wagon. Is there a code anywhere that is still valid? I was just looking at some of their stuff online and saw the dress of my dreams which I saw being worn two years ago by a lady and missed the opportunity to ask where it was from - hugely oversized, but short and beautifully cut striped t-shirt dress. Out of stock now..!

IceCreamCastles · 25/02/2012 20:18

Evening everyone.
Don't think I can maintain evening only MNing- I can't keep up! Chocolate has been far less of a trial.

Everyone I being very social this weekend-great outfits too.

Dd already asking about earrings and she is only 2 Shock. I'll probably let her have them done in the holdidays before she starts secondary school if she still wants them. As for make up etc. I am not a fan at all although I have been known to fob her off with a bit of pink vaseline occasionally Grin

Really interesting hearing about families and clothes. I used to get regular bags of hand me downs from a friend who was over a head taller than me so didn't do much shopping until I was quite a bit older. I did love the annual tammy girl haul at Christmas though Smile. My mum wasn't really into fashion but usually made sure we had some version of the 'must have' items- shell suits, Bermuda shorts, luminous socks, velvet hats etc. Blush

I really enjoyed homeland too. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Due date today and needless to say no action to report. I'm not really bothered but v worried about possibilty of induction again after not particularly pleasant experience last time. Still plenty of time before that though I suppose.

Sorry- has been very me me me. Big wave to everyone

AmberNectarine · 25/02/2012 20:39

icey I had a horrible induction first time round, so was dreading another. As it turned out it was a piece of cake, they just broke my waters, I wandered round for a bit, nothing doing, they were just about to start the drip and I said I needed to push. Midwife dismissive but examined me anyway. Her words were 'oh, bloody hell', DD was born a few minutes later. Great labour after a forceps nightmare.

Hope all having a lovely evening. Am malingering on sofa.

Little Liberty, children's clothes at Liberty opens 1 March. Stella M, Paul Smith, Chloe and Marant for your DS.

Not me, obv. Far too tight. Holidays and boutique hotel breaks win everytime Grin

pickledsiblings · 25/02/2012 22:17

Icey, glad to hear that you are still in good spirits Smile. You were kidding about the shell suits, weren't you? .

I can remember coming home from secondary school and swapping my blue school jumper for an oversized burgundy one (my dad's) before going out to play - that's how fashionable I was Grin. Can also remember wearing thigh high legwarmers over skinny jeans ...and an array of coloured shoes, blue loafers from Freeman Hardy and Willis that I loved loved loved!
