OP posts:
blossoming · 21/02/2012 20:18

Hi everyone. Long day here. Feel drained.
Glad things are settling red. You poor thing. Keep strong.
Love the bag scarfi. I love red bags too. Don't have enough bags really.
And the jeans portia, they are really nice.
Great bikinis ny, but I prefer the green one. Love the ruching. And I think you would suit that colour.
I wore yoga trousers too blue post birth, and long tops. Looked crap till I joined this thread 3 months later!
Glad your ds was better today mrscb, loved your comments on other thread.
So sick of charcoal. Can't wait for spring.

scarfaholic · 21/02/2012 20:26

Some of the comments on the thread are hilarious.

Bloss, I think there is a red Balenciaga bag-shaped hole in your wardrobe. Wink

Marsha, I like MIH paris too.

Hopefully · 21/02/2012 20:37

I think that thread is my favourite of the week.

London people, If you were walking from Selfridges to Liberty (and surrounding area), where would you go for maximum bag selection? I really need a new bag, but want to save for a lovely one. Have ambitions of a balenciaga, but not sure I have the determination and patience of Bloss. Want to go and have a good ogle of a nice selection on Saturday when I go fabric shopping though. I literally have one bag, and it is falling apart and is basically a big canvas tote. It is shameful, I tell you.

Scarf lovely news about your family expecting a baby Smile

I was actually under my calorie allowance today. Then we made pancakes. Whoops.

MarshaBrady · 21/02/2012 20:46

Oh fab Scarfi glad you like them. I'm going to find and order.

Hopefully I think Selfridges has a bigger selection of bags than Liberty.

blossoming · 21/02/2012 20:49

I think you're right scarfi. You'll have to come with me when I've saved up as the resident bag expert! Lovely baby news.
I've gone over too hopefully, but still hungry (proper hungry caterpillar me!) Will watch recorded Biggest Loser in a minute. Should keep me on the straight and narrow!
Oh meant to say, kindle users, you do realise it's a license to read junk don't you? I've never read so much in my life, bonkbusters the lot of them Wink

AntPants1 · 21/02/2012 20:54

Hi. Just popping in to see how Red's DD is. Sorry to see she is still poorly. I hope she turns the corner soon. X

ollie I can SO see you in that KM dress. Buy. And then create an occasion to wear it!! Perhaps you and your DH could take it out to dinner?!

Off to check MIM's thread....

scarfaholic · 21/02/2012 21:09

Hopefully, I'd also head to Selfridges for bag porn.

Marsha, what colour are you going for? They are all here!

Ants, hope you are feeling better.

Bloss, I am well on for that trip.

I can't believe my baby brother will be a dad. :o I thought he was my Tiny Tears doll come to life when he was born!

AmberNectarine · 21/02/2012 21:23

Hopefully I worship at the temple of Selfridges but I'm going to buck the trend and say I prefer Harvey Nics for bags. Smaller selection but separates the wheat from the chaff - no naff LV or Gucci there, all Proenza, Stella and YSL. Swoon. Liberty also good for this. For sheer choice, Harrods a winner, but horrendous amount of tourists.

rufus101 · 21/02/2012 21:46

Amber I love the authority in your voice on the bag shopping destinations!
Great bag Scarfi, I love a red shoe or bag me. "Found" a lovely pair of purple Marc Jacobs shoes that I bought 3 years ago in the BT sale and had forgotten about! (That never happens to me usually) Great news re your little brother, and it will be lovely for the girls to have a cousin.
NY I loved that blue and white striped Reiss dress. Also am very admiring of your ability to bikini shop, it's just too shivery for me.
Agree re the kindle Bloss I am a speed reader, and am even faster with the kindle as I don't spend as long turning a page. (I know that might sound daft) But yes, gives you license to read all kinds of rubbish, as you'd speed through it in a few hours.
Off to scoff a few pancakes.

OllieinOrange · 21/02/2012 21:47

Just lost a big post.

Will repost in the morning but wanted to share classic reponses from DH when I showed him links to dresses:

Paul and Jo dress: its got birds on it.
KM dress: its wonky.

Smile
MarshaBrady · 21/02/2012 21:48

Thanks Scarfi! Ooh loads. I think I tried on and really liked Union Navy. I should have taken more notice, I didn't realise there were so many colours.

Yes agree, Liberty and Harvey Nics a bit more refined in their selection.

notyummy · 21/02/2012 21:55

Quick off topic question- do you pay for every book you download to a kindle? I know there are some free, but I thought they were limited. I can get through a book in a couple of days sometimes so I stayed away from a kindle as I assumed it would be more than the 20p per book I currently pay to order the ones I like from the library. [tight emoticon]

Batter made yesterday definitely counts, Annie! I saw a lot I liked in Reiss, I had that pink stripey top in my hand and was about to buy, will get it next month.

My brother and his wife are in Australia so unfortunately we won't see the baby much.

NY, I have ordered a few books on the kindle, £5-7 each so far. I can see it adding up so will have to keep going to the library too. A kindle would be great for your trip though.

You are right, Amber, Harvey Nicks is great for bags and you have Anya Hindmarch, Louis Vuitton, Gucci etc around the corner. I do like LV Epi leather speedy and Alma bags (but sold those too a few years ago, hand held bags and babies don't mix).

scarfaholic · 22/02/2012 09:13

Ollie, 20% off at Karen Millen with the code STYLIST20.

pickledsiblings · 22/02/2012 09:28

scarf, I love the red AH that you've gone for - v. nice indeed, I don't think you'll be selling that one!

ollie, that KM dress would be so fabulous on you - you are definitely getting closer to 'the one', hang on in there.

Red, how is N this morning? Are you able to go home? You mustn't feel guilty for having had a great weekend away - I am sure you have coped brilliantly over the past few days in part because you had that time to recharge your batteries. You've coped so amazingly well with the move, the renovations and your DH (who I am sure hasn't quite been himself whilst he has been adjusting to a new job) and all the while offering your two, still quite little DC, fun-filled time of it all. Be kind to yourself and enjoy those precious moments that you get when your DC are 'unwell' and in need of many more cuddles than usual.

Hopefully · 22/02/2012 09:30

Was planning to do my normal walk from Victoria up to Selfridges, then along to Liberty, but maybe I can detour via HN, it's not too far out of the way. I just want to have a grope of some bags and decide how much I need to start saving for the perfect one! Am hoping to play with a PS1 and a Balenciaga and decide that both are horrible Grin, as I keep coming back and admiring them, but both are really over budget.

lol at 'it's wonky' Ollie

I've realised that my thighs are getting seriously muscly with all this exercise! I look a lot better, but my trousers are just as tight around my legs because I've toned up so much. I don't mind though, muscly is definitely better than wobbly!

DH and DS1 are still poorly, I am so bored of being nursemaid.

scarfaholic · 22/02/2012 09:33

Pickled, I did think about your DS's wallpaper comment (remember the awful pink bag?!) and laughed!

AmberNectarine · 22/02/2012 09:42

Hopefully you won't! They are both beautiful. I am seriously covering a PS1 and the SM Falabella I keep going into Matches to have a perv at the latter...

pickledsiblings · 22/02/2012 09:46

You and your bags scarf - you are so fickle Grin. The shape of the one you've gone for is v. like my BR yellow one that I bought last year and still love.

scarfaholic · 22/02/2012 09:53

I am fickle alright!

I really like the PS1 bags. The prices Stella McCartney charges for pleather are outrageous.

OllieinOrange · 22/02/2012 10:47

Quick question - Joseph dresses - are they true to size?????
(please say them come up a tiny bit small!)

OllieinOrange · 22/02/2012 10:53

Oh and a My Wardrobe Discount code would be lovely as well?
